It hardly classed as a visit given the appointment was less than 10 minutes. Mr Al-Lami himself was professional, polite and efficient. But given his reception staff at Kent ENT had called me multiple times to book the initial appointment following referral, and then called again to change the date of the appointment, it would have been appreciated if they had at least once outlined the fees involved. While Mr Al-Lami's consultation fees are on the website (out of date by the way, it lists £195 and I was charged £200), they could have clarified that there will be an additional charge for the procedure, and then another charge on top of that from the hospital. So the approx £200 I had planned to spend ballooned to close to £500 for a ten minute appointment. You have to love those hidden costs. Mr Al-Lami had to spend the first few minutes of the appointment outlining these costs, and at this point you feel railroaded as you've already paid close to £200 for the appointment, so if you decline the additional costs required, you've essentially spent that money on an undiagnosed chat. All in all an appalling experience, and the practitioner should hold whoever is booking his appointments to a higher standard when booking new clients in, and make it necessary to explain the full fee breakdown in advance.

By the time I left my appointment I was smiling & feeling so much happier as Mr Brown explained the whole event to me & even showed me the CT Scan images showing my brain bleed. I think when something traumatic happens to you out of blue you wake up not knowing what has happened so to have someone who is so professional explain everything to you I felt this was priceless as I walked away from my appointment a much happier person with the knowledge I needed to understand. Arriving at the Lyndhurst Rooms for a Blood test and a CT scan in the hospital. Reception were polite quick and efficient. The Phlebotomist was professional and conducted the tests well. Absolutely fine. However, the CT scan is conducted by the hospital radiology department. Waiting times were extended at the radiology reception(NHS) and in the department(NHS) before the scan. The staff were as expected very good and professional, no issue there, but the waiting time over and above the booked time was between 45minutes to one hour overdue. I have had similar scans in different facities previousy and this does not compare with the London Clinic which is fully private and the same private insurance payer is paying for a private service. the RFH Private Patients could do a lot better.

Prompt replies from both Gina on reception, and Dr Emma Noble, asking about my travel plans and countries, appointment arranged and before you know it, I am fully prepped & ready to go. Dr Paul Wiseman was masterful. I had to get 4 different vaccines and barely felt anything. Very personable, put me at my ease. Pointed me to the websites recommended by Department of Health / Foreign affairs for most up to date advice and important steps I can take as a traveller (hand washing, mosquito nets etc). I’m new to the practice, having previously been with a Bupa dentist, so the experience felt quite different. My recent visit was to see the hygienist, and while the appointment went smoothly overall, I did feel that it was quite brief and didn’t focus as much on the deeper, more thorough cleaning I’m used to. Additionally, I usually receive tailored advice during my visits, but this time there wasn’t much guidance offered. Perhaps it wasn’t necessary, but overall, it felt as though the hygienist wasn’t as thorough as I would have expected.

Staff were excellent - both clinical and non clinical team members. Nothing was too much bother and they went over and above our expectations of the care we thought we would receive. We spent 2 nights on the Clayton Ward after I had an unplanned c section. As first time parents without close family nearby, the Clayton ward offered us the guidance, support and care we needed as a new family but also to allow me to get the appropriate medical care as part of post surgery recovery.

The most recent visit was the second day they had transitioned to a new system, which was causing chaos. I waited 10 minutes to register at the main reception, then waited another 10 to register at Borough Reception, and then waited for over 30 minutes for a walk in blood test. Everyone was very apologetic, but it was inconvenient. I hope the new system leads to a more streamlined system once everyone is used to it in future.
