I began working with Jo shortly after receiving my autism diagnosis at the age of 45. Jo’s mentoring was genuinely transformative. Through her insight, strategies, and lived understanding, Jo helped me to recognise who I am, clearly identify my strengths, and understand that I am not deficient. She supported me in developing the confidence and language to advocate for myself, to understand the reasonable adjustments I was entitled to, and, crucially, how to ask for them effectively. The impact of Jo’s work with me went far beyond personal insight. By applying the strategies and approaches she shared, I not only progressed professionally; I was promoted first to a senior role and then to Service Lead. Jo helped me align my authentic self with my professional practice, strengthening both my leadership and my effectiveness. Jo’s mentoring has had a lasting impact on my confidence, my career, and my sense of self. Her support was empowering, affirming, and deeply respectful, and I cannot overstate the value of what she helped me achieve.

I had an ACL reconstruction and medial repair operation in September. The care i received from Mr Dehne and the team at West Midlands hospital was exceptional. Everything from pre op to post op was and has been fantastic and put me at total ease. This was my first operation and first real experience being admitted into hospital and i couldn’t have been more comfortable. From my GP referral to my initial appointment it was less then 2 weeks. Before surgery I had 3 post operation assessments. The operation was completed as a day admission. I was kept full informed and treated with kindness and respect by all the staff. Mr Bhardwaj saw me on the morning before the operation and again later after it had been completed. Again, I was kept fully informed about my condition.

Staff at the practice seem to be unable to distinguish between NHS patients a d those who Are private and paying. Twice i was sent to the wrong waiting area with NHS patients. Only to be later sent to the private waiting area. As a paying patient i expect a certain level of compitance and care. So come on Barlborough, a little bit of interest in your role might help
