It's not fair that being an NHS patient meant that we couldnt use the disabled parking, which was empty, right outside the hospital, meaning a much longer and uncomfortable walk. We we greeted well upon arrival and called through almost immediately. Although I found the nurse abrupt and abrasive to start with, I put this down to her working from the computer, checking through info. Perhaps that wasn't her strong point with technology. I have many complex needs, including some communication needs, being ADHD and Autistic. I clearly hadn't understood some of the portal questions and answered them differently to its intended expected responses. Perhaps some more understanding around neurodivergent conditions would be helpful and clarity around the context of their questioning, rather than to feel berated for replying "I fear spiders". The question asked for my fears or what I am scared of, if it was specifically regarding the procedure, it should have been clearer. I was clearly struggling with the bright lights in the office, holding my srm up to shield my eyes from the lighting, even commenting to my daughter who I took with me, my questionnaire replies would have told her I am photophobic, but because of how she initially presented to me, I felt unable to raise my concerns and ask for the lights to be adjusted. (This resulted in triggering a migraine after I left). Im still working on advocating for my own needs. Once the computer work was complete and she faced me to go through expectations of the operation day, she mellowed and warmed, her body language positively changed. This helped reduce my heightened anxiety. She was very good when it came to taking my bloods and I didnt even feel it, for the first time ever. I left feeling far less anxious than I did upon arrival.

had a right knee replacement with Mr. Sam Rajaratnam just over two weeks ago on 3rd November 2025, and what I had feared would be a difficult and painful operation turned out to be completely painless. Sam is extremely kind, patient and reassuring — perfect for someone as nervous as I was. I had delayed doing this surgery for a year and a half and even cancelled the operation twice before finally going through with it! Mr. Rajaratnam has built an outstanding team, including an exceptionally experienced anaesthetist, Dr. Barry Philips; a kind and highly competent nurse consultant, Ms. Christine Howis; and an excellent senior physiotherapist, Felicitas Gatti, who visits me at home to guide my post-operative exercises. I was also extremely impressed by all the medical staff at the Cleveland Clinic hospital, who provided exceptional care throughout my stay. Whilst at the Cleveland, Sam visited me daily, and even came in today after my staples were removed to check on my progress. Mr. Rajaratnam’s expertise is evident—he has performed over 7,000 knee replacements—and the level of care and support I received was extraordinary. I was expecting a significant increase in pain once the stronger medication stopped a week after surgery, but to my surprise, I remained completely pain-free. I am extremely grateful to Sam and his wonderful team. I’ll be back for my other knee as soon as I’m up and running again!

The Joint Injection Clinic

I've seen the Joint Injection doctor twice, had two injections, and both were very helpful. The first visit was after I suffered some tissue injury to an arthritic knee and had some fluid removed and a cortisone injection, which gave me immediate relief and was the catalyst to me returning to exercise. I was having ongoing stiffness in the same joint and returned six months later. After consultation I chose to have a hyaluronic acid injection. This made a big difference to the pain, stiffness and function of my knee and has meant I am able now to properly rebuild strength on that side. Dr Thing is easy to talk to, and I felt he really supported what I am trying to do, which is to stay highly active and delay the point I will need surgery for as long as possible. He is very well informed and explained clearly the pros and cons of various approaches to managing arthritis of the knee. He is also skilled at what he does, the injections are ultrasound guided to ensure correct placement and both injections were painless.

Mr Ofo is an exceptional surgeon with a wonderfully friendly, calm and reassuring manner. I felt completely at ease and in extremely safe hands from the moment I met him, and he explained the procedure clearly and answered all my questions in detail. Six months on from my hemithyroidectomy in April 2025, my scar is incredibly neat and pale. Mr Ofo was recommended to me by an eminent ENT consultant, who described him as "the best ENT surgeon in London". I feel extremely lucky to have been under Mr Ofo's care, and I would also like to thank his PA, Annabel, who was so kind and responsive.

I have been going to this practice for some years now and they have never failed to be genuinely supportive, kind, pragmatic, responsive to my needs. They have given excellent dental care throughout despite me being a blooming awkward patient! Overall I got what I needed which is all that matters ultimately. Found it annoying to have to fill in yet another paper form when I’d registered online as requested via email the day before. Yet another different NHS portal - the third I have had to sign up to. Was also not happy to be asked for a credit card when I was there as a fully insured patient. I was told it was ‘policy’ but when I said I’d rather not it no longer seemed to be policy.

I had a raised spot on my arm which was diagnosed as actinic keratosis- precancerous cells. GP recommend cream but didn’t want to use due to side effects. Dr Gupta was very professional and had a very caring and kind disposition. She used cryotherapy on the area which was only mildly uncomfortable for a few seconds and then checked the rest of my body for me. Thoroughly recommend and have booked my husband for a body check!
