About Dr Ramandeep Chalokia

Dr Ramandeep Chalokia is a highly experienced Consultant Urological Surgeon with over 18 years of practice as a fully qualified specialist. He manages a broad spectrum of urological conditions, with particular expertise in male lower urinary tract symptoms related to Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH). He offers both medical and surgical treatments for BPH, including Transurethral Resection of the Prostate (TURP), Transurethral Incision of the Prostate (TUIP), Bladder Neck Incision (BNI), and minimally invasive UroLift procedures, which he performs under local anaesthetic.

Dr Chalokia has a strong interest in urological cancer diagnostics and management. He provides comprehensive assessment for suspected prostate, bladder, kidney, testicular, and penile cancers, and has extensive experience performing transperineal prostate biopsies under local anaesthetic. He also treats bladder cancer, including transurethral resection of bladder tumours and ongoing management in line with national and international guidelines.

His clinical expertise extends to female urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, urinary tract infections (including recurrent UTIs), erectile dysfunction, male infertility, and sexual dysfunction. He also manages common inguinoscrotal and penile conditions such as phimosis, hydrocele, epididymal cysts, and varicocele.

Dr Chalokia has a special interest in urinary tract stone disease, including both treatment and prevention strategies. Following a specialist Stone Fellowship at Guy’s Hospital in London, he developed advanced skills in the endoscopic and minimally invasive management of renal tract stones.

He is a full-time substantive Consultant Urological Surgeon at Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where he has served as Governance Lead for Urology and currently holds the role of Clinical Director for Surgical Specialties. He played a key role in establishing the UroLift service at the Trust and continues to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care in accordance with best practice guidelines.

Alongside his clinical responsibilities, Dr Chalokia is committed to medical education and leadership. He is an Educational Supervisor for Foundation Year doctors, an appraiser for senior medical staff, and holds a postgraduate certificate in medical education. He maintains an active interest in research and has contributed book chapters and peer-reviewed publications to the field of urology.
