Here’s my story and without being overly dramatic, how Dr Chawla saved my life and the life of my baby. I had a high risk pregnancy due to a bicornate uterus, previous classical cesarean (vertical instead of horizontal incision of the uterus) and previous premature birth. We decided to seek private care when I felt that the midwives I saw didn’t understand the risks I was facing and I was referred to the wrong clinic to discuss my birth plan. I reached out to Dr Chawla after watching her introduction on the UCLH website and a friend who was in her care a year ago recommended her. As I was already 32 weeks pregnant and facing a high risk of uterine rupture, Dr Chawla made time to see me in less than 24 hours after I reached out to her. During our initial appointment, she truly listened to me and my husband, understood our concerns, the risks which we were willing to take and the risks which we were not willing to take. She explained the pros and cons of different choices, backed by data. We knew she was the right doctor for us before we walked out of the appointment. At 34+3 weeks, my uterus did rupture. As soon as I felt any discomfort, I phoned Dr Chawla and she answered on the first ring. She advised me to head to the MFAU at UCLH and keep her posted. Once I was seen at the MFAU, Dr Chawla was able to give instructions to the midwife over the phone and liaise with the team on the labour ward to make sure that my situation was given the urgency it required. Dr Chawla arrived promptly at UCLH and took me to the operating room. She acted with confidence and coordinated the actions of the whole team swiftly, not wasting any time. I lost 3.5L of blood due to the rupture. In this situation, I was facing a potential hysterectomy and even death. But Dr Chawla managed to control the bleeding and save my uterus. Her swift actions made sure that our baby girl is taken out as soon as possible, reducing any birth trauma she could have experienced. She’s doing very well while we are at the neonatal unit establishing feeds before going home soon. Despite the complexity of the surgery, my recovery has been much easier than after my previous c-section. The scar is smaller, it appears thinner and is not painful at all. Dr Chawla visited me frequently during my 3-day stay in the hospital, showing concern for both my physical and emotional recovery. She also reached out after I was discharged. I know that I can seek her advice anytime in case needed. Last but not least, it was very obvious to me that Dr Chawla is extremely highly regarded by all her colleagues at UCLH. Due to the circumstances, we don’t plan for another pregnancy. But if we were to have another baby, I’ll be in Dr Chawla’s care from day 1. I’ll also recommend her to all my family and friends! From my initial appointment with Mr Hoo, I felt all my questions were answered and felt at ease, from the onset I knew I would choose Mr Hoo as my surgeon. I had done a lot of research for my procedure and felt reassured from my initial appointment. Pauline (Mr Hoo’s nurse) was also very informative and patient regarding any questions which I had. My surgery was booked and due to unforeseen circumstances had to rescheduled, Brenda in appointments was very helpful and offered me a cancellation slot which I was very thankful for. On the day of surgery, I was admitted into the admission pod and here all staff were attentive, I met with the anaesthetist and Mr Hoo and thereafter went to theatre. The theatre nurse and anaesthetist were so lovely, talked me through everything and I felt reassured. Thereafter, in the recovery ward, the nurse was excellent when asked about pain, I was immediately given pain meds which eased the pain and brought upstairs to a room which the excellent care continued. Mr Hoo came to see me and answer any further questions, truly 5* service from the onset. The hospital was spotless and attention to detail by all staff was exceptional.

My consultation and treatment with Dr. Humpries has been superb, form start to finish. From first consultation, coming as a patient from another consultant, through the colonoscopy and post procedure results follow up, Dr. Humphries was always extremely kind, taking all the time needed to hear my concerns and address all questions I had, and has always put me at ease, explaining things in a clear and calm manner, leaving no stone unturned regards treatment options and making me feel reassured after the procedures done. I have no words to express my gratitude to him, and all his team of assistants, nurses, and his exceptional PA, Kristina Cervenanska, who has been outstanding, on helping me arranging things in such short notice, from day one. Dr. Strange performed an angiogram/fitted a stent for my husband in October 2025. He was clear, decisive and reassuring throughout the process and afterwards. His genuine concern for his patients is best demonstrated by the way in which he responded quickly and positively to my husband's situation, adding him to an existing list at a few days notice. Even more impressively, he also took the time on that day to discuss with me an incident which had led to my admission to A and E two days earlier, recommended and arranged an angiogram and provided a quick, helpful diagnosis and management plan. It was beyind what we could have expected and I am very grateful to him - for both of us.

I attended Luiza’s group classes initially and then moved on to 1-to-1 sessions once I was heavily pregnant. She has an incredible ability to modify exercises to suit each person’s individual needs, even within a group setting. Her attention to detail, precision, and ability to make subtle adjustments made a huge difference to my strength and mobility throughout pregnancy. On top of that, she’s a genuinely lovely and caring person, which makes such a difference when you’re navigating pregnancy. It’s easy to see why her classes are always booked weeks in advance. I had my just under 3 year old toddler meet Dr Devereux last week at the end of my tether, as I was not getting the answers from other health care avenues with regards to my daughter's gradual deteriorating health. I went to see Mr Shukla about an issue with my finger. He was really great and we have a date to get the issue sorted. However, he went over and beyond for me - I mentioned my shoulder issue and whilst I went for an x-ray on my finger he (just because he was interested) pulled out my previous shoulder x-ray and offered me a solution that no one else has mentioned in the several years I have been having problems. I am still blown away by him and so grateful that I now have an option to sort my other issue! Thank you Mr S, you are my Christmas hero!

He came to see me after and explained everything. With Mr Ferguson I was in and out the same day. When I had it done at the NHS I was in hospital a week. His Secretary Charlotte is also excellant. The make a good team!!
