I recently visited Fitzrovia Hospital and had an excellent experience from start to finish. The facility is clean, well organised, and welcoming, but what truly stood out was the care of all staff, friendly, supportive and specifically the exceptional care provided by Kate. Kate was warm attentive, and incredibly professional throughout my visits. She took time to care for me and explain all things clearly, was patient and I felt hugely comfortable and supported. Her kindness and calm approach made a huge difference, and I genuinely felt in safe hands. A professional surgical process and experience with timely post op follow up with due care and attention by each and every staff member. Highly recommend.

Impossible to speak to anyone in Cambridge which was very frustrating. am used to being seen privately and this did not come up to the usual standard. Although the staff were very polite and friendly I felt that nobody was sure what to do and did not fill me with confidence. I have never gone privately and only seen the surgeon on the day of the operation with no follow up appointment with the actual surgeon. I was left with a cut on the skin to the left of my eye and an indentation across my eyebrow which I feel had probably been caused by the clamp used to keep my eyelid open. I was left feeling that for some reason the private sector in Cambridge was struggling. A great pity.

The Horder Centre

My overall experience was excellent. However when I got home I found I wasn't completely sure/ had forgotten exactly when and how to take all the medicines I was given and when to stop e.g. how slowly to reduce the codeine when I didn't need it any more. Clearly printed instructions to take home would have been reassuring straight away and later. I know I could have rung the Horder Centre any time for advice but at 82 years old my hearing is less than perfect and I worry I shall not remember everything I hear afterwards. The Horder hip replacement book is excellent and is still a constant source of referral and encouragement.

I was confused about my treatment options and desperate for relief from my menopause symptoms, but from the very start, I was met with respect and empathy. It’s such a safe space where women can openly discuss every part of their menopause journey. I’ve now started HRT, and after just two weeks, I’m already feeling the benefits of having a treatment plan tailored to me. I had bunion surgery with Mr. David Gordon in late June. It was all straightforward, exactly how Mr. Gordon explained it in his online meeting. He did additional surgery on two of my small toes, which has also greatly improved my mobility. My recovery has been swift with almost no pain or swelling. I'm really pleased with my 'new toes'. The only slight niggle I have is with the coordation with the London Clinic. I paid for a package but got chased by their accounts department. Generally I think there needs to be an easy system that makes follow ups more stream lined.

Holly House and its staff are excellent. The whole atmosphere was one of cleanliness, professionalism and friendliness Particular mention should go to Mo, my nurse throughout the day. He was calm, honest and made me feel comfortable and that my concerns were listened to. A great asset to the staff. (My only complaint was I was told to arrive at 6.30am, as I was to be first on the list at 7.30am; to then be told my operation would not be until midday. I didn't even bring a book! However, I did get to watch four episodes of Frasier back-to-back, so it wasn't all bad!)

From the very first consultation, he was incredibly professional, calm, and reassuring, taking the time to patiently explain everything in a clear and thoughtful way. This immediately put me at ease. My recovery has been sound and straightforward, which is a real testament to his skill and expertise. My overall experience was excellent, from the reception staff, being taken to the room, the 1:1 pre-operative discussions with Dr Lowe and Dr Barnard, to the nursing staff (continuity of the nursing staff and Daisy's approach and empathy), the theatre team and the post procedure care. I mentioned to Dr Lowe how impressed I was with the communication between the theatre team, which provided a great deal of confidence. I should also mention how well they communicated with me on a 1:1 basis explaining what they were doing.

I had a very good experience, every one was professional, clear and friendly. The op went well and I was sent home the same day with some pain killers, which I only needed for 2 days. For the past 8 years, I had been suffering with indigestion, bloating and gas. But within 6 weeks of the operation I am completely free of discomfort. To be honest I had not made a connection between the re-occurrence of the hernia and the indigestion problems. I am delighted to say that at 70 I feel I have a new lease of life.
