About Mr Nico Jonas
Mr Nico Jonas is a Consultant Otolaryngologist (Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon), specialising in Paediatric Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) surgery and General Adult ENT Surgery. He completed his specialist ENT training at Groote Schuur Hospital, Cape Town South Africa in 2007. He then undertook additional sub-specialty training in Ireland, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
His sub-specialty training included working as a Senior Registrar at Beaumont Hospital, Dublin, Ireland, and two internationally renowned Paediatric ENT Fellowships at Starship Children's Hospital, Auckland, New Zealand and Great Ormond Street Hospital, London.
Following on from his sub-specialty training he worked as a Consultant at Great Ormond Street Hospital and at Guys and St Thomas' Hospital prior to starting at Addenbrookes's Hospital, Cambridge.
His comprehensive training enables him to provide high quality care in all aspects of ENT disease in adults and children. At Addenbrooke's Hospital, a large part of his work involves performing complex Paediatric ENT Surgery, including airway surgery and reconstruction.
Mr Jonas' interests include Paediatric ENT, Adeno-tonsillar disease, ear problems, nosebleeds, nasal allergies, neck lumps, snoring, hearing problems, sleep apnoea and airway disease.
He has a keen interest in research and have published over twenty peer reviewed research articles and ten academic book chapters.

I highly recommend Dr. Jonas following my 3-year-old daughter’s recent adenotonsillectomy. From the initial consultation, he was incredibly thorough, providing us with all the information needed to make an informed decision about the surgery. He took the time to answer all our questions and made sure we felt comfortable with the process. Dr. Jonas’ approach is very personable, and he effortlessly put my daughter at ease. The surgery itself went smoothly with no complications, and her recovery was surprisingly quick with minimal discomfort. We were also impressed with the follow-up care, which was prompt and reassuring four weeks later. Overall, we are extremely pleased with the entire experience, from start to finish, and we are confident that the results will be life-changing for our daughter.
Mr Jonas was brilliant with my daughter making her feel reassured and happy to proceed to fix her fractured nose.
Dr Nico, was welcoming and friendly. He listened to our concerns regarding Thomas’ enlarged tonsils and agreed a plan was necessary. He engaged with our three year old and made us all feel at ease.
We had a great consultation with Mr Jonas, a pal was put in place and everything was explained to us and our son in detail.
I saw Mr Jonas following a prolonged period of sinusitis. I was able to book an appointment promptly and saw him just over a week later. Mr Jonas was very thorough during my 30 minute consultation and was able to undertake 2 separate procedures in his clinic on the day and arrange for further scan investigations should my condition not improve . He was kind, professional, had the right amount of levity to help me relax and he clearly understood my symptoms as described and my concerns.
I would highly recommend Nico. Very professional with a gentle manner.
