Approximately one year ago I experienced a sudden increase/spike in my heart rate when exercising on the rowing machine. My usual heart rate for a steady state training session was between 130 and 145 BPM. This time it suddenly spiked up to about 180 to 190+ bpm, and it would not come down quickly enough. I am quite fit for my age and never had such issues before. As this had never happened before, I did get in touch with my GP and eventually I had a 24hr Holter monitor fitted. The results did not reveal anything that was out of ordinary. But, a month later, I was at an indoor rowing competition, when my heart rate suddenly jumped to 226 bpm and I also experienced headaches. I then decided to use my wife's BUPA family health insurance and I had my 1st appointment with Dr Qasim in July 2025, at Cromwell Hospital. What struck me was his friendly and professional manner. He asked numerous questions about my lifestyle, my past or existing health issues, if any, and the sport I am involved in, rowing. He listened very carefully, patiently and sympathetically to all my concerns I had regarding my symptoms. He was also very reassuring, and I left the appointment feeling a lot more optimistic. Dr Qasim booked several thorough tests and, following the test results, I am now on medication that controls the atrial fibrillation symptoms. I have regained confidence in training harder, and I am now able to race without worrying. I also have regained the confidence that I am not going to have a sudden heart attack or a stroke! As it happens, very soon, I have an appointment with Dr Qasim, to review the last few months since I last saw him and the efficiency of the medication prescribed and obtain a final diagnosis. I am confident that I will able able to control the Afib symptoms and any possible complications, with Dr Qasim’s help and expertise.

I underwent a unicompartmental knee replacement (UKR) in November 2025 performed by Mr Mahmud, and I am extremely pleased with both the surgical outcome and the overall care I received. From the initial consultation, Mr Mahmud was clear, measured, and reassuring. He explained why a UKR was appropriate in my case, whilst also providing me with alternative options. He set realistic expectations about recovery, which have proven to be very accurate. I felt well informed and confident proceeding with surgery. My recovery has progressed exactly as advised and whilst there has been some stiffness and swelling I have felt improvements day by day. One of the most noticeable improvements for me was how smooth the knee felt when bending — the grinding and grating sensation I experienced pre-operatively has now gone completely. I have received an additional benefit in significantly reduced hip pain due to the realigned knee joint, this was noticable from early in my post op recovery period and has maintained throughout. I have now been discharged from physiotherapy with no restrictions, clear guidance to self-manage progression, and confidence in the strength and stability of the implant. That reassurance has been invaluable as I’ve returned to exercise and everyday activity. Overall, the care was professional, calm, and expertly delivered. The outcome has exceeded my expectations and I could not be happier with my knee at 10 weeks post op. I would not hesitate to recommend Mr Mahmud to anyone considering a partial knee replacement.

She has a great bedside manner, there is no judgement and she is, very knowledgable and understanding. I also see her for weight loss and again, for anyone contemplating medical assisted weight loss, I would always recommend going through someone like Dr Cowie. Very professional, well informed, open and friendly. I had a vasectomy 16 years before and wanted a reversal. Mr Bromage was open about the chances of it working after such a length of time but seemed confident. He also did a sperm retrieval procedure at the same time which was put in storage in case the reversal wasn't successful then we could try IVF. On the day of surgery Mr Bromage kept me well informed and made sure my wife was kept up to date regularly. The whole process from admission to discharge went as smoothly as could be. Exactly a year after my reversal procedure my wife gave birth to our healthy baby boy. I would highly recommend Mr Bromage to anyone looking for a vasectomy reversal.

The care was absolutely 1st class. Not only was everyone extremely diligent and professional, they were all personable, friendly and charming. I first met Simon at the Canary Wharf clinic in 2018, and he has since become my go-to physio. Not only does he provide effective pain relief, he also helps me understand the root causes so I can manage the pain myself. I highly recommend him to anyone who works long hours and also trains hard at the gym. Went to see him first week of Jan 2026 becasue my wrist was a bit flared up last month, and he's as good as usual!

This was my first major operation. I was very nervous and quite anxious before going to the hospital. After booking in, I was taken to my room where the staff carried out all their pre ops checks. Whilst doing this my nerves began to calm as the staff were so warming and kind in their approach. My operation was early in the morning and I was back in my room in time for lunch. My post operative care was also of a high standard, the staff were excellent. The operation went very well and I would highly recommend the operation and also Yorkshire Clinic.

The group therapy sessions and the structure of the day was very helpful in helping my recovery. When I first came I was a bit confused about a lot of things and maybe communication in terms of meals and rules etc could be better explained in a more compassionate manner. Thyroid blood test. Never been before. Autistic so some challeges : a sign on door to push would have helped, it was intimidating, couldn’t get in straight away. An area with reduced lighting to wait would have reduced my overwhelm, was very close to waiting outside. Became very overwhelmed trying to explain which test I had booked, knew there was a fault on the website. Although the situation was rectified satisfactorily, it was still an overwhelming, triggering experience.
