Dr Ehsan Karimiani

Dr Ehsan Karimiani is a Clinical Geneticist based at Kensington International Clinic (KIC) in London, with extensive experience in clinical genetics, genomic diagnostics, research, and patient counselling.

He provides specialist genetic counselling and risk assessment for individuals and families with a history of hereditary cancers, including breast cancer, Lynch syndrome, ovarian cancer, and familial colorectal cancer. His practice includes comprehensive cancer risk evaluation, tumour–germline correlation, pre- and post-test counselling, and personalised surveillance planning.

Dr Karimiani has a strong interest in reproductive genomics and
preconception medicine. He supports couples with carrier screening, preimplantation genetic testing (PGT-M and PGT-A pathways), prenatal risk assessment, and counselling for inherited disorders. He works closely with fertility specialists to integrate genetics into assisted reproduction in a structured and evidence-based manner.

He also has expertise in  audiogenetics and inherited hearing impairment,  providing genomic evaluation for congenital, progressive, and familial hearing loss. His approach integrates audiological findings with targeted gene panels and exome-based testing, supporting both diagnosis and access to emerging therapies and clinical trials.

Dr Karimiani has over eight years’ experience across the NHS and academic institutions. He is an Honorary Lecturer in Medical Genetics at University College London and remains actively involved in research, education, and multidisciplinary collaboration within genomic medicine.

He has particular experience working with individuals and families from diverse ethnic backgrounds, including populations with higher rates of consanguinity, and provides culturally sensitive counselling tailored to individual needs.
