I actually did not get to use the facilities in the private wing of Charing Cross Hospital, as I was seen in neurophysiology on level three of the NHS departments. The only time I had to go up to the 15th floor was to get two forms, stamped and provide my pre-authorisation number that meant getting in a crowded lift and riding up to the 15th floor, which took a very long time as the lift stopped on nearly every floor. Then I had to go back down to level three for tests. It was actually quite stressful for someone with my health conditions to do this, and to be expected to do this administration as the patient!. The waiting area in the NHS department was not relaxing, it was very hot, no natural light was had limited/poor ventilation and the receptionist was quite rude. The medical staff were more polite. When I pay for private healthcare, I prefer to stay in the private department than in the crowded NHS areas. I gather on this occasion the tests were not available in the private wing, but perhaps another hospital where the consultant worked would’ve been able to accommodate. I was not informed that the tests would be in the NHS department.

My experience throughout foe both eyes and post care has been excellent. Dr Allam was excellent, very professional, knowledgeable about cataracts . My initial surgery was deferred from 2nd Dec until 16th December 2025. This was due to my right being unfected. Dr Allam reassured me that my surgery would happen before christmas. The surgery did happen on 16th December. From preparation to surgery Dr Allam and team excelkent in communicating to me the process Typea of Lenses and cost. Lynne (nurse) was excellent exolaining post-Surgery and demonstrating how to apply the anti-biotic eye drops .Excellwnt support was privided in terms of eye protectors,tape and drops. Follow up by Dr Allam was excellent abd made me feel valued as a person, not just as a customer. The surgery was a major success. On 6th January 2026 I had a last follow up post surgery assessment. Resukting in Dr Allam confirming through eyes assessments, tge surgery was a success. I want to say thank to DR Allam and team for an excellent support abd for the first time since I was 7 years old I can see amazingly well !

Made typos on my medical documents several times regardless of me flagging they require updates Can’t schedule simple appointment times and check with people if they are available instead sending random meeting times which clash with my work On 3 occasions now I have tried to join a meeting to have no one there Even if I am having problems connecting and 2 mins late someone should be in the allocated slot waiting especially given the people you are meeting with are disabled All this titration has done is add extra stress to my life instead of helping anything I am now going through medication withdrawals because I have been unable to meet in my titration meetings regales of me flagging several times that these timings do not work with my work commitments and now I have extra stress and pressure on my life at an extremely stressful time Would not recommend this to anyone it’s taken me a whole year since my diagnosis to even get to this point and I am still being messed around

My experience with Quen was exemplary - at the time of first meeting him, my humerus had been fractured for 2-weeks & I was in pain, so he very speedily made himself available for a call to discuss the procedure, and once this had been done, booked me in for surgery the following week. On the morning of the procedure, he once again came to see me to discuss the procedure and let me ask any questions I had, which really reassured me. He then came to see me the morning post the op too, to discuss next steps. Ever since the operation, my arm has steadily been on the mend and this is no doubt down to the great care that Quen & the team have showed throughout. I've also seen Quen for two follow-up X-Rays where he has discussed the progress with me, and with this, I've been able to become more competent & confident in carrying out my day-to-day. I couldn't recommend Quen enough - not only has he been brilliant throughout but he's also a thoroughly lovely man.

I had an initial consultation for varicose vein treatment (following a flyer in the post) and following further investigations/diagnosis I went ahead and had an operation. The whole experience from beginning to end was first class. Everything was fully explained to me and all my questions were answered before deciding on the most appropriate treatment. The operation (under local anaesthetic) went well with a nurse talking to me all the time and explaining everything which was happening as as well as distracting me! My recovery went as planned - and as explained - and a follow up visit to see the consultant was very reassuring. All in all I was very pleased with everything and would not hesitate in recommending Shepton Mallet Hospital.

Steve is excellent. Personable and very professional and clearly knows his stuff. He operated on our son following a shoulder dislocation playing rugby. Throughout the process, Steve was clear with the surgical options and very thorough in his explanations, particularly understanding with the emotions of a teenager and his desperation to be back on the pitch again. He has a friendly manner and was always quick to answer extra questions we had between consultations. He did an excellent surgical job on our son and we’d have no hesitation in recommending him. After not getting an appointment with our GP I decided to book an appointment late on in the afternoon when I became concerned with my child. I was able to book online with ease and had the appointment for 35 minutes later. The staff were welcoming and it wasn’t long in the waiting room before we were seen. Fiona made my child and myself feel at ease and did a thorough check. She even offered a follow up MOT check the next day which left me very reassured. This is the third time I’ve used the clinic and would recommend to anyone needing piece of mind when they can’t access their own GP unfortunately..

My surgery took place there and had to stay overnight due to vertigo and dizziness. The hospital was friendly, new and pristine. The nursing staff outstanding as well as of course the medical team. I had dinner and breakfast and it was also healthy and delicious. Yesterday I returned to have the dressing removed and it was equally good. If any criticism would be to the pharmacy with a 30minute wait to get my prescription and also despite being a Bupa hospital not having the availity to charge Bupa for medication- I am under Bupa Global and in other Bupa hospitals this is the case.

I had a fall damaging my left knee, after a day or so my knee became swollen and extremely painful. I went online to find Mr Morgan who had replaced my right knee a few years ago and to my delight he was still at Princess Margaret. I booked an appointment for the next day where Mr Morgan examined my situation, drained the fluid, arranged a CT and explained the prognosis. I’m delighted to say I am back to almost normal, even had a round of golf!
