I was referred to Newmedica Newcastle for eye cataract surgery by my optician. I had my first eye surgery done in September, and my second eye done in December. I received excellent service from all the Newmedica colleagues whenever I visited; for my pre-surgery consultation, the surgeries themselves, and the post-surgery visits. Those working on the reception were friendly and made me feel welcome. The waiting area was clean and tidy, with hot drinks available. The colleagues who did the testing, pre-surgery administration, and post-surgery follow up checks were all very knowledgeable. They took me through the surgery preparations, explaining the process as they went, putting me at ease and answering any questions. After surgery they made sure I was aware of what I needed to do over the following three weeks to ensure my eyes healed completely. The surgical team were very proficient, and I felt I was in safe hands. The procedure was explained at every step, putting me at ease. The consultant for my first procedure was Nicholas Wride. The procedure itself took just under 3 minutes, which I had not expected, as internet searches indicated it would take anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes. I was so impressed and, as I was told I could have the same consultant for the cataract removal procedure on my second eye, I didn’t hesitate to ask for Nicholas Wride again. My second procedure was equally as expertly performed, and this time took 3 minutes 20 seconds. There was no pain during the procedures and only very slight discomfort straight afterwards. Other than the pain relief eye drops that were put in for the surgical procedure, I didn’t need to take any painkillers at all. The hardest part for me was remembering to use the post-surgery eye drops the clinic provided, as my eyes felt that good. Three weeks after surgery, I attended the clinic for post-surgery follow up checks. I was signed off from the clinic after the follow up check on my second eye. My vision is now excellent, and I only need to use reading glasses for small print. Before the surgery I wore varifocal lens glasses at all times. I wasn’t expecting the improvements in my sight to be quite so good, so I’m pleased I took up the opportunity to have my cataracts removed and really pleased that it was Newmedica Newcastle who did the procedures and looked after me and my sight so well. This whole experience has been rubbish. One of the questions asked if I had ever had polyps, which I had but 15 years ago, and because I clicked yes, recommended me as not suitable for screening...a lot can happen in 15 years, and it didn't ask me how long ago it was. The form was clunky to use and complete. In the results letter it said if I still wanted screening despite my results, to go to my results page. However when I went to that page it gave no options to select screening. It showed a Submit button on the results page, but would not let me proceed as I had not selected a service, however there were no services to select. The results letter gave me a link asking for feedback, either a quick survey or a detailed survey. When I clicked the detailed one it came up with an Error404 message. When I clicked the quick survey, it asked me questions about recent visits, were the staff friendly, was the practice clean etc, instead of asking any questions about my experience with the recent cancer screening survey...they were completely irrelevant.

I have been seeing Adrian for six sessions for treatment of two frozen shoulders, and he has been absolutely excellent. He’s very thorough in his approach and always takes the time to explain things clearly, which has really helped me understand my recovery. He has great communication with his clients and pays close attention to how I react to different treatments, allowing him to tailor each session to what works best for me. This has helped ensure the treatment is as smooth as possible and that my recovery is progressing well. His availability is great, and I genuinely feel supported throughout the treatment process for both conditions. Adrian works incredibly hard during every session, from start to finish, so I always feel I’m getting great value for money. I will definitely continue seeing him and couldn’t recommend him highly enough. If you’re looking for an osteopath, I would strongly advise giving Adrian a go.

I had a really positive experience staying at Nuffield Hospital. From admission to discharge, the staff were friendly, welcoming and kind. Everyone I interacted with was attentive, reassuring and helpful, which made a big difference during surgery and early recovery. Even when things were not perfect, such as not having a post-surgery bra in my exact size and sending me home in one that was a bit too big in the cups, the care and effort from the team never wavered. They handled everything with warmth, professionalism and good humour! Overall, I felt well looked after, respected and supported and I am very grateful to the staff who made what could have been a stressful experience feel calm and manageable. 💗

From start to finish Daye is intuitive and easy to use. I’ve done many online health tests prior to this but nothing compares to the level of service Daye provides. For clarity I did the full screen and purchased the 30 min nurse call. The sample is beyond easy to take and post. The results came back fast and were clear to understand, on top I was sent a beautiful kind email and was also offered a free call to over my HPV results. I didn’t use this but my 30 min call with the nurse was invaluable. I would have been happy to pay triple the price for the service I received. I will be 100% using Daye again and have already recommended to friends.

After a week of intensifying, debilitating sciatica pain, I realised expert help was required and booked an appointment with Claudiu at this practice. I’m so glad I did. The initial assessment was professional, very reassuring, and the diagnosis was accurate. I was happy to book the extremely effective follow-up sessions, and I’m now completely pain-free. The rehabilitation exercise programme was tailored to my needs, and I found the phone app provided to guide me through those exercises at home very helpful. I have no hesitation in recommending this practice.

I had my left knee replaced following the right knee replacement in June. There was barely any pain and I am as mystified as my carers! I have needed very little pain relief and apart from some slight heat and swelling on day 2 that responded perfectly to ice packs this has been a dream. Mr Shergill is clearly not only a brilliant surgeon but now I suspect he is a bit of a wizard as well. I spent one night in hospital and he visited me twice to monitor my progress. I can honestly say that I enjoyed my visit to New Hall Hospital and am thrilled with my new knee.

the appointment for my adhd assessment was online so I can’t comment on the cleaness of the office. The difficult part of this process was trying to keep track of the forms and how many questions you had to answer on a form without being able to save as you go along or being able to print them off and take your time to remember the examples. It would be great to have a checklist on screen that showed which forms you had completed and which ones were still left to do. The assessor put me at ease, she explained everything clearly.
