Firstly I want to say a huge thanks to the nightingale in general. I’m struggling to put into words quite what an impact this place has had on me. I am healthier in body and soul. I have felt heard and seen. I have grown. I both realise how validly difficult some of my lived experiences have been whilst simultaneously learning from others just how lucky I am. I want to give a particularly big shout out to everyone involved in cleaning and maintenance to help this crumbling building also grow along side us. I also want to shout out all of the staff on floor 4. Again I am lost for words as to express how much of an impact they had on me as a human. Particularly shout out to nana for always being present and warm and sharing music with me. To Nordia for reminding me to put my health first. To Anna for just ALWAYS taking good care of me. To Mohammed for sharing how my soul works with kind words. To everyone who took me out for escorted leave to feel less boxed in and had a laugh and helped me feel like a real individual with a voice. All of this being said I know that there are still some things that run a bit deeper, more systemic, that need to be changed. I will be back with some more feedback on these aspects soon but for now it feels most important to say THANK YOU!!!!! (No AI was used in this letter of thanks)

Mr Marcos Kostalas

I was recently referred to Mr Kostalos by my haematology Dr, for ongoing and worsening bowel symptoms. So much so, that I was at the stage of being unable to eat! My weight was dropping like a stone! And trying to live a life on a limited liquid diet whilst receiving chemotherapy. Mr. Kostalos saw me and admitted me on the same day (even though he’d been in theatre doing an emergency operation throughout the night!) and operated the next day. What an amazing person he is. I spent 2 days in intensive care (more so for the fact of only recently having had a chemotherapy session, and I was able to be monitored better) but as soon as I was moved to a surgical ward for the rest of my recovery, Mr Kostalos visited every morning to check in on my progress. His bedside manner is 100% his knowledge is spot on as is surgical expertise. Today he contacted me to ask how I was getting on and to also tell me the results of the section of bowel that he removed. (Incidentally was good news) This gentleman has given me my life back, for which I will be forever grateful. Mr Kostalos, I cannot thank you enough.

Kingsbridge North West Hospital

If I had had my post procedure check with the Consultant who did the procedure at Kingsbridge and not at Specsavers, who referred me. I would not have had to make the recent appointment. I would have been able to ask the questions and get answers that Specsavers were not able to reassure me about. My recent appointment with Mr. Spence did exactly that. I explained my concerns about my after procedure experience and he was able to explain in detail and reassure me. Had my 6 weeks post procedure appointment be been with my consultant at Kingsbridge I would have been able to have my concerns answered then and would not have gone through weeks of worry, 2 visits to Specsavers (one which I was charged £25 for a full eye health check which I did not need) The reason I booked the last appointment at Kingsbridge was because I had concerns and was getting no answers. I therefore feel it is important that the post procedure check should be with the consultant who carried out the procedure, so that any worries or concerns can be addressed.

Professional in all aspects of the procedure from initial discussion through to post operation care. A very calming presence ,who instilled confidence in both patient and my wife. He remembered my wife on the atrium and gave a full reassuring accoun̈t to her which was important in the context of her being reassured as well as myself. It was a highly complex procedure which obviously required a high level of professional ability and skill , and the surgical team worked seamlessly under the direction of Dr. Strange. Both personally and professionally Dr. Strange is confident and I felt lucky to be under his supervision.

I had my first specialist appointment at Harley Street yesterday and I was really impressed. The staff were lovely, the doctor who I saw (Professor Prasanna Sooriakumaran) had a welcoming nature and has helped me already in one visit. I asked for an appointment on Monday and was seen within a couple of days which I am very grateful for (I have a busy work schedule). I am looking forward to my next visit to receive excellent service again. I also wanted to mention that a staff member (lady) on reception was friendly and had a lovely approach. Overall, amazing service and thank you again.

Mr. Sobti was friendly, professional, confident, and I felt he knew what he was doing. His examination of a very painful thigh was gentle and sympathetic. I felt I was in good hands, and his care was thorough. I would recommend him. I must add that Ally, (his secretary) was also incredibly helpful. A doctor's administrative staff are very important. Ally answered the phone and my queries out of hours with the same courtesy and helpfulness that every patient dreams of. It is rare.

We received a warm welcome to the clinic, as we had a long drive and arrived early...we were offered as many drinks and biscuits as we wanted whilst waiting for my sons appointment on comfy chairs. The clinic was clean and tidy. The consultant who did my sons ultrasound was very friendly, asked questions, spoke to my son directly and made him feel comfortable. The ultrasound was done and spoke to us about the results giving clear instructions and advice. Excellent practice! Would recommend.

Parking was free, so I didn't worry about how long I'd be. The staff were so friendly, from the person on the front desk who directed me, to those in the MRI department who explained what to expect clearly. I could have left my shoes on! They found the music of my choice on Spotify, which helped me totally relax. You need this louder than you initially think as the scanner is quite noisy. I kept my eyes closed the whole time and almost fell asleep!!!!

My only criticism is that the follow up call to go through the results should be mandatory and included within a combined cost.
