On arrival I waited in the reception area and there were already 3 other patients waiting for admission. The escort took the first one up and followed with the second and third. On his arrival back in reception he then disappeared through a side door. I thought he probably needed the bathroom but by the time it was 7.35 (and I had been waiting since 7am) I asked reception when I was going to be shown to my room. At which point he phoned the escort who then reappeared. When the nurse came to talk me through everything on admission I had to ask about the emergency call button. She had completely forgotten it and left it on the wall. When I came to put on my theatre gown one of the ties was missing at the neck I was told to just hold it Surely a hospital I am paying so much for can afford another gown?? I gave her my medication and she pushed it into the bedside cabinet and nothing further was done with it until I asked later in the day. I was amazed that the omezrapole had been missed off my medication list. I had to ask for it despite me going through all my medication at both pre- assessment (where I was told it was very important to take) and admission so it was all on the computer. Then, as they hadn’t been given my medication earlier in the day, the pregabalin had not been written up in time and was prescribed to start the following day (also see above about computer listings) I had to insist that I needed it that night. I was never asked if I wanted help to wash or shower so had nothing during my 2.5 days on the ward. And as I was tethered to the bed with a catheter I could not get to the bathroom on my own. Catering - staff were very pleasant but the menu seemed to be very rice based. Also it would have been nice to have a couple of tea/coffee rounds during the day instead of having to bother the nurses by pressing the emergency button to ask for a drink. I kept complaining how dry I was and had difficulty to even talk but I was never offered a saline drip. It took 3 days plus for this to wear off by drinking lots of water which in turn caused a lot of acid reflux from my hiatus hernia - something that has been ongoing since my discharge. The dry mouth also made it very difficult to swallow medication. Physios were very pleasant girls who walked me round the ward and gave me a leaflet about exercises but didn’t actually make me do even the simplest of them. On discharge I was fitted with a catheter. My discharge notes told me to go to a GP in 7 days for removal. Apparently GPs do not provide this service and when I phoned the ward for help the nurse was horrified that I had been given those instructions and that an appointment had not been arranged for me to go back to the Harborne. I am attending tomorrow so I will be interested to see if this all takes place. Overall this is the fourth private hospital I have been in and although the surroundings are probably the best I felt the 'in house' service was probably the worst. This is with the exception of the consultant, theatre staff and Claire (one of the night time nurses)

I've had a really good experience of RTN. I was referred from my GP on 31/07/25 Got message to complete questionnaires within 24 hours of them recieving referral. Got my assessment booked and completed 13/11/2025 (date I picked) Had the second stage on 29/01/2026 to discuss diagnostic outcome and to discuss next steps. Really helpful, obviously could go down the medication path but was given some really helpful advice on support groups and what GPs can offer in addition or standalone. Really helped discuss and give me an understanding and made me feel valid, great rapport with both video meetings, made me feel comfortable and at ease. Please note that there was just over 8 weeks between first and second appointment (xmas period too) There is approx 8 weeks wait for diagnostic report and 12 weeks wait for medication appointment. But they inform you of this and I've had a really good experience with them.

I found the whole experience of surgery with Dr. Kovacova to be extremely reassuring. I was relatively nervous about the ptosis op, she gave clear and considered information on what I should expect and the related risks before the op but was careful to explain that it was a relatively routine procedure that put me at ease. During the op she talked to me throughout, making me feel calm and relaxed. During my follow up appointment she was very friendly and explained the best course of action for healing. Staff at both the receptions were welcoming , No waiting time . Saw the specialist regarding ongoing issues with my knees and toes, and the he was extremely helpful and informative. He took the time to clearly explain what was happening, walking me through the MRI images in a way that was easy to understand. All available options were discussed thoroughly, including injections and physiotherapy, and I felt fully informed throughout the appointment. . Overall, a very positive and supportive experience.

Very easy to book an appointment, we could have had one the following week but due to not being available we were able to get an appointment the following week on a date and time of our choice. The Nuffield has been okay. All the nurses and doctors I met were lovely but I had a few issues with bloods and being told different information which was very frustrating but eventually everything worked out.
