Dr Waseem Ashraf

Dr Waseem Ashraf is a highly skilled gastroenterologist. His area of expertise is in minimally invasive procedures, including endoscopy. He was one of the world's first capsule endoscopy operators and has particular expertise in this area.

Dr Ashraf has extensive experience with endoscopic diagnostic and therapeutic approaches, including endoscopic treatments that, in certain situations, eliminate the need for surgery. Furthermore, he has extensive expertise with treatments involving the stomach, colon, small intestine, pancreas, and bile ducts. His clinical interests are in minimally invasive treatments, bowel disease, colon cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, and other gastrointestinal disorders.

Following the completion of his Fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Nebraska Medical Centre in the United States, Dr Ashraf accepted a consultant position in gastroenterology in the United Kingdom in 1995. He has been involved in research throughout his career, publishing a number of research articles in peer-reviewed journals, as well as over 30 scientific abstract publications and two book chapters.
