About Professor Christian Phillips

Professor Christian Phillips is a consultant gynaecologist and urogynaecologist and visiting professor at the University of Winchester. He is recognised nationally and internationally for his expertise in managing pelvic floor problems.

Professor Phillips is committed to helping women and has developed a particular expertise in treating pelvic floor problems such as incontinence and prolapse.

In addition to his specialist expertise in urogynaecology, Professor Phillips also has a busy practice in general gynaecology.

He has particular expertise in laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery. This is particularly difficult surgery to perform so Professor Phillips has pioneered several teaching programmes around the world to help others learn from his experience.

He is a strong believer in research and audit and so is actively involved in various research studies. He is currently undertaking research into potential benefits for laser therapy in gynaecology. He was appointed a visiting Professor at the University of Winchester in 2016 and helps national and international organisations including serving on the Executive committee for British Society of Urogynaecology and scientific committee for the International Urogynaecology Association. He is the senior gynaecologist at his trust and clinical lead for gynaecology and urogynaecology since 2009.

Professor Phillips provided me with excellent treatment for bladder incontinence. His approach was thoroughly professional, and extremely thorough in exploring the issues which concerned me. My previous issues were with emergency admittance twice on two separate occasions to a London Hospital with sepsis but no after care to deal with how to manage my bladder problems. At my wits end I finally took matters into my own hands and contacted Professor Phillips. Thank goodness I did and am happy to report that my on going care is much more than satisfactory and my daily life has been improved immensely.
