I have just returned home after a full hip replacement. We were recommended to St Joseph’s and I can’t speak highly enough of the team and the care I received. Many things stand out. The friendly, yet professional ambience, the obviously good relations and communications across all staff. Although my visit lasted only just over 24 hours, at no time did anything feel rushed or ‘conveyor belt’. Just well organised with a feeling that I was being very well looked after. The room and facilities were first class, comfortable and super clean. The operation itself was clearly explained and went without hitch. There was a lot of experience in that room, not least of the lead consultant and anaesthetist. Recovery was also much quicker than I expected, with excellent follow on from the Physio team and 6 sessions into the future as part of the package. I would finally like to express my thanks to all the staff who have made such a positive difference for me.

The administrative processes are not always easy to naviagate but the staff at the hospital are professional and helpful. Staff on reception seem well briefed on what information is needed from patients. Clinical staff - both on the wards and in the CT scanning teams were professional and reassuring. It would be useful - for people accompanying a patient for a procedure - to have some information about facilities available to them. I was at the hospital for 12 hours and the only way to get something to eat was to go out of the hopsital to buy it. It would have been helpful to have some catering available on site - if only by machine.

Jack has helped me manage the symptoms of Ehlers Danlos Syndrome through a tailored strengthening and fitness program. He's measured my progress over time using rep count reports and strength measuring devices as well as charting general wellbeing. We recently started adapted boxing too which I have enjoyed. I feel really supported and motivated to reach my goals. He is understanding and meets you where you are at fitness-wise, as well as pushing you to the best you can be. I would definitely recommend Jack to other people with long term health conditions like me.

I’d definitely recommend your clinic but was a little disappointed today by the lack of sympathy from the sonographers when I went for my 6 week 4 day scan. I explained that the pregnancy wasn’t viable (I’d had a blood test at your clinic on Saturday and learn by HCG only increased 8% in 48 hrs) and this would be my third miscarriage in 12 months from my IVF pregnancies and I didn’t receive any shock or sympathy for this. It wasn’t a big deal but if the practice wants to be even better some additional warmth and sympathy would go a long way.

The surgery is the 2nd cataract operation I have had in 3 months. It is painless and the outcome is unimaginable. Mr Shafiq is a highly skilled surgeon, he has literally turned my vision back to my late 20's before I was required to ear glasses. The facility is far superior to your average NHS hospital. The staff are dedicated, friendly and professional. They are patient and nothing is too much trouble if you have questions or need reassurance. This has been an amazing experience

I went in for a saline sonography very nervous about the pain, she made me feel so comfortable and explained what she was doing at every stage of the scan which really put me at ease. I only saw Mr Lambert so cannot give feed back on any other member of his team. From being referred by someone who knows him well, I was predisposed to like him and respect his expertise, but hadn't expected to find such a a courteous, thoughtful, kind man who engaged with every aspect of me as a patient. Mr Lambert answered all my questions and was patient and understanding. I felt listened to, for the first time since I had my injury.

I am very happy with my total knee replacement. I have no pain and my leg is straight and I am walking perfectly. My leg had a bend before the operation and my walk had a rocking motion which is now gone. The surgeon was excellent and having the aid of the robot for total precision was an amazing advance in this kind of operation. Spire Clare Park is an excellent hospital and I felt very safe and well looked after during my stay.

Seemed like he'd had a long day and it was a box ticking exercise. What another patient is to a doctor is more likely someone who may not be able to work because of injuries. Even a small amount of treating each patient as the first of the day would go a long way. Give 100% or you've been in the job for too long and it's time to diversify. Finally, never shake a man's hand sat down.
