During my recent experience at Cleveland Clinic London, I was under the care of Professor James Teo and Dr. Dipesh Patel for my diagnosis of myelitis. I’d like to share a review of the care, diagnosis, and treatment I received during my short inpatient stay and subsequent outpatient follow-up. Diagnosis: The professionalism and expertise of both Professor Teo and Dr. Patel were evident. They took the time to thoroughly review my medical history, listen attentively to my symptoms, and conduct a series of comprehensive tests. The diagnostic process was meticulous, involving advanced imaging and laboratory analyses, all explained clearly, which left me feeling confident about my care. I was admitted as an inpatient for a couple of days, and my stay was exceptionally comfortable and reassuring. The modern hospital environment and top-notch facilities contributed to a positive experience. The nursing staff was attentive and highly trained, providing outstanding care around the clock. I appreciated their responsiveness to my needs, ensuring I felt comfortable during my brief stay. Daily visits from Professor Teo and Dr. Patel allowed me to discuss my progress and any concerns I had, reinforcing my sense of being valued and cared for. Following my inpatient stay I transitioned smoothly into outpatient care. My follow-up appointments have been invaluable, with thorough evaluations of my ongoing recovery. The clinic’s proactive communication, including test results, appointment reminders and prompt responses to my queries, has greatly supported my journey. They also provided me with educational resources to help manage my condition effectively. In conclusion, my experience at Cleveland Clinic London, particularly under the care of Professor Teo and Dr. Patel, has been exemplary. Their dedication to providing personalized and compassionate care, paired with their expertise, has made a significant difference in my ongoing recovery journey. Admin efficiency Things didn't get off to a great start when there seemed to be an issue regarding what my insurance would cover, even though I had received two confirmations from the insurer over the phone and one confirmation by email. I felt a bit like a criminal and that I was lying about the treatment being covered. In the end, the insurer had to phone Practice Plus direct to sort it out, because no-one would believe that I was telling the truth. I've never come across this problem before at the Spire or the Nuffield. Usually the admin trail works very smoothly. Cleanliness The carpet in the waiting area is dirty and is covered in tea/coffee stains. There were pubic hairs on the toilet seat in one of the toilets by the waiting area. Not great at all. Waiting Time I am a private patient and I usually use the Spire in Bristol or the Nuffield, which run to time. My appointment for an injection was 30minutes late. Unacceptable. Staff To be fair, some of the staff are lovely. But some of the staff are downright rude. When I went to speak to one of the receptionists after waiting for my appointment for over 20minutes, I simply asked to check that I was on the system. The answer "yes". Oh I said, it's just that I haven't been called yet. Is there a delay? The answer "yes" - and a roll of the eyes to say "yes and your problem with that is??" I have to have another appointment at some point, so let's hope that my next experience is better.

I am extremely grateful to be referred to Dr. Bhatia . who has been extremely thorough in looking into every aspect of the diagnosis and ensured to rule out any possible complications. His immediate attention, preponing the tests to ensure the results are in quickly so treatment can be started as early as possible, was highly commendable. He has been very patient and explained every step of the procedure to ensure that everything was clear and thorough. I am so delighted to be seen by Dr. Bhatia and highly recommend him. I had a knee replacement, all I had to do was follow the instructions of the medical staff, who were all very professional, clear but above all kind. Mr Krishnan (the surgeon) did a wonderful job, this is a painful procedure but the nurses made sure relief was only a bell push away. I was given exercises to do that were gradually increased as the days went on. Once home I followed all the instructions and exercises given and regained full mobility by the end of six weeks. The hospital staff worked as a team and were very supportive, kind and positive. I can’t praise my surgeon enough and all the wonderful staff. Because of their treatment I made a textbook recovery in the shortest time possible.

I had a check up and cleaning from the dentist Sonia. What a marvellous professional and friendly person. I am extremely nervous at dentist but Sonoa went above a beyond to make me at easy. She transmitted me calm and I'd never ever thought to feel calm at the dentist. I only hope she will not leave as well. I am so tired of OSD turnover of staff it's very stressful for me getting used to someone and than change it. Sonia is precious if I was OSD boss I'd do whatever I can to keep this kind of empathetic professional with me. Doc Sonia thank you from the bottom of my heart to make me feel special. After starting shockwave therapy and following a rehab programme with Zack, I’ve finally seen real improvement. I’m now back to running pain-free, which feels amazing. The rehab plan was tailored specifically to my needs and progressed in a really clear, structured way. The shockwave treatment definitely wasn’t comfortable, but the results have been well worth it. I was also given a plan to prevent the injury coming back in the future.

I was seen by Mr Malik for my knee arthritis. He planned surgery but for medical reasons it could not be carried out at the same hospital. Mr Malik transferred me to HCA Harborne Hospital and did the surgery there. He has been superb with his mannerism, care and explanation. I am around 5 months from surgery and can not thank him enough for all that he has done for me. I am walking pain free and getting my steps in and travelling without fear of knee giving way.

It was great to be able to see Mr Steven Lau at the Spencer, although a great shame that the NHS does not recognise crossover between private and public services. I had paid £250 to see Mr Lau for the same consultation as I had on 7th January, meaning that I am no further along the path of accessing the treatment I’ve waited 21 months for. I am grateful, however, that I’m accessing private services via the NHS

my physio therapist was most helpful. I have been seeing him about once every 2 months. He always asks about my progress from the last visit and we then work on the areas that I pick out. This time he showed me various exercises relevant to my current situation. I did the exercises with his supervisio0n and I found that most valuable as he could show me what I got ok and how I could do the exercise better
