About Dr Waseem Ashraf
Dr Waseem Ashraf is a highly skilled gastroenterologist. His area of expertise is in minimally invasive procedures, including endoscopy. He was one of the world's first capsule endoscopy operators and has particular expertise in this area.
Dr Ashraf has extensive experience with endoscopic diagnostic and therapeutic approaches, including endoscopic treatments that, in certain situations, eliminate the need for surgery. Furthermore, he has extensive expertise with treatments involving the stomach, colon, small intestine, pancreas, and bile ducts. His clinical interests are in minimally invasive treatments, bowel disease, colon cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, and other gastrointestinal disorders.
Following the completion of his Fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Nebraska Medical Centre in the United States, Dr Ashraf accepted a consultant position in gastroenterology in the United Kingdom in 1995. He has been involved in research throughout his career, publishing a number of research articles in peer-reviewed journals, as well as over 30 scientific abstract publications and two book chapters.

Dr Ashraf was friendly, professional and knowledgeable.
Dr Ashraf was so kind and explained everything very clearly and thoroughly. I am so glad that I managed to see him because I have a course of action.
Dr. Ashraf was brilliant - he arranged for further tests promptly and I believe took the correct approach before diagnosing; whereas NHS GP had given me medication without fully understanding the underlying causes!
A colonoscopy is hardly a pleasant ‘thing’ but I couldn’t recommend a better / more professional and nicer Dr for one than Dr Ashraf
Dr Waseem Ashraf was very reassuring and thorough. He even stayed behind to go over my xray results instead of waiting for another appointment. I suspect he sensed I was worried but I feel very lucky and grateful to be in his care.
