I am writing to share my experience with my MRI appointment last Friday. Unfortunately, it was not a smooth or positive experience. The day before my appointment, someone called to delay my scheduled time by 45 minutes. However, I was unwell and resting, so I missed the call. There was no text message or email notification, which meant I did not receive any confirmation of this change. On the day of the scan, I left home according to my original appointment time and was already on the train when I finally received a call informing me about the delay. To avoid wasting time, I arranged something else to do during that 45-minute gap. However, while I was in the middle of that task, I received another call saying that my original slot was now available and asking me to come immediately. This constant back-and-forth was very frustrating. I have my own schedule and time management, I cannot simply drop everything whenever the center calls. When I finally arrived at the center at the new delayed time, I found that the entrance was difficult to locate and once I reached reception, I still had to wait before being called in. During the scan itself, everything felt very rushed. The moment the scan ended, before I even had a chance to sit up, I was told to “hurry up” and leave because they were busy. This was especially difficult for me as I was having the MRI due to a concussion. After the scan, I felt dizzy and unsteady. Instead of being given a moment to recover, I felt pressured to move immediately. I had to retreat to the changing room to rest for a while before I could leave safely. Overall, the lack of clear communication, last-minute changes and rushed handling left me feeling very disappointed. I hope this feedback can help improve your scheduling system and patient care so others do not go through the same stressful experience.

I wanted to share some feedback on my recent appointment. I felt the consultant was quite dismissive and used language that may not have been appropriate — for example, when feeling the lump I was told immediately “this is not cancer.” While I have personal experience in this area and have been through it before, for someone new to this situation such a conclusion could feel very daunting and unsettling. The appointment also felt rushed, particularly after the ultrasound (as the mammogram machine was broken). I left feeling as though my questions were seen as unimportant, and that I was being hurried out because “nothing was wrong.” While I accept the results, I had hoped for a more considered discussion — especially as I’ve had similar lumps removed in the past and wanted to understand the difference this time. Instead, I was simply told to manage the pain, given a leaflet, and advised to take primrose oil. This did not feel like the most supportive approach. To then receive a letter a couple of hours later — before the mammogram had even taken place — dismissing me from the service, felt like a rushed and premature conclusion. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as the experience could be improved by allowing more time for questions, more sensitivity in communication, and reassurance for patients at what can be an anxious time.

I received the best service and patient care with Mr Hamouda and his team. I have had many surgeries and I can say that Mr Hamouda has been one of the best surgeons I have met on my journey. He was empathetic, thoughtful, considerate, calm, Informative and a person who genuinely cares for his patients. He is also very highly regarded and respected by the nurses and surgical teams that he works with - that spoke volumes to me. The Weymouth Street Hospital where I attended for my surgery is hands-down the best hospital I have ever been a patient in. It was clean and organised. The team at the hospital from admission, the chef, the anaesthetist, the surgical teams, the nurse on the ward were all absolutely brilliant. Their patient care was the best I have ever experienced , they were also very efficient - I felt like I was staying in a 5-star hotel!

I arrived at the appointed time, checked in with the receptionist given forms to complete which I completed & handed back to the receptionist, after waiting half an hour passed my appointment time I was still waiting to be seen, eventually my partner asked a male nurse if Mr Patel was running late, and we were told that we were the next to be seen, when we were invited in to see Mr Pater he was very apologetic for keeping us waiting saying that there had been an administrative error whereby he had been told that I hadn’t arrived for my appointment, Mr Patel commented that he thought that was strange as the paperwork I had compieted on my arrival was on his desk. So he realised that I was there but nobody had apparently bothered to check.

I chose to see Dr Jayaseelan having read her biography on the BUPA app. From the moment we met and Dr Dipa introduced herself, I felt completely relaxed and happy to be in her care. We discussed how the condition had developed, the requirements that I had in terms of her opinion as to my fitness to return to work and ongoing treatment and medication. Throughout the consultation, absolutely everything was explained clearly and in plain language. I really can’t tell you how professional the whole experience was and I left the hospital in no doubt whatsoever that I was in excellent hands. Finally, just over an hour later, I received a written report of the consultation plus a letter that I’d requested for employment purposes.

I saw Mr. Stone for a needle aponeurotomy (needle fasciotomy) to treat Dupuytren’s contracture in my little finger. From the first consultation, everything was explained clearly, and his excellent reputation gave me full confidence. The procedure itself was quick, professional, and far less stressful than I expected. I had it done at 4:30 p.m., was having a few drinks and dinner in the pub an hour later, and the next morning I was back at my desk as normal. The results were remarkable—my finger, which had been bent at 90°, was completely straight immediately after the procedure. For anyone dealing with Dupuytren’s, I can honestly say this felt nothing short of miraculous. Highly recommended.

An excellent experience from start to finish. I saw Mr Bond Smith in outpatients regarding the removal of my gall bladder. I could not have asked for a better surgeon. Everything was explained about the operation but mostly I felt I was being listened to regarding any questions I had. The communication throughout was excellent updating and informing at each step. The operation was performed by keyhole surgery one morning and I went home the next day with no pain only slight discomfort. Since the operation I have felt so much better and no issues. The hospital staff were both friendly and professional, creating a very comfortable environment. My room was clean and well-appointed, and everything was explained to me clearly throughout the process. I felt reassured by the thorough checks carried out before and after the surgery. The catering staff were also very helpful and attentive. The entire process was efficient, with regular visits from staff to check on my recovery. I also received a follow-up call from Mr. Sian the next day to check on my condition, which I greatly appreciated.

I found the checking in process to be rather disappointing as my registration form contained 3 errors, I.e. the wrong G.P. And surgery, The doctor and address were in Scotland, not Sandford, Dorset. The wrong date of birth, which blocked me from entering further emails and a mis-spelling of my husband’s title. The receptionist was rather curt pointing out that as I had signed the form I had approved one of the mistakes which I had not noticed. Otherwise the experience and on going attention from the staff has been Excellent.

Mr Sohail Ahmed

Mr Ahmed treated me for the removal of a basal cell carcinoma from my lower left eyelid which also affected the outer corner. This required the removal of a significant section of my eyelid and later reconstruction by Mr Ahmed. It was a conducted with great skill resulting in an outcome that I can only describe as superb. Family members were unanimous that the reconstruction was an unqualified success being almost invisible.
