I had my varicose vein scan with Louis and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the start, he made me feel relaxed, comfortable, and confident that I was being properly looked after. Louis explained everything in a really easy-to-understand way and talked me through the scan as it was happening, which helped put me completely at ease. The ultrasound was very thorough, and it was clear he really knows what he’s doing, nothing felt rushed, and he took his time to check everything properly. What I appreciated most was how calm and reassuring Louis was throughout the appointment. He made sure I understood what was going on, what the scan showed, and what the next steps might be, without using complicated medical language or making it feel overwhelming. The whole appointment felt professional but friendly, and I left feeling informed, reassured, and confident in the advice I was given. From first contacting my GP who could have referred me to a podiatrist but asked me to decide on whether it was appropriate (a decision for which I have no expertise to make) in late May it took over 3 months to see Mr Qasim (via TIMS during which I obtained no advice to go back to GP to get podiatrist referral, but instead a referral to Mr Qasim for steroid injection). However, the podiatrist at Freeman said steroid was no longer suitable due to second toe having developed a hammer deformity by then (mid-November). I think I should have been referred straight to Freeman, not via TIMS and Mr Qasim because I had months of delay and pain while I waited, thus affecting my ability to do my job as a nurse.

On arrival, and in good time, there was a huge que at the reception desk with only one member of staff trying to deal with patients. We waiting a very long time even to be acknowledged so, not wanting to be late for our appointment, we made our own way to the area A. We were then approached another member of staff in Area A who was able to give us the forms we should have received at reception. Knowing that a significant number of patients were due in the recetion should have been fully staffed with an expeditious way in processing through.

The booking team are very unhelpful. They are not following the doctors instructions and offer appointments that are spread out throughout the day. There needs to be clear communication between them. My doctors secretary has ignored the doctors instructions and failed to respond to my email to address my appointment schedules. This has caused me to waste 4 weeks. I only came to your clinic as I wanted to see a world renowned doctor. Sadly your service has tainted that doctor’s reputation.

The staff at Cathedral Clinic were very professional and tried to make me comfortable. However the actual procedure was not an enjoyable experience. having anaesthetic injected into my eye was very traumatic and having gone through the procedure before and it not 100% and having to return for Laser. I so hope that my left eye will not have the same result. Overall I would recommend the clinic and staff to anyone who has to have the procedure done. Bernadette M.
