i underwent a radical prostatectomy for a grade 2 c prostate carcinoma. using the da Vinci robotic system by Professor Greg Shaw. I found him to be easy to talk to and he explained my surgical and non surgical options at our first appointment. He gave me confidence and also explained the possible complications from surgery. I opted for the Robotic surgery which was expertly performed. The first post operative day I was sleepy but absolutely without discomfort. I live some distance from London and as a result I was given the option of a two night stay. The second day i did have a little discomfort to my upper back but it was easily resolved with paracetamol. I was warned by Prof Shaw that this would happen and it was due to the gas that was infused into the abdomen to help with visualisation of the prostate and to to reduce the bleeding. The mild discomfort was gone by day 4 and I was fully mobile by day 2. It is early days and the urinary catheter was removed just under a week ago and although I can feel he need to pass urine at night so I remain mostly dry the sensation has only returned a little during the day but every day is better than the previous one. In short the surgery for me was easy and the post operative course has been good. The urinary problems I was warned about and I feel sure it will be only a week further before I am dry. i would recommend Prof Shaw to you without hesitation he is a most pleasant gentleman and I have confidence in him both as a communicator and as a surgeon.

Had a very warm welcoming at Abbington house, staff and peers were very nice. Room was nice, quite overwhelming to start with, with it being my first time at rehab. I then started to feel more comfortable with the help of the staff and my peers, putting me out of my comfort zone probably was the best thing they could of done otherwise I wouldn’t of been so open. Staff very accommodating, my therapist was very empathetic, I got on with her very well, opened up slowly but eventually we got there. I still feel I have stuff to work on, my co dependency and self love but I know that will come in time, from outside sources, just think they should not of mentioned that I would be getting DBT therapy whilst I was here as that was one of the selling points to me coming to Abbington house. The only other down side was prior to coming in I was told I would have at least one, one to one a week. But that did not happen for the the first 3 weeks, so felt a bit let down, so did my parents which they then raised there concerned to Mikey, who was quick to come up with 2 options to compensate this, which I thought was very good.

Dr. Jayaram has been very kind, professional and attentive throughout the consultation and was very thorough when examining my eyes. He was reassuring as he explained the medical condition of my eyes in clear and simple terms and the options that may be available to me in the future. I had a hip replacement in 2011 at just 47 years of age. For two years it was good but then became problematic. I revisited my original surgeon on numerous occasions, had numerous X rays, scans and injections but to no avail. After some 7/8 years of this I was removed from list as I was told there was no issue with the hip itself. Some 2 years later the pain had gotten worse and so I referred myself back to Broadgreen Hospital. Fortunately for me this time under Mr UI Islam. He reviewed scans, X rays etc and quickly identified that hip joint had dropped hence the issues I was having. He explained the potential risks of further surgery and we decided it was worth the risk. 3 days after surgery in what he tells me was a fairly complex operation I was out of hospital. Hip is better than it has been in 15 years. I am so grateful to Mr UI Islam and could not speak highly enough of him. I have a life back because of him.

The team at Newmedica from the receptionists to the optometrists, nurses and Mr Anjari my consultant were so welcoming and made me feel at ease from the moment I arrived. I was quite anxious about having cataract surgery, but the team made me feel relaxed each time I visited. Mr Anjari was very reassuring and spent time helping me decide which lenses were right for me. The surgery was quick, and painless - so efficient., I had no need to worry about going back for the second one. The aftercare was excellent too with a phone check up and another thorough appointment. Mr Anjari helped me choose Galaxy lenses … I can’t believe how clearly I can see near and far ! It is nothing short of miraculous after living in a blur for years! I am now able to read the smallest print yet look across a field and identify birds in the trees. I’ll be forever thankful to Mr Anjari and his team for the transformation of my sight.

I saw Mr Wu for my carpal tunnel syndrome which I had had for many years. I was just ignoring it as I didn’t want surgery. When I first saw him he was so professional and reassuring. I had my nerve conduction tests done and it demonstrated moderate carpal tunnel syndrome. I then assumed I could leave well alone and he very kindly and assertively said I should have surgery because if I left it the surgery might not be so successful. I had endoscopic surgery under a local block. The whole surgical experience was amazing. His whole theatre team were kind and efficient. My symptoms were cured immediately and I had my first good nights sleep for years. At 6 weeks the hand has healed so well and I’m even back to playing golf. I feel the signs to tell you where to go could be clearer my mobility is not good had quite a long walk to get inside the building. My ultrasound scan was carried out with such speed I felt it was rushed, I had to ask for white paper roll to protect my clothes from being wet from the gel ,while the scan was being carried out the nurse sat behind the consultant on his chair ! I feel she should have been at the bottom of the couch standing at my feet reassuring me & asking if I was comfortable.kingsbridge give “an excellent 1st class experience re procedures” I’m afraid in my appointment this was not the case , over the years i have had many experiences with ultrasound and this was the worst , i could not have been on the couch anymore than 4 or 5 minutes very disappointing.

While it is not his specialty, he has gone above and beyond to try and help me with a personal medical matter. In addition he has worked with me virtually as I have moved to another city, unable to get into London, and allowed me to use a different provider for bloodwork. It's bedside manner like this which keeps me going back to him as a private medical provider. He's clearly at the top of his field in knowledge and experience, but his personal touch to how he treats is patients is what makes him a fabulous doctor.

Mr Attilakos was incredibly attentive, calm and encouraging every step of the way through our pregnancy. He had endless patience for our first-time parents to be and kept an encyclopaedic knowledge to reassure and take action where needed. During labour, he was very present and warm and we are so incredibly grateful to have him be the one to welcome our daughter. We trust him completely. I walked away from labour with such a positive experience that helped buoy me into those delicate newborn weeks with strength and confidence, and Mr Attilakos was a large reason for that.

they were very considerate considering I was terrified as once before I had to press the button. I couldn’t go through with it and I had to go to an open scanner as they were about to place me through. I had to stop them. They gave me time to recompose and got me to look backwards and upwards and out through the exposed end and that made the whole experience different can’t tell you how relieved I am to get through that. I’m highly claustrophobic so yes, the experience was a positive one.
