Having recently been diagnosed with prostate cancer, I was keen to get a 'second opinion' on both the diagnosis as presented by the findings of my MRI and biopsy, and the summary of options presented by my own NHS Trust in the west country. A (doctor) friend in London recommended I seek the expertise of Mr Gordon as a specialist in Urology. I provided Mr Gordon's secretary with all relevant medical details and scans from the MRI and biopsy and a video consultation was arranged within 48 hrs. Understandably the number of questions in my own mind grew in the days following my diagnosis, so I prepared a long question bank which ranged from general questions on each of the three main options through to more specific enquiries regarding my own personal circumstances including age and health and the potential impact of surgery and radiotherapy etc. Mr Gordon answered in clear yet easy to understand terms. No questions or concerns were left unanswered. The outcome of the consultation provided me with much clearer insight into the three main options and from that my chosen course of action was made much easier.

The Spire Wellesley is a quiet calm hospital. The facilities are always clean and well cared for, the staff attentive and pleasant. You can expect the path of your time with them to be fully and clearly explained and information of who will attend you, when and for what reason. You are prepared as soon as you arrive and surgery follows swiftly, which leaves you very little time to overthink or get anxious. I was never left worried, every member of staff introduced themselves and did whatever was necessary to reassure me and provide whatever was needed. It was all very quick and over before I knew it, for which I am grateful. You certainly will not be left hungry or thirsty, food is excellent, the selection is wide. My stay was relatively short, my surgery went well, my recovery and activity level after surgery good and whilst I could have stayed a 2nd night I was allowed to go home as there were no concerns. So I was on for a little over 24hrs altogether.

I had the most wonderful experience with Dr Sotiris who looked after me for my c-section. From the moment we met him, I felt fully reassured that I am in the best hands. He has the most calming and gentle approach and I felt that he cared deeply about my wellbeing during and after the procedure. He explained in details what to expect prior, during and after the surgery which provided me with lots of reassurance. I also really appreciated that he came and visited me the next day to check on me and make sure that I am recovering okay. Next to his outstanding medical skills, he is also an excellent photo/videographer :) who captured long lasting memories for us during the birth of our baby. Mr Ho has been my consultant for about 10 years, ever since I lost half my sight in my right eye. Since that time he has helped me make informed decisions regarding my treatment.. He treated the cateract in my left eye and the improvement was immediate. I thought that was the end but he suggested that my macular hole in my right eye could be improved with invetrioretinal surgery. He explained in detail what would happen and I felt confident in his expertise. It was no surprise that my treatmenrt was a complete success . I have always found Mr Ho ,pleasant, informaitive. and caring I have complete faith in his judgement and ability. and feel he does the very best for his patients.

An Excellent experience all round from initial consultation with Mr Farndon right through to Day Surgery & re couperation the best thing I ever did despite some of the negative advice from my GP & others - it's Very Painful ....I wouldn't have it done again....I was fully informed by Mr Farndon - made me feel at ease both at consultation & final visit 6 weeks after surgery. Thank You so much Mr Farndon as I mentioned I can wear my fave shoes again 👏 but more importantly I'm back to doing what I do including exercise & general wellbeing ....that's a big thing when you have a Bunion as it starts to dictate ... Not any more Fantastic Job Mr Farndon I will recommend if in asked 👌

Nurse caused me to bruise during a painful blood test. I always have trouble with veins appearing during tests and told the nurse which one tends to work the best; nurse insisted on going for a different one, causing pain and bruising. Nurse also used clumsy and offensive language when talking about another patient: “A man came in the other day - he’s a ‘they’ - he…”. Given that your clinic markets your service extensively to trans and non-binary people, I find it surprising that your staff wouldn’t see a problem with openly and deliberately misgendering a customer. Please do better to avoid making customers like me feel alienated.

Having followed Professor Reid’s regime of a year of Evenity followed by an infusion of Zolendronic acid (plus of course, lifestyle measures eg weight-bearing exercise, vitamin D, a calcium-and protein-rich diet) 3 years on from my first consultation my spine is now -1.9! Downstairs work being done to the building. Noisy and lots of stuff/materials over the waiting room floor. I found the whole experience poor considering this is a private paying surgery. I understand the work needs to be done, however for a patient it is not ideal by a long shot. Not a relaxing atmosphere or acceptable. This is the second time I have been and the same building work being done.

Unfortunately, the anaesthetic injected into my hip bled across to my sciatic nerve and my entire right leg went numb after I left, and until the next day. Dr Seth eventually explained to me that this is rare, which I understand. But trying to contact him by the time I'd got home was very difficult: I called 3 times, roughly an hour apart, before I had a call back.
