About Chris Matthews
Mr Chris Matthews is a Consultant Ophthalmologist and Oculoplastic Surgeon specialising in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of eyelid and tear duct conditions. He practises privately at Newmedica Newcastle Eye Health Clinic & Surgical Centre and also works as a Consultant Ophthalmologist at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust.
His clinical practice focuses on age-related eyelid and periocular conditions, including ptosis, dermatochalasis, entropion, ectropion, watery eyes, brow ptosis, eyelid lumps, cysts and skin growths. What a lovely man ! Highly recommend Chris and what an amazing job he’s done with my eye lid . From start to finish I was made to feel relaxed as I was really worried about what to expect on the day . I didn’t need to worry at all , the music helped the chatting and odd joke helped too , but most of all the result was amazing !! Hardly any a scaring to be seen the eye lid looks and feels amazing but most of all my eyes are symmetrical now and I don’t look odd especially when my photo was taken which looked awful. So thank you once again Chris and team amazing job done . Highly recommend .

Chris Matthews is without doubt the best Consultant surgeon I have ever been treated by. His very caring manner and expertise are second to none. Chris has performed surgery on my eyes twice and treated an eye problem for a few years with great success. I never worry when having treatment from Chris, he always makes me feel less nervous and relaxed for any treatment. He has the same approach to all of his patients and is certainly one if the best in his field.
