Mr Ian Hunt

Mr Ian Hunt is a supremely skilled surgeon and a truly lovely man.  I have a complex history of severely painful rib issues that have required surgical intervention, and he has managed my case with compassion and care. He was the first clinician to take my pain seriously and commissioned the diagnostic imaging that confirmed his strong suspicion that I had slipping rib syndrome.  Because Mr Hunt works closely with the world's leading rib imaging specialist, Dr Ali Abbasi, he is able to gauge exactly how ribs move in real time and to propose the best course of action to manage them. Only a year ago, things would have looked very bleak for someone like me with recurrent symptoms following resection. However, Mr Hunt has stuck by me through thick and thin, and has recently developed a new and very elegant technique to stabilise resected ribs that has proved absolutely life-changing for me. I have had a superb surgical outcome and I can only express my gratitude and delight as I go from strength to strength.   On the day of the surgery itself, Mr Hunt was incredibly kind, as I had got myself rather worked up. He then checked in on me several times as I recovered. His nursing team were also wonderful and I felt very cared for. My pain was well-controlled and my incisions were minimal. His anaesthetist was superb, and somehow contrived to manage things so that I did not vomit, which in itself was a minor miracle.     In addition to being right at the forefront of his field, Mr Hunt is also very caring clinician who understands how awful slipping rib syndrome can be. He has always taken the time to discuss things in detail and explain everything clearly. He follows his patients closely and has lots of helpful, targeted suggestions to optimise post-operative recovery. I feel enormously lucky to be under Mr Hunt's care.

Mr Hawary is be far the best medical consultant I have ever experienced, his empathy and compassion for his patients is simply exemplary. I was in a terrible state when I went to see Mr Hawary who then reassured me, did not make me feel like I was over reacting he instead empathised with me and I felt so much better. I have never seen a more compassionate and passionate consultant in my life. If consultants could follow his lead I am very sure this could revolutionise the medical world. This may seem over the top, it’s not. He is a wonderful consultant who really genuinely cares about his patients he cares about the pain I experience and asked very detailed questions to ensure I walked away feeling better, and able to cope he did not at any point marginalise how I felt, he is an impactful knowledgeable caring consultant and I hope I never see him again in the nicest possible way, but I will not hesitate to recommend him to anyone who faces the same issue I did. He has had a a very big impact on me and I am sincerely grateful for the caring and compassionate treatment I have received from Mr Hawary. I would not even hesitate to go to him again should I need anything. He is amazing at his job and I hope he gets the sincere recognition he deserves. If I could give him a knighthood I would. Outstanding patient care, outstanding sense of humour, which always helps in these hard times, and a real genuine compassion for his patients I could not has asked for anything more. I am Betty's daughter. My mum has mobility issues. Getting her from the car park into the diagnostics centre was incredibly difficult. We borrowed a wheel chair from the helpful car park attendant. But it was raining so heavily that by the time we got inside my 87yr old mum was soaked to the skin. She had to sit in wet clothing for 4.5hrs until I got her home and changed. Luckily the car park attendant helped us back to the car at the end of her procedure. You REALLY need a drop-off right zone at the door to the centre, with seats inside to help relatives get their lives ingress in safely.. The staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful, but even with their help, this was a very stressful visit fdue to lack of access and horrendous weather conditions.

I was struggling to get a face to face appoinment with my NHS GP. Filling out their triage forms where tick boxes didn’t cover half my symptoms and not enough room in the comments to describe my issues and concerns was getting me nowhere. So I decided to go private. Daleswood was recommended to me by a friend. I was happy to pay for a 30min consultation where I could go through the history and symptoms I was experiencing. It was well worth it, blood tests were recommended and a diagnosis made that explained all the symptoms not just one or two. I was so relieved to finally have been listened to and believed. Not just told ‘we only deal with one thing at a time’

My experience of this appointment was genuinely five-star. The procedure I had was performed by Vicky with meticulous care. The clinic gives a luxurious atmosphere making you feel at ease the minute you walk through the door. The staff at VB health from the reception area to the practitioners are very friendly, warm professional and very knowledgeable. You are made to feel completely at ease and well informed about the treatment I was having. I cannot recommend VB Health highly enough this is definitely the only place to go for treatments. The consultant was rude and confrontational about my need to have postponed previous appointments. These had been given to me on Tuesdays with the the option to change if not convenient. I endeavoured to change some to the Saturday clinic but this was not possible so I missed that month. I walked up 12 floors as there were no lifts available.Only 14% capacity.I got to the Thames view suite via the cardiac lift because a cardiac unit staff member took pity on me and put me into lift 14 to complete my Access Path to the private patients unit. What on earth is going on and why does the lift maintenance contract not have a 50% minimum functionality profile as a term for service?
