I had the misfortune of seeing Dr Mark Gillett recently for a shoulder complaint. I had been in pain on and off for several months, and felt somewhat frightened about the prospect of being unable to resolve the issue, or having to resort to surgery. At my first appointment, Dr Gillett performed a cursory physical examination, asked me very few questions about the course of my treatment to date and seemed keen to get me out of the door as quickly as possible. His recommendation for an injection was made within about five minutes, and he provided very little explanation as to why. After an MRI scan I returned for a follow up appointment. Once more I found Dr Gillett to be rude and unsympathetic. I was eager to understand the nature of my MRI results and the course of treatment that Dr Gillett was recommending, but he seemed to treat my questions as an affront to his medical expertise. Far from assuaging my fears or clarifying my understanding, he treated my enquiries as if they were a nuisance. When I explained that I still do not understand what was actually wrong and why he was suggesting an injection, he became increasingly obnoxious, suggesting that I should simply accept his 'twenty five years of experience' and telling me that I had a very 'rigid' view of my treatment. I tried explaining again that I was simply trying to understand the course of action, and again was rebuffed curtly. I found his behaviour throughout deeply unsatisfactory, and he only added to my distress managing what is already a challenging and painful injury. I will not return to see him again and I will not recommend that anyone else does.

I was taken into a room that was obviously not cleaned after the last patient as their clothes were still there. My postop instructions were to stay warm. I was absolutely freezing after surgery because the nurses turned the heat down to suit another patient. I was on the end bed and no one came to check on me for ages so I couldn’t get another blanket. I told the nurses at least three times that I don’t eat dairy. I then had cow’s milk and dairy butter placed in front of me which is offensive. The nurses paid a lot of attention to the person next to me, but rarely checked on me. I felt overlooked. By this point, I just wanted to go home but again they prioritised other patients so I was late to leave.

Upon meeting my surgeon, Mr Davies, he provided clear and comprehensive information regarding my knee replacement surgery and took the time to answer all of my questions thoroughly. The theatre, nursing, and ward staff were excellent from the moment I arrived for surgery through to my discharge, and I felt well cared for throughout my stay. I would highly recommend Mr Davies. The high standard of care I received meant that I felt completely at ease and had no hesitation in returning three months later to undergo my second knee replacement.

Steve is excellent. Personable and very professional and clearly knows his stuff. He operated on our son following a shoulder dislocation playing rugby. Throughout the process, Steve was clear with the surgical options and very thorough in his explanations, particularly understanding with the emotions of a teenager and his desperation to be back on the pitch again. He has a friendly manner and was always quick to answer extra questions we had between consultations. He did an excellent surgical job on our son and we’d have no hesitation in recommending him. Mr Kasem was very kind, made me feel confident I was going to have my scans and then he would give me a clear outcome that I would understand. He took the time, without me even asking, to explain the mammogram I had last week, what they had seen and how the scoring system worked. He then told me exactly what would happen today at the appointment and he specifically asked my consent to examine me, and again before he carried out the examination itself. He checked with me if I had any questions at the end of both the before and after consultations. Honestly, I could not think of a single thing that could have been better, I felt he was incredibly respectful and thoughtful as a doctor.

Mr Gill was very professional, kind in his manner and understood that my condition was affecting my quality of life as an active older person. He was very clear with his explanations as to the surgery he recommended and answered any questions that I had. He put me at ease before the surgery and was very attentive after the surgery with his excellent bedside manner. I am now fully covered and getting back on with my busy life so overall I was very pleased with Mr Gill and his expertise. As an addition I was very well looked after at the hospital and the nursing staff were very caring.

My surgery took place there and had to stay overnight due to vertigo and dizziness. The hospital was friendly, new and pristine. The nursing staff outstanding as well as of course the medical team. I had dinner and breakfast and it was also healthy and delicious. Yesterday I returned to have the dressing removed and it was equally good. If any criticism would be to the pharmacy with a 30minute wait to get my prescription and also despite being a Bupa hospital not having the availity to charge Bupa for medication- I am under Bupa Global and in other Bupa hospitals this is the case.

His explanations were clear and compassionate, and he took time to understand both my medical and personal circumstances rather than rushing through the appointment. I came away feeling more informed, supported, and less alone in what has been a very difficult period. I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking a psychiatrist who combines clinical expertise with genuine empathy.

The first consultation with Mr Dudderidge was very helpful and he was able to book the surgery I needed within a couple of weeks. The day of the surgery went according to plan although the following night was quite uncomfortable, but this was not a consequence of Mr Dudderidge’s work. A follow up consultation was required to manage some post surgery symptoms but this was organised quickly and the issues were resolved satisfactorily. Several months on, I am very satisfied with the outcome and would happily recommend Mr Dudderidge to prospective patients.

It was so reassuring to be certain I was seeing an actual medically qualified person (uncertain in todays NHS) whose judgement therefore I felt I could trust. Dr Ridout was very understanding and approachable - an attentive listener, carried out an objective examination and was happy to discuss it together with why she was suggesting the proposed treatment plan. I have just had my second appointment with Dr. Rogers regarding a fracture in my left index finger. Something that was very positive about the appointment was the precision and speed in which I was treated. This is something very rare to find when receiving health care - it enabled me to return to school as quickly as possible which I appreciate greatly. Cannot tell you about my visit as my reply to asking for an appointment is we don’t have and appointments and try calling on a Monday Tuesday or Thursday. Absolutely disgusting I’d be happy if given a date in a months time . You know you can never either get through on the phone or online to ge pain and with many other issues t an appointment. Spend a hour on hold to be told there are no appointments so I’m living in absolute pain and many other issues what a waste of time

All the staff I came into contact with today were very kind. At each stage I had an explanation of what would happen next, and they checked in I was ok. Every colleague that spoke to me asked if I had any questions. There was only a few minutes between each stage and the clinic is really comfortable and clean. Everyone was friendly and professional and I had complete confidence at every stage that I would get accurate results. A big thank you to everyone today.

After failing to get an appointment with my GP, my Daughter made an appointment for me at WLC , within a couple of hours of phoning I was seen by the lovely Dr. York. She identified me having a chest infection, and reduced power in my lungs . Collected prescription from chemist. At 82 , I think I would have ended up in hospital had it not seen this Doctor. Amazing service Now a day later feeling much better. 😎

I could not praise Rekesh highly enough! I have a narrow right ear canal and so was somewhat concerned as to how difficult the 'procedure' might be - but I need not have worried; it was totally pain-free with no discomfort whatsoeve and, as a result, I would not hesitate to recommend this practice.
