I have visited St Joseph’s a number of times for consultations and have always had a good experience. However as a day case today there was quite a wait for the appointment to begin. It was uncomfortable in the waiting area with a cold draught blowing in through sliding doors. The letter stated the admission was at 5pm but were only called in at 5.40pm. The procedure went well and the nurses/assistants were very friendly. The facility was clean and clutter free. However the consultant then went into this busy waiting area and informed my relative, who accompanied me, with the results of the procedure in front of other patients and staff. This was highly inappropriate and the hospital needs to ensure there are private areas to discuss medical information in future. For a privately paying service one would expect there to be better controls and more discretion to be provided for medical procedures.

I had a very pleasant appointment this afternoon with Mr Sabur Malek he was very impressed with my recovery after my knee operation. On 27th September 2025 and I am very happy with my progress after my operation I have started to drive my car after 6weeks . I do get some pain at.times but it very early on after my operation but I do go for a walk Daley and do my exercises regularly. My family have said they are very proud of my progress and effort as I have made I have a new knee for my Birthday I will be 87 years youg .so please don't be put off they do look after you very well and with care.

Following my visit for a general health check up I felt I had received a detailed and attentive consultation. I had been able to talk through any concerns and queries with time and consideration in an easy and informal manner. I felt at ease throughout routine examinations and was given guidance and advice for future considerations. I always leave the practice feeling reassured and in good hands. Communication throughout and feedback/ results after my appointment were extremely efficient.

In general, their service is excellent and easy to navigate. The only minor inconvenience is a small systems organisation issue. Data collection forms are sent as soon as follow-up appointments are scheduled (6 months in advance), and so the information would be out of date if completed at this stage. A workaround is to email for a new form link shortly before the appointment date, and to their credit they are always happy to comply with this.

I had a raised spot on my arm which was diagnosed as actinic keratosis- precancerous cells. GP recommend cream but didn’t want to use due to side effects. Dr Gupta was very professional and had a very caring and kind disposition. She used cryotherapy on the area which was only mildly uncomfortable for a few seconds and then checked the rest of my body for me. Thoroughly recommend and have booked my husband for a body check! Thank you ☺️

My experience at The Park was excellent, from my initial greeting at reception and my first consultation with Mr Dutta to my last. I didn't feel anxious in any way on the day of my operation. Dr Dutta, all the nurses who looked after me and the anaesthetist were all caring and lovely making me feel calm and relaxed throughout. I would have no hesitation in recommending Dr Dutta and staff to anyone. Thank you all very much.

The ADHD coaching I received was excellent. It was so nice to work with someone who had lived experience; it made all the difference. My coach was understanding, compassionate and a great mentor as well as a coach. She asked really thought provoking questions which helped me to think deeper and come up with solutions that would work for the challenges I was facing due to my ADHD and being Mum to an AuDHD daughter.

My named nurse Stacey was super. All of the nurses were very responsive and pleasant. Nothing was too much trouble. Veetu one of the care assistants was so kind to me helping me to shiwere sfter the op. The pirters were lovely. The foid was decent and well presented. Coffee was served on a tray with a doyley. Overall I felt like I had experienced proper care, not just another number in a queue.

Private care at the Western Eye Hospital

For private treatment it was very disappointing. The overall building and facilities were shabby and rundown. There was no reception or anyone to direct me as where to go. If your Trust is to offer private treatment, it has to be more professional and provide better quality facilities otherwise it is taking money under false pretences. It is not want private treatment should be.
