From our very first appointment, it was clear that he is an extremely knowledgeable and highly experienced consultant paediatrician, but what truly sets him apart is the way he combines that expertise with genuine compassion and patience. Dr Ottayil is incredibly thorough. He takes the time to carefully review every detail, explains findings clearly, and ensures that nothing is overlooked. He never rushes appointments and always makes space for questions, no matter how small, taking care to explain things in a way that is easy to understand and reassuring as a parent. His depth of knowledge is evident, and his clinical judgement inspires complete confidence. Throughout our time working with him, he has been consistently supportive and approachable. He listens attentively, takes concerns seriously, and treats both child and parent with respect and kindness. As a parent, it makes an enormous difference to feel heard and understood, and Dr Ottayil excels at this. His calm and reassuring manner has been invaluable during what can otherwise be a very stressful experience. He has been truly amazing to deal with at every stage — professional, compassionate, and dedicated. All staff, from reception to nurses and surgeons, I found to be friendly, courteous, helpful and professional. I was generally rather nervous about the whole process, this being the very first time I experienced any form of surgery or a stay in hospital. However, I was treated with the utmost respect and understanding and felt well advised at all times, allowing me to make informed decisions at my own pace, without being pressured. I had to wait a bit longer than I had anticipated for surgery but by comparison to the NHS, it was efficient and slick. It is early days to comment properly on my shoulder replacement but things are progressing well although slowly and I am hopeful for the future.

I required a caesarean birth because my baby was in the breech position. Stelios was really warm and kind. He offered me a scan on the day to check if my baby had turned the right way around before the surgery. He listened to my birth preferences (delayed cord cutting and skin to skin) and my preferences were respected. I am sure this contributed to the success we have had with breastfeeding and my baby seems very healthy. My incision is also healing well, I did not have any infection or complications and we were able to go home after just staying for one night in the hospital, which I am very grateful for.

I saw Dr V for my 11 year old son. Dr V was very attentive, patient focused and gentle. He spoke to me but also my son and made him feel very comfortable by engaging with him. His examination was thorough and his direction was clear. On our return visit with Dr V he was clear amd explained the outcome of the investigations, again not ignoring my son and explaining in simple terms to him. Went in for atrial fibrillation ablation procedure. Couldn't have gone better went in slightly late but whole procedure was very smooth. I felt fully informed of what was going on and in safe hands all the way through. Came out the other side with very little pain or discomfort and feel very confident that this procedure will be a success, even though I am aware and have been informed that it's around 70-80% in reality. Overall can't fault Dr. Eysenk at all

I came for some pain on my neck and right leg and he is been very kind and patient, explained me always everything he was doing and in a couple of sessions i started feeling better by session 3 all the pain was gone! I feel very fortunate to be receiving care from The Royal Marsden at Sutton. Being treated at a specialist hospital focused solely on cancer is a very different experience from other NHS hospitals. All staff are incredibly caring, supportive, and excellent in their roles. Despite the longer journey from Kent, I feel it is absolutely worth it to receive such outstanding care.
