Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, Mr Zameer Shah, specialises in hip and knee surgery at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals in London, where he carries out routine hip and knee surgery and takes on complex referrals from across the country. He also treats a wide range of conditions including sports injuries, arthritis, and trauma.
Mr Shah gained his medical qualification in 1997 from Kings College London before training in a number of different surgical areas in Cambridge, Oxford, and London. He later spent time as a research fellow at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital where he studied the use of stem cells. Mr Shah was chosen as an International Fellow at the renowned Insall Scott Kelly Institute and at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. Upon his return to the UK, he went on to complete a second Fellowship at Guy's Hospital.
Mr Shah has a passion for research and education. He is currently a Senior Clinical Lecturer at Kings College London and is also involved in national trials and programs to further medical knowledge.
In his time outside of the hospital, Mr Shah enjoys football, cricket, tennis, badminton, and mountaineering. He also enjoys travelling, reading history, and learning to play the piano.

Clear and concise

Dr Shah was recommended to me by my Physio when I was discussing the issues with my knee. Coming from a family of clinicians with my father a retired Orthopaedic Surgeon it was so important to me to find an appropriate knee surgeon. After 5 weeks of Dr Shah's care I have not been dissapointment. Dr Shah has been incredibly professional, supportive, understanding and thorough with his diagnosis and prognosis. His team have also been extremely caring particularly his PA Aamira who again has been very professional. I can only thank and highly recommend Dr Shah and his team to patients that seek a dedicated Orthopaedic Surgeon.

Mr Shah performed a hip replacement operation for me. He visited me prior to the operation and explained the procedure and answered any questions that I had. He then visited me afterwards to inform me that all had gone well. He was helpful and calm and gave me confidence in the procedure.

Mr Shah was very thorough with clear explanations of everything he was doing. He shared his thoughts on what the issue could be prior to confirming post imaging. Gave a clear treatment and maintenance plan to remediate the issue with an expected timeline Would recommend and see again if needed
