I attended the hospital to have planned eye surgery consisting of cataract removal, lens replacement and full thickness corneal replacement under general anaesthetic. I arrived early and was allocated to a private ensuite room with secure storage. Nurses confirmed all the necessary checks that had been conducted the previois day in pre-assessment. A nurse applied gel to my hand to numb it ready for a cannula and provided surgical stockings. The anaesthetist visited to re-confirm details and provide reassurance. The surgeon visited to review procedure and risks. The nurse accompanied me to the anaesthesia room and looked after my clothes. After fitting the cannula painlessly, after the anaesthetic I knew nothing until awakening in recovery, with a pad over the affected eye. I was taken back to my room feeling fit and well. Nurses checked on me and provided the refreshments I had ordered. The surgeon visited again to confirm the follow up appointment. Medications were made ready, with post operative guidance. My chaperone arrived to take me home. The whole thing was completed on schedule.

Mr Challand always greeted me with a very pleasant and positive attitude at our face to face meetings. This was very encouraging and helped me to carry the positivity throughout my time under Mr Challand's care. When I came round out of the initial surgery, I saw my situation and for the next 2 days I allowed my internal voices to voice how they saw my future situation. However at the end of the 2nd day, I gave myself a good talking to, that tomorrow (the 3rd day) there would be no more "why me" complaining. This is how I carried on - Only Positivity, and it worked for me. Yes, there were a few situations but I dealt with each in a plus positive manner. I always made sure to greet every one with a positive outlook. My visits with Mr Challand have always been very pleasant and straight to the point. Thanks to all the staff who were involved with my case. I'm so fortunate to be here and can only express my sincere thanks to all. The best gift to me has been the reversal. I now have to learn how to get used to the old system of toiletries!! Regards Margaret P

I reached out to TCM after I was told that I had a very low AMH and AFC and that I would likely go through early menopause. This caused me a lot of stress as I had always had regular periods and had never considered that I may have fertility troubles. Prof Au talked me through my results and educated me on AMH as a poor predictor for menopause. He advised me that I would need further bloods to fully assess my fertility and I was able to request them from my GP. Following this he reviewed my bloods with me again, without charge, and advised me that everything was normal and I did not need to be seen at TCM. I am very grateful for all the help, support and education. Thank you!

The receptionist and the nurse were lovely. However, the consultant made me feel like I wasn’t heard at all, I didn’t really get to talk about anything I wanted to talk about because every time I tried to I was cut off and told I would have to speak to someone else about that but I was confused as I was speaking about the issue I was there for. I also felt like I was penalised for my gp making a mistake and did feel very uncomfortable by the end of the consultation. Which made me quite sad as this is an issue I’ve been dealing with for a couple of years and I feel like I’m still getting no where with it.

It was a really welcoming and professsional. Ms Ray was very friendly and welcoming. She put my daughter as ease. There was a slight confusion with the xray as my daughter didn’t realise she was meant to drop the form round to the x Ray department so we were waiting in the main reception for a while before I asked how long it would be. However it was quick to get the xray and bloods. My only issue was the parking. There were so many areas for consultants, disabled, oncology, staff, which is understandable but it meant we had to drive around 3 times to find a space.

I am an older endurance athlete. Competing is important to me. Mr Memarzadeh understood this and worked with me to give me the best chance of achieving my aims. My injury was explained and supported until planned surgery which was at a time of my choosing to fit with competition events. The findings at surgery were explained fully and accompanied by photographs of the damage inside my knee joint. I have a clear plan forwards and know I can return should I have further questions. Altogether a first class experience. Thank you.

Her massage, cupping, and use of the power gun were all excellent, and she immediately understood where my trigger points were without me having to explain much. I felt truly cared for and in very capable hands. She is efficient, skilled, and highly knowledgeable. I’m very grateful for her help and would highly recommend her to anyone in need of physiotherapy.

To help other people having the operation, I would encourage them to have it and explain its hard work at first but gets easier the more work you put in yourself , meaning physio work , sticking to the plan and not doing too much or definitely to little and being patient, success will come it might take time . I'm totally pain free which probably took a good 4 months to get there , now after nearly 10 months I have no problems whatsoever!
