    Dr Scott Gall

    Cardiologist

I contacted Dr Gall following a diagnosis of atrial fibrillation and possible atrial flutter, on a personal recommendation. Although I had been referred within the NHS, this had not been tagged as urgent, and the wait time even for an initial consultation was likely to be a year. Between booking my initial consultation with Dr Gall and seeing him in person, I had a TIA (fortunately short-lasting with no after-effects) which certainly focused my mind on achieving a more speedy resolution. Dr Gall explained what was going wrong inside my heart, and what the possible options were to mitigate and/or resolve these. I found him to be very approachable and reassuring while we proceeded through some tests to establish an absence of sleep apnoea and that I would be suitable for ablation surgery, which was clearly the optimal treatment. I was booked for surgery within a few weeks of the test results coming back and a second consultation with Dr Gall. This took place at the Spire Hospital in South Manchester. I was there just over 24 hours in total, and was in theatre and recovery for somewhere around 4 hours. Dr Gall came to see me before the operation, had a brief chat in the theatre as I walked in, and then dropped into my room again after I had come round. Again, he was very reassuring at all times, and took time to explain why the operation had taken a little longer than necessary but that he was completely happy with how it had turned out. He paid me a final visit on his way home in the evening, again just to check that I was well and what to expect afterwards. I had excellent treatment from all the staff in Dr Gall's team at the hospital, and should say that several of them told me how much they appreciated working with him, saying that he always explained things clearly to them, encouraged them to ask questions if they were unsure, and made them feel everyone was part of a team. Post-surgery, I have seen Dr Gall on two further occasions to review further heart monitor results, and have now been signed off. He has always continued to reassure me that these results are everything he would hope for after a successful operation, and that all being well, we won't have to meet again. Following my experience, I can't recommend Dr Gall highly enough, and wish him well in the future as he continues to change patients lives for the better.

The security and reception staff were absolutely wonderful - welcoming, professional, and efficient. When I went up to the 3rd-floor neurology department, there weren’t very clear directions on where to check in, but I eventually found the desk (ironically, not the easiest task for someone visiting a neurologist!). After checking in, I was seen quite promptly. The neurologist herself came out to collect me - something I didn’t realise until we were already in her office, as she hadn’t introduced herself. I think my presence uneased her and I even commented that I thought she was the porter, as that’s what I had seen with other patients being escorted in. Unfortunately, the appointment itself was disappointing. The neurologist came across as very judgmental and accusatory, suggesting that my symptoms were exaggerated or imagined, despite my clear explanations and the observations of my colleagues, doctors, specialists, and family who have witnessed my neurological decline. When she asked about my profession, she seemed skeptical that I could perform my job without issues, which was uncomfortable and disheartening. I have a follow-up appointment with a neuropsychiatrist, but honestly, I’m not looking forward to it. I can only hope they’ll be more open-minded and empathetic.

We’ve been seeing Dr. Amar at Happy Kids Dental in Hammersmith with both of our children, and he has been absolutely amazing every single time. He’s kind, professional, patient, and always knows how to make kids feel relaxed and safe — even when they were a bit scared at first! Unfortunately, both of our kids had a few cavities, but thanks to Dr. Amar’s gentle and caring approach, they got through all the treatments without fear or stress — and now they actually look forward to seeing the dentist! 🦷💛 A huge thank you to Dr. Amar for his incredible care and kindness. Also a big shout-out to the reception team and nurses — they’re always so lovely, welcoming, and patient. My kids adore them! Honestly, the whole team at Happy Kids Dental is just amazing. Highly, highly recommended! 🌟 Mum of Patrik and Lilien👋🏻

I had the most wonderful experience with Dr Sotiris who looked after me for my c-section. From the moment we met him, I felt fully reassured that I am in the best hands. He has the most calming and gentle approach and I felt that he cared deeply about my wellbeing during and after the procedure. He explained in details what to expect prior, during and after the surgery which provided me with lots of reassurance. I also really appreciated that he came and visited me the next day to check on me and make sure that I am recovering okay. Next to his outstanding medical skills, he is also an excellent photo/videographer :) who captured long lasting memories for us during the birth of our baby. We are forever grateful for his kindness and care and we could have never wished for a better anaesthetist. Asmaa & Robin

The doctor took the time to explain my condition and treatment options clearly, which helped me feel confident in the care I received. This is my second hip replacement with Professor Field. My right hip was replaced two years ago and I had the left hip done this time. Professor Field is an excellent surgeon. I am amazed at my mobility, minimal swelling and minimal pain following surgery. The incision is small and very neatly sutured together. Professor Field carries out anterior hip replacements which means that muscles do not need to be cut and recovery is much quicker. Whereas other surgeons who do this procedure may have done hundreds, Professor Field has done thousands. He explains things well and every part of the treatment and recovery is science led. He pays a lot of attention to outcomes and his practice is based on this.

I had a very good experience. I was seen very promptly. The only possible change I can think of is that I might have been reminded to arrive with a full bladder for the flow test, although there was no problem as I arrived early and there was plenty of water and coffee available to achieve the necessary full bladder. Nurse and reception staff were pleasant and helpful. I was given a blood test very soon after the consultation and sent a copy of the result the next day - which very much impressed me. I come from a medical background and was impressed by Mr Ellis "bedside manner" and delivery of information. He also seemed genuinely pleased at the good results of my progress.

My visit for my hip operation was very calming, no stress involved as it was an operation. The nursing staff (Liam) was very helpful with information about my procedure timetable. After my operation I was looked after by 2 further nurses (Jan & Yvonne). They looked after my pain medication during the.night as well as the rest of my needs. Couldn’t have asked for better support, many thanks to them. The physio was round the next morning with crutches so I could walk and instructions on what I could and couldn’t do. Again very supportive which put me at ease.

Richard is, without question, the kindest and most effective therapist I’ve ever worked with. His confidence, evidently based on deep knowledge, is paired with his good humour and informal approach to create an extremely comfortable and supportive therapeutic environment. He has, and continues to support me with both the practical, day-to-day steps in my recovery from anorexia, as well as the deep and meaningful work needed to make that recovery robust. For anyone struggling with an eating disorder, I can not recommend and endorse Richard highly enough.

I visited Dr Awwad for the first time a month ago. After a very professional and thorough check-up, he gave me his contact details so I could keep him updated, something I greatly appreciated. He was always quick to respond and even scheduled calls whenever issues arose. We met several times afterwards for routine check-ups and a minor surgical procedure, and he consistently showed kindness and care. He also provided me with materials and gauze free of charge, which was very generous on his part.

On arrival everything was explained, my operation was carried out with minimum waiting time, the nurses and anaesthetist were excellent, as was the surgeon, the next thing I recall is being in the recovery room and being wheeled back to my room, very good after care with constant visits from staff. I was able to leave hospital after one night, now six weeks later following expert advice from physio my knee is improving all the time. I would fully recommend the Norwich Spire Hospital.

It was a really good experience and informative . I did feel I was asking too many questions and was wary of the time I was taking , had a tiny feeling of being hurried slightly , but that may have been my perception and I do tend to go round the houses when explaining stuff . Mainly as I don’t know what you need and don’t need to hear . But it was a much better experience than I have had in gracefield gardens previously . Much friendlier and feel listened to

I am yet to start treatment as my appointment was today, but it was lovely to be fully listened to. It’s impossible to cover everything in a 10 minute GP appointment, so I really appreciate the time taken to fully understand my individual needs - who I am, what is normal for me, a tailored treatment plan to MY specific needs, and looking at me as a whole person. Thank you
