This morning I received fantastic treatment from Mr Yasin El-Wajeh which was delivered in a suitably upbeat, capable and compassionate manner. Time was taken to explain, to answer queries and importantly, to listen. The dentist was also really kind and reassuring which meant a lot to me as I was very, very anxious after an extremely distressing experience with an extraction years ago. Even before the treatment began, Mr Yasin El-Wajeh exuded competence and I knew I was in good hands. Indeed, he had no sooner administered anaesthetic than he was holding the offending tooth. The extraction took less than five minutes. I would highly recommend Mr Yasin El-Wajeh for his ultimate professionalism, skill and warm compassion. I am so grateful to him and the lovely staff at Scunthorpe Orthodontics.

Prof East is extremely competent, understanding and caring. He is a problem solver. I went to him, having been let down 3 times over 4 months by 2 A&E depts and a GP. Because I take medication for acid reflux, they each wrote off my severe symptoms as gastroenteritis - because of their 'tunnel vision' they failed to care out a simple ultrasound scan. Feeling desperate and in pain I went to see Prof East privately. He listened and conducted tests,, including ultrasound scans. As a result he referred me to the appropriate surgeon for Urgent surgery. The negligence of the NHS allowed my condition to worsen and had become life threatening. In effect Prof East saved my life..

Following my initial consultation I was offered a date for my surgery which was only two weeks ahead which completely surprised me as I expected a much longer wait I attended my surgery and was treated with courtesy and respect by all of the staff I encountered I was put at ease both before and during the procedure my surgeon My discharge nurse explained clearly what I needed to do with my medication and also how to keep my eye clean I received a phone call from a nurse the day after my surgery checking that everything was okay. The reception was not particularly efficient. I’d paid for the consultation in advance but asked for payment. I did have to pay for blood tests & waited 25 minutes because the receptionist was unable to transfer the amount from the laptop to the card machine. The dryer in the first floor toilet was broken but no hand towels were provided to dry my hands. It was the same exactly a week earlier. I also received numerous text messages & emails most were repetitive & caused confusion as several arrived the same day. The saving grace was thankfully the clinical staff were friendly & efficient.

Mr Nita explained the pros and cons of knee replacement surgery to me very clearly and honestly. So I understood what to expect in terms of the level of pain to be expected particularly in the first 2 weeks, but more importantly that after the operation, a good recovery is down to me doing the recommended exercises regularly. Because of his knowledge and experience he inspired confidence in me to proceed. Eight days in, I am very hopeful taking all this on board that the operation will make a massive positive impact on my quality of life.

I had my first Osteotomy on my right leg 7 months ago and what a difference it has made. The pain literally reduced by around 90%. Just over two weeks ago, I had the same procedure on my left leg.
