    Dr Rahul Mogal

    Respiratory Doctor

    5.0

    Verified

From the initial consultation to the final diagnosis, Dr. Mogal's care has been exemplary. Here is a breakdown of why: 1. Exceptional Communication and Clarity: · He took the time to explain complex scan results (like the consolidation and nodules) in a way that was easy to understand. · He openly discussed all options (watchful waiting, antibiotics, or bronchoscopy), clearly outlining the pros, cons, and his recommendation, which allowed me to make an informed decision without pressure. · He provided detailed, written information about the bronchoscopy procedure, including risks, preparation, and aftercare, which eliminated surprises and reduced anxiety. 2. Thorough, Step-by-Step Investigation: · He didn't jump to conclusions. Instead, he designed a logical plan: · Started with a full review of all existing scans and history. · Ordered comprehensive blood tests to rule out systemic causes. · Recommended the precise diagnostic tool (bronchoscopy with washings) needed to get a definitive answer for my specific lung finding. · He coordinated the procedure seamlessly at the Clementine Churchill Hospital, ensuring consultant anaesthetist support for safety and comfort. 3. Proactive and Effective Treatment: · Even before final results were in, he started empirical antibiotics to begin treating the most likely cause, showing proactive care. · Upon receiving the interim microbiology result (identifying Staphylococcus aureus), his likely plan to switch to a targeted antibiotic (Flucloxacillin) demonstrates an efficient, evidence-based approach to ensure a full cure. 4. Patient-Centered Approach: · He listened to my concerns and preferences (noting I was "keen to proceed with diagnostic bronchoscopy") and respected my choice within his medical guidance. · The entire process felt like a collaborative effort to find the answer, rather than a series of instructions. In summary, Dr. Mogal combined expertise, clear communication, and a meticulous diagnostic approach to transform a worrying and unclear situation into a clear, treatable diagnosis. I felt informed, safe, and well-cared for throughout the process. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing pulmonary care.

I went to see Mr Barua for a laser eye surgery. I had been to see two other more well-known providers for consultations but this was the only consultation where I actually got to meet my surgeon and ask him questions directly. At my consultation Mr Barua was very thorough and knowledgeable and carefully explained all my options, as well as the pros and cons of each. I needed more time to decide whether to go ahead with surgery and Mr Barua was happy to let me take the time I needed, there was no hard sell or push to book in and he also offered me another consultation if I felt I needed it. His secretary Kate was also very helpful when I did have further questions and was happy to talk over various aspects of the procedure when I called back. I had my surgery done about 6 weeks later and I felt very safe in Mr Barua's hands and his team were great. The follow ups have been easy to schedule in and again the team have been very thorough. The healing and recovery have gone well without any issues and I am very glad I opted to have Mr Barua perform my surgery.

    Mr Daniel Dowen

    Orthopaedic Surgeon

On admission to Sunderland Royal Hospital in February 2025 I was placed in the care of Mr. Dowen. I was in very severe pain in my right leg after a fall at home in November 2024. Despite earlier hospitalisation I had had 16 weeks without any alleviation of the pain. The care I received from Mr Dowen and his whole team was second to none. I couldn’t have been in better hands. Within a very few days Mr Dowen carried out a very complex operation which was followed by 48 hours in Intensive Care and I was soon totally without pain. The bedside manners of Mr Dowen and his team were excellent. All procedures were explained to me before they were carried out. Although they were all busy people they made me feel that they had all the time in the world for me. The aftercare I received on discharge was just as good with several outpatient visits arranged, mainly with Mr Dowen himself, so that he could keep tabs on my progress. I honestly don’t think I could have had any better care and will always be very grateful for the treatment I received.

My first appointment with Dr James Thing went very well though I had to phone the clinic to say that I would be late for my appointment since the taxi broke down on the way. I arrived at the clinic with my husband 15 minutes late, but I was seen by Dr Thing without further delay. He told us that there was a patient who was on hour late on that day perhaps due to the cold weather. Dr Thing checked my medical details, my knee conditions in both legs, examined my knees carefully before looking them closely on the screen. I had bilateral Ostenil Plus Knee injections while the doctor was guided by Ultrasound Scan to insert the needles into the exact area of my knees. I had a little sensation when the needles were inserted but it was done in a gentle manner that I was feeling alright throughout the time of insertion. The whole procedure went smoothly and the doctor said he would see me in a year's time. In the meantime I was to take it easy and rest well for my knees to heal and he would write me an email in three weeks' time to see how I was doing.

I had a really great experience at this private GP appointment and couldn’t fault it. From the moment I arrived, the staff were absolutely lovely, welcoming, and professional, which instantly put me at ease. The whole appointment felt calm and well organised, with no rushing at all. Dr Owen Weeks was fantastic — very kind, reassuring, and took the time to listen properly. He explained everything clearly, answered all my questions, and made me feel genuinely comfortable and cared for. It was such a refreshing experience compared to feeling rushed elsewhere. Overall, it was a great doctor’s appointment and well worth going private. I left feeling reassured and confident, and I would highly recommend this service to anyone considering it. I wouldn’t hesitate to return in the future if I ever need to — a truly positive experience from start to finish.

My wait time was excellent, I was seen ahead of my appointment time. The individual who picked me up to take me to the MRI was very friendly and kind. Unfortunately, that’s when things got somewhat awkward. The actual MRI attendant who was in charge of asking me the safety questions in advance found herself having a disagreement with a member of staff on another ward whilst with me. I understand that people are overworked and underpaid - resourcing has always been an issues (I have worked for the NHS), however, having an argument over who would tend to someone being seen after me is something that should not have happened infront of me. A joke was made of it when she hung up the phone but it was incredibly uncomfortable for me.

Luca is an outstanding therapist both at the personal and professional levels. He has been helping me through a delicate journey following a traumatic event and, besides providing exceptional counselling, he has been present, available and eager to assist during difficult situations outside the therapy room. His calming, humorous and thoughtful approach is proving very useful to deal with my anxiety - and I look forward to my sessions with him every week. Luca's genuine interest in personal stories and his ability to connect with patients make him stand out from any other therapist I've seen before. He really loves his job and it shows. Can't recommend him enough!

After seeing several gynecologists, Mr Raza was at last the most reassuring and straight forward in explaining why having a robotic laparoscopic hysterectomy would be the best way forward for me. I am now 6 weeks post op and I am feeling great. I am continuing to be amazed by how small my scar is (2cm!). I would highly recommend Mr Raza to any women doubting whether to have the operation. Every person is different of course but he is so knowledgeable, kind and professional. His PA - Sukhy - has been extremely helpful, supportive and always at the end of the line if I had any question - even during the Christmas week. Thank you !

My operation was 3.5 months ago, my check up appointment was supposed to be 4-6 weeks after. This got postponed 4/5 times due to apparent emergency surgery that was known a week in advance each time. I rang and spoke to the surgeons secretary when it was postponed again and I couldnt make the new date due to work, it kept getting postponed and explained I was having problems ( wound opening multiple times and infection ) I was told to leave work, I explained i couldn't due to my job and working away on that date over two weeks, she said we'll if you don't want the new date then don't have it. She was very rude and tone was awful.

I had booked a vitamin infusion. The whole experience was a desaster. The nurses used several needles but were not able to “find a good Vene” as they called it. They said my venes are the problem which is ridiculous as I had been to your place to get infusions multiple times and there never was a problem. As a result, I now have three large bruises and my arms hurt. I left without getting the infusion. The ladies did not even apologize. In my view, they should get proper training both when it comes to doing injections and servicing clients. I will not return.

My son needed to have two teeth extracted prior to being fitted with braces the following month. The dentist was extremely caring - especially as the procedure proved to be quite difficult due to the large roots of the teeth being pulled. It took an hour for the first tooth to finally come out - and the dentist recommended that a second appointment be made to minimise the amount of trauma caused extracting both teeth in one go. The appointment was made while the procedure was still ongoing - which was very efficient and was a relief for my son.

Dr. Agathou was extremely thorough during my visit. She managed to sift through my long, rather complex medical history in conversation and deliver a very detailed, accurate clinical summary. Dr. Agathou was warm, understanding, and very knowledgeable. Since my appointment, she and her Secretary, Abdulaziz, also worked hard to ensure that I have critical medication, despite supply constraints. I look forward to continuing to work with Dr. Agathou.

No worries at all. Am a little confused with the form filling in via the web site, and I am inundated with reminders to fill them in both on the Internet and on my phone. It often makes me wonder if you have received them? Everything absolutely fine otherwise... My deafness causes me a problem, but once I have reminded the staff I am deaf, then they always make sure I understand what they are saying.

His explanations were very clear and easy to understand, and I never felt rushed at any point. I came away feeling reassured and confident in both the surgery and the care I was receiving.
