Firstly I want to say a huge thanks to the nightingale in general. I’m struggling to put into words quite what an impact this place has had on me. I am healthier in body and soul. I have felt heard and seen. I have grown. I both realise how validly difficult some of my lived experiences have been whilst simultaneously learning from others just how lucky I am. I want to give a particularly big shout out to everyone involved in cleaning and maintenance to help this crumbling building also grow along side us. I also want to shout out all of the staff on floor 4. Again I am lost for words as to express how much of an impact they had on me as a human. Particularly shout out to nana for always being present and warm and sharing music with me. To Nordia for reminding me to put my health first. To Anna for just ALWAYS taking good care of me. To Mohammed for sharing how my soul works with kind words. To everyone who took me out for escorted leave to feel less boxed in and had a laugh and helped me feel like a real individual with a voice. All of this being said I know that there are still some things that run a bit deeper, more systemic, that need to be changed. When I first came to see him, I was struggling with severe anxiety and frequent panic attacks that had taken over my life. I wanted to share & express my upmost gratitude for the treatment and care delivered to my son on 20th September 2025 who has Neurodiverse needs. Spencer hospital and all the staff were absolutely fantastic in supporting him through his recent gallbladder removal surgery. Every care and attention was given to him from the moment we were referred, to pre consultation and pre operative assessment to the moment he was discharged after a successful surgery. Mr Boshnaq and his medical team did an amazing job, reassuring us every step of the way and fully explained procedures and took their time to ensure we both felt comfortable. I really cannot thank everyone enough, nurses porters etc… This is what great care looks like and I wish every NHS experience could be as positive. Thank you, you made what could have been a terribly traumatic experience for my son into a calm and gentle process and I feel truly blessed to have such a great hospital, with caring and competent staff in my home town.

Peter Kenyon was the only doctor in 5 years that actually LISTENED, spoke to me like an equal and successfully treated my shoulder with surgery - slap repair/bicep re attachment/shoulder stabilisation. His words to me after surgery, were immensely validating and made a mockery of every professional that had dismissed me with painkillers and even a prescription for a daily 30 minute mental health walk! “You weren’t making it up” - so many doctors could learn a lot from him, particularly around women’s pain - even after surgery when my shoulder froze and the physio was dismissive, he again listened and acted to alleviate the pain. He was a gentleman from the first consultation to discharge, ensuring excellent outcomes and I really can’t recommend him highly enough.

What could have been an uncomfortable procedure was made simple and stress-free thanks to his skill and compassion. I arrived on time at 10.55 for an 11 am appointment and 40 mins later than my appointment I asked if Mr Patel was running late. Staff checked and came back to me saying it was a 40 mins delay and I was next. It's really noisy in the waiting area so I felt I needed to pay attention for my consultant to call my name. Could you have an electronic board to help visually with who is next and for information about running late etc. I had another appointment so I was pretty stressed about getting to it. I also was wanting a drink from the cafe but felt I needed to stay out in case I was called.

Her expertise and skill have given me my life back after years of suffering a lot of pain and discomfort, she is also the loveliest, kindest lady. Miss Munyame will inform you and support you through your journey, starting from your first consultation , surgery , through to your final sign off. I would highly recommend Miss Munyame and have already recommended her to two friends, one of who has already recently had the same surgery with her.

Mr Sanat Shah was courteous and professional at all appointments. He explained the procedure well and happily answered my questions. The operation took place on the agreed date and on time. Mr Sanat Shah visited me in hospital following the operation to check on my progress and I had three follow up outpatient appointments. Since the operation my knee has healed without concern and the difference having the operation has made to my life is huge. I can now walk for longer, further and faster without pain. I am very happy indeed.

The visit with with MR Sinnott was in overall very great, he did excellent job with micro-suction of my ear and resolve the issue and also investigate root cause of the issue. His very friendly and positive attitude was calming. The only think I would improve was, to explain what is really happening, when I read the letter for my GP there was much more details which I wasn't aware. How ever I would definitely come back and recommend to others. Thank you for the care.

My recent visit to Optegra Eye Hospital Manchester for lens replacement surgery was excellent. There was no waiting time and all the Staff were extremely helpful and reassuring to help me stay calm prior to my operation. Post operation the Staff gave me all the eye drops needed and detailed instructions on how to proceed over the coming weeks. I was also given all contact numbers in case I had any questions or worries.

The whole experience from consult through ops to follow ups has been seamless and mostly painless. A little discomfort for 24 hours was all I experienced. The extra YAG laser treatment a year later has been successful. An excellent consultant and surgeon in my opinion.

My experience was excellent. Mr Abdelrahman explained the whole process to me, he reassured me about the operation and provided me with an ongoing update throughout the operation. I have met Mr A on a couple of occasions post op and he has offered ongoing advice, support and reassurance during those consultations.
