Back in March I landed heavily on an astroturf pitch whilst trying to make a comeback as a hockey player at the age of 69, not so clever! This resulted in sciatica type pain in both legs, lower back pain, and car journeys of more than twenty minutes being extremely painful. I attended a well known local sports physio clinic who had sorted numerous other instances of “sporting excess” over years. Unfortunately this time there was no significant improvement after three months. Looking for an alternative approach I found Claudiu’ clinic on Facebook, and thought that his more modern methods might be the way forward where traditional manipulation and exercises had failed. It took a few visits for there to be significant improvement , but gradual improvement there was. It was then a case of two steps forward, one step back, until after about three months the pain when driving had largely subsided, and life had settled at it’s “new normal”. Now with a 70 year old body , I am again in the gym three or four times a week, spinning, doing pilates and yoga, and now boxing…it’s never too late to find a new way to hurt yourself:-). Seriously Claudia has got my body working again, and I am thankful I found his clinic. I will have hesitation in using it again in the future.

I had a Rhinoplasty here with Lucian Ion. I'm grateful to all of the staff at the hospital for making my stay so comfortable; the room was clean and comfortable, and whenever I needed help the nurses were quick and helpful, plus the food was really good. The surgery and anaesthetic itself went smoothly, and it was re-assuring to talk to both surgeon (Mr Ion) and anaesthetist (Dr Warwick Marchant) beforehand, and then see Mr Ion multiple times after the surgery. When I was soon to be discharged from the hospital I momentarily (for a few minutes) felt very rough; the hospital staff were really friendly and there wasn't any rush to discharge. One thing I did note is that there wasn't always complete consistency between the surgeon and the hospital, e.g. on the admission time, or on how to clean the wounds, so I would suggest trying to improve this (the patient, at least speaking for myself, isn't always a reliable intermediary), however this was a very minor issue.

From our initial consultation through to recovery, Mr Terrace demonstrated exceptional professionalism, clarity, and compassion. Throughout the appointment, she explained everything clearly and made sure I fully understood the possible factors contributing to my symptoms. What I appreciated most was how supportive and knowledgeable she was. She provided me with a detailed plan to help manage Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and shared a range of helpful resources and tips after the appointment, which I found extremely valuable. Overall, I felt heard, understood, and well-guided. I would highly recommend Miss Katie Sanders to anyone seeking professional, compassionate, and comprehensive dietary advice.

I cannot rate my experience highly enough. Mr. Thakur and Dr. Richard the anesthetist were extremely professional and supportive and took time to clearly explain the procedure and process and answer all of my questions. The nursing staff, Steph, Brian, Natalie and Til were fantastic looking after me post op and were very friendly and supportive. The pharmacy team took great care in explaining my medication and advising on the pain relief regime to follow. Gary from the Physio team was great at explaining the rehab exercises and putting me through my paces to make sure I started my recovery in the best way. A great team, please pass on my thanks.

The hospital is soulless. The staff seem to wander about aimlessly. I sat waiting in an empty waiting room, no water or coffee. My consultant was late, though no one told me. There was no one to ask, I had to try and find someone to track my consultant down. A nurse appeared then sat in the waiting room on her phone on a video call and then on Instagram, she didn’t acknowledge me. They found my consultant who then disappeared again , no idea where she went. She was over a half an hour late for my appointment, not great but made worse that no one bothered to come out and tell me. Very poor experience and not what I expected from this hospital.

My wife and I were well looked after from the moment we entered Woodland hospital. The reception lady was very helpful and pleasant. We had arrived a little early but it wasn’t long before Mr Sutton personally met us in the Waiting Area and escorted us to his Room. It was nice to see Emma, the Nurse I had spoken to previously. I was examined, diagnosed and a plan of action organised very efficiently and all questions we had answered thoroughly and we felt reassured. We actually left the Hospital a couple of minutes after our original appointment time. We were very impressed with the whole experience.

I attended MWH Clinic and had consultations with Ms Latthe & an ultrasound scan performed by Dr Balogun. Ms Latthe was fantastic and thoroughly addressed my health concerns - I felt very reassured. I would definitely return to Ms Latthe if I required any surgical treatment in the future. Dr Balogun was so lovely and very kind. I was made to feel very comfortable throughout & her assistant made my feel totally at ease. I cannot fault the service I have received. I met Dr Jiang earlier this year having been diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. In our first meeting she took almost an hour to discuss and explain my cancer diagnosis and possible treatments . She took the time to answer all my questions and explained everything thoroughly. I was put at ease immediately and she consistently followed up with me after tests and during and after my treatment. She is compassionate, attentive and methodical and explained everything in simple terms . Brilliant is not too strong a word I would use to describe Dr Jiang

Avni is absolutely brilliant and I cannot recommend her enough. She started treated me during pregnancy but I have continued to see her after. Avni is really caring and intuitive and the only osteopath that I have been to who really manages to address any pain that I have been experiencing. She doesn't insist that you come back week after week, unless the treatment specifically requires a few sessions. She takes a holistic approach to wellness and provides really useful tips and recommendations that have helped me in all aspects of life.

I was in clinic today with my daughter, who is being treated for acne. Dr Christine was extremely helpful. She listened carefully to my daughter before examining her skin thoroughly. She listed all the options that she thought would be suitable and gave my daughter opportunity to discuss each of them. After careful consideration, a treatment plan that everyone was comfortable with, was agreed. I was really impressed with Dr Christine today and would highly recommend her. She is professional, knowledgeable and considerate.

One of the best experiences I have had with a GP in the UK, if you can put it like that. Dr. Banerjee was very professional and courteous. He was quick to understand and diagnose the exact nature of the problem and explained very clearly. You feel at ease while consulting with him and all your apprehension are handled with clarity, empathy and the utmost professionalism. I am glad I consulted with Dr. Banerjee and he will be my go-to Doctor in the future if the need arises.

The Spire has excellent facilities (car parking, waiting area, consulting rooms etc) and the reception staff are very attentive and helpful. The “formal check in” using an iPad is an unnecessary hurdle for patients to negotiate. The earlier system of just checking in with the receptionist was much better. My appointment with Dr. Balerdi was on time and a very useful session. Re. Dr. Balerdi himself, my very postive comments are in an earlier section.

Dr Dulay is a truly excellent Rheumatologist. He was incredibly kind, supportive and clear, he really listened to what I had to say, answered my questions, and I didn’t feel rushed in any way. He is clearly very knowledgable in a wide range of ateas and I would recommend him without hesitation. For reference I visited regarding an hEDS diagnosis. Dr Dulay was a breath of fresh air - validating and helpful. The best experience I’ve had with a consultant.

Overall my first appointment at Spire Lea hospital was a satisfactory experience. At the reception I was quickly registered as an insurance patient. The waiting time was not very long. The duration of the appointment was long enough to cover all my questions, explain my problem and get a gynaecology examination by the doctor with help of a female assistant. The doctor explained to me a treatment to follow to alleviate my symptoms.

Dr Sharon performed a TT division for my baby and provided a lactation consultation plus ongoing support in her breastfeeding group. With her support, I was able to get my son from the 2nd centile up to the 50th with exclusive breastfeeding, and his colic symptoms improved too. I couldn’t be more grateful to her for helping get us back on track - he’s 9 months now and still happily breastfeeding alongside solids.
