O 13 December I attended for a pre-med prior to spinal tap. Very good treatment until advised that the spinal tap cancelled due to my ECG. I was urged to immediately contact my GP or A&E. At Worthing A&E I was advised that due to current medication that I am taking for this issue it would have been OK to continue with the spinal tap and it was suggested that One Hospital refused to continue due to your lack of facility if the op went wrong. The journey to One Hospital, 90 miles each way, the time taken for that journey and the pre med followed by 2 hours in A&E was expensive. Before attending One Hospital I had completed a form at your request which listed the medication that I was taking and the reason. Why was I invited to that pre med? This is the second time that One Hospital have refused to go ahead with an operation that was subsequently completed by NHS without a problem. I now have no confidence in the One Hospital and will not seek further appointments.

I approached Miss Akolekar on October 25th.for a second opinion, recommended by BUPA. She immediately assessed my situation and within a week had organised an Ultrasound scan (then a PetScan) and appointments with an oncologist, a haematologist and a plastic surgeon. The plastic surgeon and his specialist nurse initiated a wound dressing regime which healed my mastectomy wound in just over a week (a wound that had remained open and infected since early August). Miss Akolekar kept me fully informed throughout these appointments, telling me the possible outcomes and filling me with confidence that my situation was reparable. She was always kind, professional and empathetic.

Always an absolute pleasure coming to Vermilion, the staff are just on another level. I honestly think you wouldn’t get that kind of treatment anywhere else in the country. Customer service is first class. Everyone, from the admin teams and front of house, to the Drs and Hygienists. Had my third Hygienist appointment with Debbie last week, she is absolutely amazing, always feel better after seeing her (mentally and with a sparkling mouth 😂). I had a hip replacement 10 weeks ago. This was carried out at The Yorkshire Clinic by Dr Brew. The whole process was super smooth and the treatment was excellent. I have recovered superbly and the new hip is amazing, it’s almost like it never happened . Anyone that is anxious about having this done then please don’t be as apart from a few weeks of discomfort the outcome is totally worth it . My other hip will or need doing in a few years and I can say without hesitation I would have this done in a heartbeat
