The appointment with the specialist gastroenterologist and blood test, reception, bookings etc was fine, no wait, quick, efficient and friendly. All very good. The MRI was another story. I have shared my feedback with the experience team. See below. How are your staff performing procedures on patients trained? The team I was handed over looked more like students under training with no supervision, it was scary to be left alone with them for an MRI. Are you cutting costs so that no doctors are available on the day of my procedure? I have been better taken care of by the NHS ! I have just had the worst experience for what should have been a simple MRI procedure. The team I was handed to were unable to find a suitable vein to perform the dye injection. They tried several times, I asked to call someone else to try, the man who arrived didn't manage either and it was even more painful, they ended up harming both my arms. There were no doctors available. I insisted to see one. They said we could maybe do the MRI without the dye solution injected in my arms. They asked me what I wanted to do?! I replied I was not a doctor and the decision was not with me as I have no idea what it involves. Finally after waiting for over 20mins in a freezing room, with just a light layer to cover me, a doctor arrived. He said we shouldn't do an MRI without injecting the dye solution. Eventually he managed to do the needle procedure very well and easily and it was not painful at all. He left straight after. The MRI happened but no explanation was given to me by the team, who looked more like "in learning students with no supervision", I just prayed they actually knew what they were doing but I was very doubtful... no feedback on how it went, how long left during the MRI, when the results would be coming etc. I had MRIs with HCA in the past, a totally different experience. Doctors seem to be good at Cleveland but the staff I met yesterday was undertrained and there is obviously a management / administration problem. NHS does better on some instances. We pay a fortune for these types of clinics, this is shocking. I will never trust this place for any further procedures handling my health and body.

I booked a consultation for my daughter, Olivia P,with Mr Robert Sutcliffe on Monday 24th November 2025 at 2.00pm. With Olivia’s full consent, I handled all communication on her behalf due to her work commitments. Before the appointment, Mr Sutcliffe’s secretary contacted me to ask whether the consultation could be moved to the following week. I explained that we were due to travel abroad for three weeks to celebrate my husband’s milestone birthday. She advised she would discuss this with Mr Sutcliffe. She later called back to confirm that, in light of our circumstances, Mr Sutcliffe was happy to keep the original appointment — which he honoured. I accompanied Olivia to her consultation. Mr Sutcliffe was exceptionally thorough. He examined her carefully, explained his diagnosis with clarity and compassion, and put both of us completely at ease as he outlined the next steps. He requested a further liver function blood test, which Olivia had done at Nuffield Health Wolverhampton. I asked Nuffield Health to send the results to both Mr Sutcliffe and Olivia’s GP, which was done. Mr Sutcliffe’s secretary informed me as soon as the results were received and assured me they would be reviewed promptly. True to her word, Mr Sutcliffe reviewed the results quickly. His secretary then advised that he had no concerns and that our planned follow-up in the New Year could go ahead as arranged. I would also like to note that, as we were leaving Harborne Hospital, we happened to see Mr Sutcliffe leaving at the same time. It was clear he had come in specifically to see Olivia that day, knowing we were travelling abroad — something he was under no obligation to do. As a family, we found this gesture incredibly thoughtful and deeply appreciated it. Throughout the entire process, Mr Sutcliffe could not have been more helpful, supportive or empathetic. I am truly grateful that we can now go away on our family celebration holiday with complete peace of mind, knowing my daughter is under the care of such a capable, caring and dedicated professional. The most stressful and frustrating part of using RTN services is the lack of communication and poor response times. I have used RTN both via the right to choose path and for a private assessment. You would expect the private service to be quicker and have better communication but this has not been my experience. It is impossible to get hold of anybody. I have sent multiple emails and left voicemail but there is no sense of urgency in responding and waiting times are long. You don't even receive an acknowledgement or holding email to manage expectations. Some very basic and easy changes could be made to make the customer experience so much better.

We recently visited Nuffield Vale of Glamorgan for my son’s squint surgery under the care of Dr Jewsbury. The whole experience was excellent from start to finish. Communication was clear, reassuring, and consistent, and every member of the team went out of their way to make sure my son felt safe and supported. Dr Jewsbury’s care, both on the day and in the weeks that followed, was exceptional. The results have surpassed our expectations and have been genuinely life-changing for my son. We are so grateful for the professionalism, kindness, and attention we received throughout. Highly recommended.

am African and originally from Africa. Today, the young lady who took my blood was extremely kind and very professional. As we were talking, she was friendly, respectful, and welcoming. I was truly impressed by her attitude and the way she treated me. When she inserted the needle to draw my blood, I barely felt anything — she clearly knew exactly where the vein was and performed the procedure with great skill. If people in this world were all like her, the world would be filled with endless happiness.

The empathy and diagnosis to me regarding the excision of my wright wrist ganglion were second to none. And the surgery performed by Mr Iain McLaughlin-Symon went without any problems or after effects, and I couldn’t praise his medical skills highly enough. There are the no remnants of my wrist ganglion whatsoever , and the slight scar after the surgery is barely visible now and will probably have disappeared entirely within about 6 months.
