I first contacted Tony Corner for a second opinion, following surgery to fix a proximal humerus fracture of my shoulder. Tony came highly recommended and I found him to be friendly and reassuring. He answered all my questions and explained clearly what could be done to improve my shoulder's mobility. Tony performed an arthroscopic capsular release which was a success and improved my range of motion but the plate which had been fitted elsewhere at the time of the original fracture, was limiting my progress. I was nervous about undergoing further surgery to remove the metalwork but Tony was very positive and reassuring and I decided if anyone was going to do this surgery, I wanted it to be him. Two weeks later, my shoulder feels so much better and the mobility is greatly improved too. I do not have private medical cover but this surgery has made such a difference to me. Thank you, Tony.

I recently had a hysterectomy at this hospital the surgeon was brilliant but during my stay in the hospital I was appalled by how I was treated. Staff were friendly but some of them when I needed them ignored me. A specialist nurse from my consultant had to advocate for me. Upon discharge, one of my stitches had been left in which then went on to cause other issues. I was then chased severally for payment when I had made clear and provided authorisation codes from my insurer. I was not impressed with service from the hospital itself at all. But my consultant was brilliant.

Dr. James Self was absolutely wonderful with my 4-year-old son. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel comfortable and welcomed, which really helped ease my child’s nerves. Dr. Self was incredibly kind, patient, and gentle, and he took the time to explain everything in a way my son could understand. He made the entire eye exam fun and stress-free, which is not always easy with a young child! My son felt relaxed and even excited during the visit. During a recent stay for surgery, everyone with whom I came into contact was very kind and helpful. I felt like I was in very safe hands.

The different tests and mannerly handovers following scans etc. from start to finish of appointment are seamless. And the appointment starts so well being welcomed in at the front desk, through too being checked out so that nothing is forgotten from eye drops to appointment times leaving nothing to chance.

He listened to my concerns and addressed them and tailored his surgery to accommodate what I felt comfortable with - he helped me choose a more appropriate option for the the mortons neuroma. He ultimately did a fantastic job.

i had a letter confirming my appt yet when i arrived i was told i was not on the list and to contact my consultant's secretary. I did that but five mins later the receptionist called me for my appt. there was general lack of coordination and overall confusion and the waiting room was very full. the drinks machines were OOO so overall it was not a customer focussed experience.

I had an online assessment. I was very anxious first of all as i get anxious with the unkown. but was made to feel at ease by my assessor as she explained and broke down bit by bit of the assesment. I also was not rushed which made me more relaxed as I get time anxiety and I felt listened too.
