I attended the clinic for cataract surgery on my L eye on the 19th February 2026. The support nurse who looked after me both pre and post surgery was friendly and supportive and put me at ease. She also gave me excellent information and guidance with regard to post surgery care. Mr Ayad Shafiq, Ophthalmologist Consultant and his team were extremely friendly and professional throughout the whole procedure which went perfectly. I cannot praise them enough. I’m due to have surgery on my R eye soon and I really hope I’m fortunate to have the same surgical team

I only waited longer than necessary for my appointment through my own choice. Everything being done on the day was good as I had a long journey to get there. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

I cannot fault the service I received for my cataract operation. I was kept informed at all stages from the initial review to the operation itself and the follow-up. Staff were friendly, efficient and well-informed. Great care was taken over hygiene (as might be expected!) I can wholeheartedly recommend Newmedica Newcastle to anyone seeking optical treatment.
