I saw Professor Quick for a second opinion on spinal accessory nerve palsy. He was professional but kind, caring and clear with this communication. He spent a long time going through my previous medical history, clarifying the onset of my signs and assessing my shoulder/scapular function. Following this he detailed his assessment of me, my primary problems and my treatment options. He identified an additional, treatable problem which has never previously been identified despite me having been assessed by multiple other professionals. Additionally, I was really impressed that he considered and discussed the psychological side of my previous treatment, complications and my ongoing injury - an aspect that I myself had not fully appreciated. I left feeling much more informed and clear on my current plan and my future treatment options. Cannot speak highly enough about Professor Quick - very pleased that I chose to seek an assessment with him.
Professor Quick gave clarity and honesty about surgical success rates for Thoracic Outlet decompression. His aim is to treat the individual living with the TOS condition most appropriate to their particular presentation, rather than treating Thoracic outlet syndtome as a homogenous condition; with 'one size surgery, fits all'. I feel reassured he will offer a minimally invasive approach should I opt for surgery.
NTOS/aTOS: Unlike previous specialists I’ve met, he took his time to listen to me and all my strange symptoms, did tests and he was very positive regarding my diagnosis and that surgery could fix my problem. He did the surgery very well, I’ve had almost no pain after the surgery and with all the findings i’m pretty sure my arm will go back to normal. I can highly recommend him!
