I had laparoscopy surgery in July 2025 to remove endometriosis and to investigate other pain I had been experiencing. Over the years (through multiple surgeries and over 10 years in the healthcare system) I have often felt ignored and dismissed. However, my experience with Mr Gan was completely different, it was the smoothest process I’ve ever had, and I truly felt supported and listened to at every stage. Mr Gan went above and beyond to ease my symptoms, even extending the surgery at no extra cost in an effort to improve my daily symptoms. He was kind, compassionate, and exceptionally skilled in his role. For context, since my operation in July, my chronic back pain has reduced to almost zero… a huge change for me. Although surgery can be a daunting experience as a young woman, I felt reassured and at ease with Mr Gan. He took time to explain everything clearly and always made sure my concerns were heard. Since the operation, I haven’t simply been discharged… instead, I’ve had regular check-ins to ensure my recovery is on track and that the next steps are clear.

I found Mr Patrini to be a wonderful surgeon. He explained the procedure thoroughly, outlining both the benefits and risks, and never attempted to persuade me one way or the other, leaving the decision entirely up to me. Before the operation, he once again went through the procedure and potential risks, answering all my questions as well as those of my husband and daughter. Following the operation, he spoke with my husband to explain how it went, and I also saw him personally afterwards. He visited me again on Wednesday and Thursday morning, examined me, and answered all of my questions in full. In addition, he kept my husband updated directly. In conclusion, I would describe Mr Patrini as a conscientious, patient-centred surgeon who combines clarity with genuine care.

My visit for follow up physio after shoulder replacement was , on the whole very good . That said and only because you have asked for an honest opinion , the only problem that I encountered was communication between myself and the practitioner. I know that many medical practitioners come from abroad and that they are excellent at their job . Because I struggled to understand sometimes key parts of conversations , this led to misinterpretation on my part . I consider that I am a good communicator but I did find it hard . All that said the physio has put me back on the right track and hopefully the outcome will be fine . It’s hard to criticise good people . Hopefully this will help with your understanding of patients experiences .

Sotiris was amazing, I was in awe of his knowledge and experience. Whilst on the operating table i felt like he was fine tuning my meds like a pianist tunes his piano. His bed side manner was impeccable, I was naturally anxious going in for my c section - my first ever major surgery but I needn’t of worried at all, he was funny, reassuring and made me feel so so calm, he even had a sing along to my birthing playlist with me and he also doubled up as a photographer and took some incredible pics and videos! I honestly felt privileged to be in his care - Can’t praise him enough! Sotiris and Dana together are an incredible team. Thank you!

My wife is in hospital for an operation today and due to prior anxieties over NHS treatment, we asked the hospital for me to stay with my wife in the room throughout including overnight. They have been most accommodating and have bent over backwards to make it work and kept me fully informed throughout how the operation is going. The consultant was more than happy for me to ask questions both during consultations and the surgery today and has given great confidence that all will go as planned. Ward staff have been more than helpful to both of us and treated us as individuals and my wife has been provided a high level of care throughout.

Mr Vachtsevanos is a very warm and friendly surgeon and explained the procedure I had undergone in detail with views of X-rays taken. I was very fortunate and grateful to be able to express concerns about my other knee and had various X-rays taken and given a full explanation of findings and plan with regards this at the same appointment.

Really good experience. I received excellent care and support throughout. Mr Anandan explained everything clearly and I had no worries beforehand whatsoever. The operation was quick and painless and my vision was immediately improved. I was extremely short sighted with stigmatisms in both eyes and had worn glasses or contact lenses since the age of 11. I can now see clearly without any need for glasses, neither for distance or reading. Absolutely amazing!

I have been a regular for years now however on this occasion i was unfortunate to get a small infection which hasnt previously happened. Obviously it caused some mild panic but i can honestly say Pauline has been a god send. She has been in constant contact asking for pictures, calling me and reassuring me. I wasn't told there was a car park I could use right outside the Handover clinic so paid to use the hospital car park and walked up the road. There was over half an hour wait for our appointment but overall a good experience.
