I have been under the care of Dr Alistair Ring since September 2024, and from my very first visit to The Royal Marsden, I knew I had made the right decision to begin chemotherapy there. During our initial consultation, Dr Ring immediately put me at ease, even though I had just received a difficult test result minutes before our meeting. He took the time to explain the Oncotype test for example and the treatment options available, making it clear that every step of my care would be centred around me. Dr Ring’s attention to detail and his encouragement to ask questions gave me great confidence and helped me feel empowered throughout my treatment. Following chemotherapy, I began medication that induced menopause, and thanks to his early guidance on potential side effects and how to manage them, I felt fully prepared. I also appreciate that he has been open to ongoing conversations about my treatment, including exploring HRT options, this openness means a great deal. The clinical staff at The Royal Marsden have been exceptional. They have consistently provided compassionate, professional care, and I genuinely look forward to seeing them at each follow-up. They remember small details and speak to me as a person, not just a patient, which makes every visit a positive experience. I cannot recommend Dr Ring and The Royal Marsden highly enough. I am deeply grateful for the outstanding care and support I have received and continue to receive from the entire team.

Mr Anthony Antoniou

My wife and I live in Nottinghamshire and I was referred urgently to Mr Antoniou at St Marks under the National Referral Scheme, as none of the Colorectal Consultants in the Midlands had experience of my problem or in treating it. We only waited a short time for the appointment and travelled down to London. Mr Antoniou called us into the consulting room personally and his warmth and demeanour immediately gave us total confidence in him and we knew I was in expert hands. He took time to explain the issue in detail and the proposed surgical procedure which we then discussed. Crucially, we were part of the discussion as opposed to be spoken at, which we were very grateful for. Two weeks later I was admitted to St Marks and went to Theatre where, again, Mr Antoniou was very pleasant and I felt at ease, despite the procedure I was about to undergo. When I awoke on the Ward post surgery, Mr Antoniou visited my wife and I and explained that all had gone well, again very reassuring. I have recently seen Mr Antoniou in Clinic for a 12 month check and, as ever, Mr Antoniou was friendly and welcoming and reassured us that all was well and that if I had future concerns, I should contact his secretary. I cannot commend or recommend Mr Antoniou highly enough for all aspects of the care and compassion he showed to my wife and I during a difficult time, especially being so far from home. We will be forever grateful.

Cleveland Clinic London

I had two excellent experiences at the Cleveland yesterday. First Norman did the most thorough and careful echocardiogram. He took endless trouble so as to give the cardiologist views of my heart and its valves from every angle and perspective. The cardiologist was most impressed and helped by all the additional information this gave him. Dr Sam Dawkins, my cardiologist told me and showed me by using these images how well the TAVI and the reduction of the septum are working as they have not only hugely improved flow through my aortic valve but also through my mitral valve. Dr Dawkins is a brilliant cardiologist and an amazing thinker. I was faced with open heart surgery to replace two valves and excision of thickened areas of heart muscle; a very risky operation with a long and maybe unsuccessful period of recovery. Dr Dawkins devised the novel procedures he carried out on me on 24/10/24. The success of this is totally down to his skill and the trouble he took. He was excellently supported by the doctors and staff of the Cleveland during the operation. I hope he is able to share the knowledge of my operation with other cardiologists so more patients can avoid open heart surgery and be given back their health the way I was. Thank you Dr Dawkins

GenesisCare Cambridge

I was referred to Genesis by the NHS consultant oncologist to receive radiotherapy and hormone treatment for for my diagnosed advanced prostate cancer. I was seen very quickly at the Newmarket (Cambridge) branch of Genesis. The facilities are modern with state of the art CT and radiotherapy equipment. At all times the staff of all disciplines and specialties were extremely helpful and understanding. After 4 weeks (20 sessions) of radiotherapy my regular attendance finished. However I will continue to have regular reviews there with the oncologist and be given the specialist hormone therapy and other pills to be taken for 2 years. Another impressive feature at Genesis is the inclusion of gym sessions under personal guidance from two expert trainers. This is most helpful in countering the muscle loss resulting from hormone therapy. I am continuing with these sessions for some weeks after completing my treatment. In summary, Genesis Care has provided the highest possible standard of specialist cancer treatment and I would strongly recommend this organisation when radiotherapy treatment is needed.

My experience with CP&R…. has been fantastic…. everyone involved has been so very helpful…Becky….. Angela… Tom…. and my trainer Paddy….. (Patrick)…. he has been beyond amazing… from the start…. nothing but encouraging… always supportive…. I have had quite a few bumps along the way and he has always been so kind…. I feel so much stronger… and more confident…Paddy has a wonderful attitude…. full of kindness and nothing but encouragement…. he works you hard but understands one’s limitations… I cannot praise him highly enough…. and I shall never forget this experience…. he has become a lifelong friend…. and I wish him all the luck in the world going forwards…. I reckon CP&R are very lucky to have him!…. I would also like to say a thank you to you all but to Tom who stepped in a few times and was also so encouraging… and I always loved his texts of support…. Thank you!… Becky and Angela .. thank you too for all your support… although it’s been a much longer journey than I had realised…. out of hard times…… has come a lot of good …meeting you all!…. so a huge never ending thank you….

I have received welcoming and reassuring support from each of the departments I have visited within The Cleveland Clinic as an outpatient and as an inpatient for planned surgery. I was welcomed by the nursing staff and by Mr Nathwani on the day of the surgery who explained again the surgical procedure. Post operatively the nursing staff and the physiotherapist gave encouraging information. I appreciated seeing Mr Akhtar, a fellow orthopaedic surgeon, who had supported me in the early months of the trauma and who had referred me to Mr Nathwani for the specific surgical procedure. I appreciated his interest in following my case. In terms of post operative rehabilitation, Mr Nathwani gave me details of a resource which I did not know of but which I researched and which turned out to be invaluable. I was very warmly welcomed by Nathwani for my post-operative appointment recently and was delighted to demonstrate to him the significant progress I have made and the impact it is making to my life. I can't thank than him and also Mr Akhtar enough.

I cannot praise Mr Talawadekar, known more fondly as Mr T, highly enough. What an ambassador for the NHS! From the start of my referral for progressive dupytrons contracture over 12 months ago, through to surgery on the 27th October and post op consultation, he has shown such kindness and compassion wrapped up with a wonderful sense of humour. (the delay in my review is due to being out of the country) His knowledge and expertise in the condition as he engages with you at the consultations, is obvious. As is his passion and devotion to his craft. I did not have one second of anxiety about my surgery or doubt that Mr T would do an excellent job, and he did not let me down. Within a few weeks I had almost full use of my hand with a slight restriction being around the post op swelling. After 8 weeks and continuing physio I now have no swelling or scarring and a completely straight finger. I will be eternally grateful to Mr T and his wonderful skill as an outstanding surgeon.

I am so thrilled with my experience at Weymouth Street Hospital, London, after having had cataracts removed in both of my eyes, by Mr Hove of Blue Fin Vision. I can see clearly now, both distance and close up, reading, computer etc, etc.. ; no need for any glasses. Mr Hove is truly amazing - so caring, kind and professional. He explained everything to me in my assessment on Monday 8th December, in Chelmsford and actually had the operation in such a short time - Thursday 11th December! I am a new person now ! Doctor Carlos, the anesthetist, was also so kind and caring. I felt thoroughly at ease for my operation. Many, many thanks to everybody, including the kind nurse. My husband and I were both given a delicious meal afterwards, which was really appreciated - so welcome. Thank you very, very much for everything, everybody

Needed a routine hernia operation, didn't want to wait 4–6 months, chose Royal Free Private Patients based on surgeon's online profile and because profits go to NHS; also I have been an NHS patient at RF. Was seen quickly for initial consultation and got surgery appointment when I wanted it. Mr Iype did a tidy job of the surgery, I am now recuperating with no complications so far and very little pain. Anaesthetists were friendly and efficient, and Severo my nurse in my ward was helpful, reassuring and friendly. I had a ward room to myself, which my wife could stay in while I had the surgery. It was clean and roomy, though a little cold – take extra blankets. The lunch I was given after surgery was pretty good, and they were able to get a sandwich for my wife too as well as teas and coffees. All in all, went very well.

I met Dr Elumalai first at Addenbrookes where he was reviewing all the tests and scans I had received there. He advised that if I had medical insurance he would recommend Genesis Care where the radiotherapy treatment could be carried out immediately rather than wait several months in the NHS queue. Other benefits were the insertion of a spacer gel to protect the rectum and minimise side effects. Also Genesis could provide the latest hormone treatment tablet, Abiraterone, which was not yet available on the NHS. At follow up meetings at Genesis, Newmarket, Dr Elumalai had all the test and treatment details available on his computer and could answer all my questions. He has provided reassurance regarding the long term effectiveness of the treatment and at the last meeting confirmed that my cancer was now in remission.

I had breast implants replacement with Dr. Metin, after 7 years from my first breast implant procedure, as I had a rupture of one of them. I was really nervous and anxious at the beginning but, from my first appointment with Dr. Metin, I felt in reliable hands. We had an extensive pre-surgery conversation where everything about the procedure was explained in details, all my questions answered in a very professional and friendly way. The procedure went smoothly. The follow-up medical checks were well organised and I felt well supported after the procedure. I’m extremely happy and satisfied with the result, my breast looks much better and more natural compared with the result of my first procedure. I’m really grateful to Dr. Metin and I highly recommend him.

I had a breast reduction and uplift with Parkash Lohana in December 2025 and I am delighted with the results. All the staff here are so kind and friendly. Special shout out to Roslyn for how well she looked after me (and my very anxious mum!) on the day, Bernadette, Lisa, but everyone has been amazing. I'm still healing and had to come in for a same day appointment to have something checked and Belinda totally put me at ease and gave me really clear information. Honestly couldn't fault a single element of my experience!

My appointment with Mr Philip Ahrens was convenient and went smoothly. All the reception staff at Portland Place were friendly and efficient. Dr Lee who and his assistant (Ahmed?) who carried out the ultrasound scan of my shoulder and the delivery of the steroid injection were first class. I have been treated by Mr Ahrens on two previous occasions - 2005 and 2010 - so I knew that he was the specialist I wanted to see on this occasion. Almost one week on and I am feeling the positive effects of my visit last Tuesday.
