I have been very happy with my overall experience at Vision Scotland Edinburgh. The staff were both friendly and professional. I was well informed regarding my choices and the procedure. I have been thrilled with the result of the cataract surgery. I was given an appointment very soon after the referral. I would however like to let you know how I felt the experience on the day of the operation could have been improved. Firstly I was not sent the Post Op information which would have been most helpful to read before the procedure. Secondly I got very cold in theatre and was given a blanket but it did take me ages to warm up. It would have been better to have been given a blanket before the procedure started. There is a lot of cold water being used which does add to the chill. Thirdly I was not told to bring sunglasses for the journey home or to bring analogies both of which I would very much appreciated as I lived over a hour away. On the journey home I became extremely uncomfortable. Finally the roof of my mouth and tongue got a little burnt I think by the coffee as they must have been a little bit anaesthetised still when I had the coffee. The coffee however i have to say was absolutely welcome and the best thing along with the toasted teacake. I found it very reassuring to have a telephone number to call which I did use. I also very much appreciate the phone call from the nurse a couple of days post op. I hope you find the above comments of use. I do not wish to criticise as overall it was an extremely good experience and I would and have already recommended Vision Scotland. ( I did tell my neighbour to ask for a blanket!)

I had ALT phallo with Mr Nim Christopher and was admitted for 5 days post-op, and I cannot thank the nursing staff enough for the care I received. Every nurse I encountered was professional, compassionate, and genuinely attentive. They consistently checked on me, explained things clearly, responded quickly whenever I needed help, and treated me with kindness and respect at all times. Their reassurance and calm presence made a difficult hospital stay much more comfortable and less stressful. It’s clear they take great pride in their work and truly care about their patients. The morning Nurses Kate and Erisa were extremely wonderful even though at one point there were so many patients and only 2 of them to take care of all of us, they were encouraging and they set a positive tone for each day. The night shift nurses Mo and Aliesha were reassuring and kind and always present when things felt hardest. Of course ai cannot leave out Alina who was always caring and compassionate throughout my stay. Last but certainly not least I would like the thank Mr Nim for his excellent care and support and Dr Patil for the amazing anesthesia he delivered. They were all like family to me. I’m deeply grateful for everything they did for me. Your professionalism, kindness and dedication did not go unnoticed.

RTN Mental Health - Right To Choose

I've had a really good experience of RTN. I was referred from my GP on 31/07/25 Got message to complete questionnaires within 24 hours of them recieving referral. Got my assessment booked and completed 13/11/2025 (date I picked) Had the second stage on 29/01/2026 to discuss diagnostic outcome and to discuss next steps. Really helpful, obviously could go down the medication path but was given some really helpful advice on support groups and what GPs can offer in addition or standalone. Really helped discuss and give me an understanding and made me feel valid, great rapport with both video meetings, made me feel comfortable and at ease. Please note that there was just over 8 weeks between first and second appointment (xmas period too) There is approx 8 weeks wait for diagnostic report and 12 weeks wait for medication appointment. But they inform you of this and I've had a really good experience with them.

1. We were wrong footed by the entrance barrier, but luckily another patient was close to the entrance button. 2. Parking was tight - we had to park in the radiology section, but hoped that would be ok. 3. The surgery was wonderfully light and airy and spatially arranged in such a way that each patient could have space and privacy. 4. The staff i have spoken to on the phone were immensely welcoming and efficient, as were the ladies on the desk on arrival 5. The loos were wonderfully clean and airy. 6. Dr. Johnstone was most welcoming and sympathetic. I can't make the next step work, which is to review Dr. J. On only one visit, my experience was very positive. She was clearly listening to what i was saying, and made a very quick referral, for which I am very grateful.

I visited for an US abdominal and internal after NHS scan could not find my ovaries due and I was very anxious to find out if theses were causing my pain. I was fortunately referred by my GP quickly and seen the following day. The experience was totally different to the NHS one. My questions were answered rather than the NHS “you will need to speak with your doctor “ response to every question. The consultant Christina spent time to get the necessary images and did advise further scans to eliminate any issues with bowel/colon. The whole experience was very comfortable and I did not feel like I was being a nuisance by asking questions about my body!! Thank you so much. It was ++ reassuring and did also identify a condition which I may have causing the pain.

Dr Hoey saw our son for his ongoing eczema and was excellent throughout the appointment. She was very knowledgeable and took the time to clearly explain the different creams and ointments available, along with clear instructions on how and when to apply them. She also gave us helpful advice for our son’s nursery on how they can support his skin care. Dr Hoey was friendly and engaging with our young son, which helped her quickly build rapport and assess him with ease. We left the appointment feeling reassured and with a clear treatment plan. Mr Nawar is a fantastic consultant and surgeon. He listened to my concerns and issues, provided a clear explanation of the options available to me without being overly technical and was very supportive of my decision. Not quite knowing what to expect, the surgery itself (total abdominal hysterectomy) and recovery have been a revelation and this is down to Mr Nawar's expertise and calm and caring approach. He showed great care before, during and after my surgery and I would 100% recommend Mr Nawar. Thank you!

Staff at both the receptions were welcoming , No waiting time . Saw the specialist regarding ongoing issues with my knees and toes, and the he was extremely helpful and informative. He took the time to clearly explain what was happening, walking me through the MRI images in a way that was easy to understand. All available options were discussed thoroughly, including injections and physiotherapy, and I felt fully informed throughout the appointment. . Overall, a very positive and supportive experience.

When I first met David, I was immediately reassured that he was someone I could easily discuss my concerns and future treatment plans. My ten year relationship with him has allowed consistency, empowering me as a patient to make decisions for my treatment and be guided by his expertise in the field of Osteoporosis. He took time to listen to my concerns about a medication's side effects and discuss the available best options for me.

Parking at the hospital or nearby if the limited onsite space is already full , is a just a matter of luck. The coffee machine in the private lounge was out of order. Dr Phillips was on time, personable, open and explained the various investigation options at the initial consultation. All my questions were thoughtfully answered in clear concise terms. There is probably going to be a 3 week wait between the initial consultation and the recommended investigation action

The Doctor spent time listening and acknowledged the struggles my son is experiencing! He was sympathetic and helped him enormously. Medication was discussed and explained fully. We left with a feeling of relief that we now had a plan moving forward. He will review my son in a few weeks and adjust medication as required.
