I started the process under NHS care with no symptoms. After GP bloods, MRI, biopsy, CT, and bone scan (confirming the cancer was confined to the capsule), I was disappointed to hear that if I stayed on that path, nerve sparing would not be possible. A friend recommended I speak to Mr Laniado, and this was a turning point. It was clear from the start that I’d be in the most capable hands. His assessment was delivered in an authoritative yet compassionate manner – exactly what I was looking for. He organised a PSMA PET/CT scan which, as he had suspected, confirmed that nerve sparing would be both possible and safe due to the NeuroSAFE approach. (I also preferred the option of the Suprapubic tube). My mind was made up. I decided to self-pay and engage Mr Laniado. His office provided excellent support throughout with prompt and helpful communication. My faith in Mr Laniado was confirmed at each stage: prior to surgery, on the day, the day after, and during the follow-up. I have no hesitation in unreservedly recommending him to others in my situation.

I’ve had several consultations with Dr MacPherson over the past 7 years as my knees have deteriorated due to osteoarthritis. This year, we tried cortisone with limited effect so he escalated my half knee replacements. Pre-op, operative and post operative were always on time, very clear and I was made fully aware of risks as well as the benefits. Having had right knee pain since 2018, I was immediately aware, post anaesthetic, that my right knee was ‘sorted’ and pain free - it is absolutely amazing. The left has improved greatly over the 5 weeks and they are both incredible. 5 weeks and 1 day after having 2 half replacements, I played 28 holes of golf with no issues at all and no drop in my own performance. I am astounded as is my Dr wife. I never dreamt my operation could be so successful and I put this totally down to my surgeon who told me and my wife, that the operation had gone very very well. I could not have asked for more from Mr Macpherson, absolutely World class.

The appointment itself was very positive. Dr. Robert Gordon was calm, validating, and genuinely listened. The room was quiet, warm, and set up like a cosy study, which made it feel safe rather than clinical. He explained the diagnostic impressions clearly at the end in a way that finally made sense, and it didn’t feel dismissive. I left feeling understood in a way I haven’t experienced with other services, although the level of positivity felt unexpected and left me a bit uncertain about how to interpret it. The only issue was the arrival process. My appointment was in the late evening, and reception was closed. It wasn’t clear where to check in, and I had no phone signal. I had to rely on Wi-Fi and the website photos to work out where to wait. Overall, despite the initial uncertainty about the building, the clinical experience was extremely positive. Everything went smoothly, and the assessment itself was very professional.

Very pleasing experience. I was given plenty of time, and had a thorough examination of my ears, with the removal of wax, followed by a full hearing test. I returned a couple of weeks later, and having been shown several different hearing aids, went for ones that fit into the ear, with no wires or pieces behind the ear. I now have them on a months trial to see how I get on with them. I was quoted a price, which I understand I will pay if these are the correct ones for me, but only when I am totally satisfied. There is then a 3 monthly check included in the price. I believe I can try others if these are not right for me, and Mr Clive who I saw, was most helpful and understanding of a lady who hated the idea of wearing hearing aids!

After having ankle replacement surgery on 28/10/2025 which went very well from admission to discharge I returned today 16/12/2025 to have the plaster cast removed and fitted with a moon boot. My overall experience with Nottingham City Hospital and Mr Raglan and his team was more than satisfactory and in no way an unpleasant experience due to the excellent care of everyone involved with myself. I felt that every step was explained to me in a concise manner and I felt confident this was the right path for me. Anyone needing ankle replacement surgery should be reassured that Mr Raglan, his team and all the nursing staff will care for you In a befitting manner and there really is nothing to worry about. My overall experience was excellent. However when I got home I found I wasn't completely sure/ had forgotten exactly when and how to take all the medicines I was given and when to stop e.g. how slowly to reduce the codeine when I didn't need it any more. Clearly printed instructions to take home would have been reassuring straight away and later. I know I could have rung the Horder Centre any time for advice but at 82 years old my hearing is less than perfect and I worry I shall not remember everything I hear afterwards. The Horder hip replacement book is excellent and is still a constant source of referral and encouragement.

I met Dr David Annan today for a neck scan, I have to say I have never met a doctor who is so caring and understanding in my whole life He made me feel so comfortable as I was nervous, he kept asking if I had any questions and answered all my questions, he even asked my son if he wanted to ask anything which was such a nice gesture, Doctors like Dr David Annan really make you feel there are nice and caring people still out there, his happy personality really shines through Keep up the good work Dr David Annan and all the best for the future If in the future I ever need to see a Dr for my neck will only be you

Every one I met at the Princess Grace Hospital was most pleasant and attentive from the reception staff to the nursing staff. All of the nurses I met from the initial welcome on the 5th floor on 19/11/25 to both Halima and Fernanda who looked after me during the night and day were all especially kind to me. there were many others but unfortunately I did not write down their names. I think it would be difficult to think of a better place to be a patient.

I recently saw Mr Sedra for coccyx pain. At my consultation he was very compassionate and extremely knowledgeable. After referring me for an MRI it was confirmed that I had coccydynia, which is indeed what Mr Sedra had initially suspected. Throughout the whole process I’ve found Mr Sedra to be very pleasant, professional and kind. He always listens with care. Mr Sedra’s team have always been extremely kind, helpful and very efficient.

This was my first experience of the Hillsborough Private Clinic and the staff were very professional, knowledgeable and welcoming. While this is an older style building is was well set out and immaculately clean and while I appreciate that space is at a premium a groundlevel toilet facility would be an asset as while I have no mobility issues I can see where climbing stairs to the bathroom could be an issue for some.

This was very important to address any anxiety I could have had. His decision making was efficient & transparent and I was sent in for out patient procedure quickly. That whole part of the process was exactly in line with his base line estimate & executed flawlessly.

The procedure was quite uncomfortable at times but the staff were on hand to reassure me and to warn me when to anticipate some discomfort. Once the procedure had been completed, the discomfort totally dissipated and l haven't felt any pain at all since - none whatsoever!
