Last year, I decided to see Mr Holland after experiencing several years of severe symptoms of what I thought the time was endometriosis or PCOS. I was quickly put ease when Mr. Holland was talking through various symptoms and next step plans, including a helpful referral for a urologist and scans. I didn’t feel pushed to go through a certain route and was carefully provided with all the risks that came with surgery - I was also listened to and that made me feel seen considering my symptoms. However, my surgery experience with Mr Holland and his team was absolutely exemplary from start to finish before my operation. I had various tests and one test came back. That wasn’t completely accurate so they encouraged me to come in and sort this out rather than leave it, on the day of surgery I always carefully walked through what was going to happen I had nurse advice and the care at the hospital that I received was 10 out of 10. Post surgery I wasn’t pushed out the door and was encouraged to begin my rehab firewalking and the nurse was close to be monitoring me. I wasn’t just left and following up I was I had regular checks and even post three months after surgery I had a consultation and was advised of appropriate next steps. I appreciate how scary this situation can be for young women, but I was always put it ease and no requests or question was too silly or small, now almost 8 months per surgery I feel like I totally new woman and that is all thanks to Mr Holland.

He went on to clearly and thoroughly explain what the treatment would entail and how this would be done. He checked my understanding at every stage and he created a safe space for me to ask any questions I had and to discuss any fears or concerns about the treatment or its outcomes. I left my consultation absolutely clear on what was in front of me. At all stages Dr Kalla was warm, engaging and very considerate. His path of investigation led to my ultimately receiving a new aortic valve which has saved my life. I recommend him most highly.

The staff at KIMS Hospital are truly amazing and incredibly friendly. Their professionalism and genuine compassion were unmatched by any experience I’ve had in NHS care. I felt supported, reassured, and well looked after from start to finish. Several people stood out during my stay: Amy in recovery, David, who prepared me for the epidural, Becky, my physio, and Mark, who handled my medication. Dr Srikantha is a sincere, honest, and fundamentally integrity-driven specialist. Her conduct during the consultation and her bedside manner is among some of the best I have experienced (as someone with a complex medical profile , I have seen a number of specialists!). It is not common, if not rare, for someone with my clinical profile to receive a letter that articulates details with such accuracy and shows active listening to matters of concern to me. Dr Srikantha is gracious, humble, but most importantly deeply human in her approach - these are traits that sometimes feel absent from clinical care.

Professor Mark O'Donnell

This was my first visit to your clinic . I was apprehensive but was shown to the waiting area and had to wait only a couple minutes to meet Prof O’Donnell . My daughter ( a nurse ) was with me. Prof O’Donnell set me at ease straight away and explained what he was going to do . He examined both my legs and told no medical procedure was necessary and he would see me again in 3 months. He explained everything clearly and I was glad my daughter was present. I left Prof O’ Donnell’s room very relieved. He was a pleasure and a great person to meet when I was a worried patient. From the first meeting with Mr Yates it was positive and he arranged Right hip replacement. The procedure was explained and booked for 20th November. The operation went well and I was back on my feet later in the day with a walker. Physio followed. I was kept in hospital for 2 nights then allowed to go home when I could manage the stairs with the physio. I’m now at 8 weeks and just seen consultant who is happy with my progress. I can now walk without aids, all be it outside I can use crutch or stick if needed. I feel like I have my life back.

I was here for six weeks and the intensive therapy schedule has been extremely beneficial for me. Family therapy was helpful and I'm working hard to mend the relationships in my family. Staff at the practice seem to be unable to distinguish between NHS patients a d those who Are private and paying. Twice i was sent to the wrong waiting area with NHS patients. Only to be later sent to the private waiting area. As a paying patient i expect a certain level of compitance and care. So come on Barlborough, a little bit of interest in your role might help
