Mr Basu is an excellent surgeon and a really wonderful man. He has carried out two recent surgical procedures on both my wife and I. My wife was for the removal of her gall bladder and mine was for a complicated inguinal hernia. We are both in our mid 70's On both occasions Mr Basu was wonderful, on our first meeting he explained the procedure to us in plain language that we could understand, he put us at ease and gave us total confidence in the procedure that he would carry out. On the day of the procedure he came and met us in the private room and he again discussed what he was going to do and why. He allayed all our fears and was so friendly and empathetic and put us totally at ease. Both procedures went perfectly with excellent results and when we met him for our follow up appointments he was so caring and friendly. Mr Basu is wonderful and a wonderful and caring man. The set-up was scruffy/down at heel. The reception staff appeared weary, little interaction and certainly no putting anyone at ease. The approach to the outside of the building is unwelcoming and unclear. Far too many stairs with no assistance offered or given. No courteous instructions, no graciousness. The waiting room was full of materials to be used in decorating/ construction …. Maybe they thought the over large, badly adhered to the wall TV playing the same continuous “Winter” loop made up for feeling very much an inconvenience. One of the most annoying things is when you explain you’re deaf they say and they did “Oh we’ll speak loudly.” Empathy dictates clarity and pace NOT volume ( training needed in several areas ) seats in waiting area uncomfortable - nowhere to place/rest anything.

I cannot say thank you enough to Mr Malek He made me feel so at ease with everything and gave clear explanations of what to expect The whole process from start to finish was very well organised, with plenty of notice for appointments I was treated by every staff member with kindness and dignity with nothing being too much trouble I was greeted on operation day and taken to my room then looked after until time for my op Afterwards the nurse arranged for food and a cup of tea I stayed overnight and was assisted on multiple occasions to use the lavatory The following day I was shown how to handle stairs before being allowed home I am sure this has helped towards my speedy recovery

It is now several weeks since Mr Wearne fitted me with Galaxy lens implants in both eyes and it has exceeded my expectations. Before I had been using disposable contact lenses for about 25 years with all the inconvenience involved. I was hoping that the replacement lenses would remove the to need for any sight aids at all and to leave me with acceptable night vision. Now I have better vision at all distances and in all lights, far better than I was expecting. Dr Tang was simply wonderful. He was very kind, gentle and understanding of my worries and health problem. He explained the procedures well and reassured me. After the endoscopies he reported back and explained clearly what he had found. All the staff at Hadley Wood were also extremely friendly, competent and reassuring, particularly Nurse Grace. Dr Tangs secretary was extremely efficient and friendly. She was quick to respond to my messages and ensured my consultations and treatment happened smoothly and speedily.

Hugest thanks to Dr Onur Gilleard for removing the cyst like lump on my face - he is an incredible highly skilled Plastic surgeon - the procedure was pain free, very quick and I couldn't believe how neat and small the incision and stitches were which are healing beautifully. It was only a week ago however I have absolutely no doubt that there will be minimal scarring due to his expertise. Dr Gilleard and the nurse were incredibly kind and caring and totally put me at ease. Would totally recommend to anyone.

He also clearly explained what was going on with my ankle and how it can get better, having done a number of tests to pinpoint the issue.
