I am very happy with the results of my double hip-replacement surgery. I can see from the x-ray that the prosthesises are equal, which is very important to me as I have a severe scoliosis, and I need pelvic stability to avoid back ache and other related problems. I'm an ex-dancer with extreme flexibility, and although I am hoping to return to dancing, Mr Patel has warned me that I will have to greatly modify what I used to be able to do, and he fully explained the consequences of over-stretching. I obviously don't want to risk damaging or dislocating my hips, so I really appreciate his warnings. Right now, I am happy to walk "properly" (without limping) and without any pain. I am very grateful to Mr Patel for doing such a great job, and I consider myself lucky that he was able to do both hips.

Mr Patel is a lovely man who I found to be caring, considerate and very reassuring at all stages of the procedure. If I need to have similar surgery again, I would hope it would be him operating. Good experience.

I was very fortunate to have had my surgery performed at Shirley Oaks Hospital, by Mr Jignesh Patel. I can’t thank Mr Patel enough for his great explanation of the procedure. His upbeat and positive attitude on the day of surgery. I am normally an anxious person, however Mr Patel put my mind at ease to the point I was excited to get it done! Mr Patel said he would look after me and he definitely stuck to his word. He did an amazing job on my knee, I am truly grateful for my amazing experience. And my aftercare was amazing too, all staff are just lovely and very caring. Thank you Mr Patel and all staff I appreciate you all.

I would rate the physiotherapy very highly. I like that the physiotherapy continues for longer after individual sessions have finished with group sessions. Tejal, the physiotherapist is a very professional, pleasant young lady who has helped me a lot. The operation went well without any complications. I found the pain management medication in the early days not sufficient but that is no fault on the clinical staff rather that I can't take codeine due to an intolerance I have developed to it in recent years,
