I recently underwent corrective surgery for an umbilical hernia under the care of Ms Vijay Vardhini, and I could not be more impressed or grateful for the experience and outcome. From the very first consultation, Ms Vardhini demonstrated a level of professionalism, clarity, and reassurance that immediately put me at ease. She explained the procedure in a way that was both informative and easy to understand, answered all of my questions patiently, and ensured I felt fully prepared and confident ahead of the operation. The surgery itself was carried out with exceptional precision and care. My recovery has been smooth, the results are excellent, and the level of discomfort was far lower than I ever expected , a true testament to her skill and expertise. Beyond the surgical excellence, what stood out most was her compassionate approach. At every stage from assessment through to aftercare, Ms Vardhini made me feel at ease and comfortable as I was very nervous about having the operation. I would highly recommend Ms Vardhini to anyone seeking hernia repair or surgical care. She is an outstanding surgeon who combines technical excellence with warmth, empathy, and professionalism, a rare and reassuring combination. After seeing one doctor who was very much "your body will get used to it", so glad to find Dr Gibson who was more sympathetic to my symptoms. A few months (and two negative FNA's) later I have now had one session of RFA to shrink some annoying thyroid nodules. Early days, but fingers crossed symptoms will start to go away soon. Dr Gibson throughout has been very good, and has a very calm and nice way about him that puts you at ease when your not sure what to expect. All 3 procedures I have had have been well explained to me and I have been well looked after by him and his team of nurses, everyone very good at checking you are ok thoughtout too. He has also been very understanding and helpful regards my job situation and loss of Bupa cover. In the franticness of the Royal Berks Hospital (not there fault, just very busy!) his calmness helped settle my nerves and it was very much a case of anticipation being well worse than the procedure itself. Fingers crossed the procedure works for me, early days, but would definitly recommend it to anyone ahead of thyroid removal for anyone whos thyroid is working fine. I would recommend him 100%! (Although he was a little mean having a cup of tea with me just before the RFA when I wasnt allowed anything! But I'll let him off that bit)

Arrived early Saturday morning for a small knee operation. Taken to my room by a lovely friendly porter. Was invited immediately by catering to make a choice of food from an excellent menu. Then seen by nurses, anaesthetist, surgeon, who all explained exactly what was going to happen, in a relaxing manner, giving me complete confidence in their care. I was soon taken to theatre by the lovely chatty nurse & porter, that had been with me from my arrival. They obviously had a happy working relationship, including me in their chat to make me feel more relaxed. The anaesthetist was lovely, chatting about Christmas whilst calmly letting me drift into sleep. I woke up feeling well & refreshed, taken back to my room for a cuppa & delicious sandwich. The nurses continued their careful monitoring of me & I was soon seen by the physiotherapist who explained about the importance of my post-exercise sheet & use of crutches. Then a visit by Mr Slack, my amazing surgeon that had previously done my hip replacement, who explained what he’d done, that all had gone well, discharging me to go home & it’s only early afternoon. My painkillers arrive, my home instruction booklet is completed, I can go home. What fantastic care from all the staff & medical team, many thanks to you all.

Receptionist was absolutely lovely and really friendly and helpful. The building and facilities were all excellent and kept clean and tidy. The consultant I saw was extremely rude, arrogant and judgemental. There were several comments he made that shocked me and that made me feel very uncomfortable to the point I almost walked out mid appointment. There was very little sympathy or mindfulness of my injury and he came across extremely judgemental in the assumptions he made about the level of sport I played, what I could afford, and several other things. I actually play semi-professionally and have represented our country in World Championships in the sport I play, and I also have a law degree and accountancy qualification which I did not mention as quite frankly it is irrelevant. It was apparent he took a dislike to me for whatever reason from the start and the whole experience was very uncomfortable. His behaviour aside, he is clearly very knowledgeable and good at what he does. Reading between the lines I got the answer I needed. This hospital was recommended to me by one of your previous patients and I was lucky to get booked in through an NHS referral but after my experience I would never return for any issue and am relieved I didn't pay to go private.

The assessment visit was fine in that I walked away with a clear diagnosis and a plan, but the experience was a little hectic due to cleaners coming in to prepare for the next appointment while we were still there, and the dr needing to take urgent calls as she was on duty at the time. The team I speak with are all very friendly but there seems to be a disconnect between the information exchanged on emails and whatsapp. I feel this may have led to a delay in starting treatment. Again, it's fine because I got it in the end, but there may be some part of the process/line of communication that needs review/improving. My initial virtual visit was at risk of being cancelled due to where I was having the call from. Thankfully, the doctor was able to accommodate another slot on the same day. I noticed that there is now a clear statement on the booking confirmation re: need to be in a private space for virtual calls, which is good.

I was intrigued by the services offered, as they seemed too good to be true. I'm a mid-life woman, starting to worry more about my overall health and wellbeing but didn't want to burden the NHS with curiosity! I really just wanted to have an MOT, to spot any underlying issues or potential health concerns. I was really impressed with the whole set up - state of the art machines, beautiful and clean building - with the most relatable, down-to-earth and professional team of experts. I felt in safe hands, and I had all the advice, tests and support I needed to give me a 12 month clean bill of health but with some advice on how to improve and maintain my health and wellbeing. Truly Exceptional After experiencing pain from my new hospital contact lenses I was able to book an appointment with Drew far sooner than my Hospital would see me. Drew very quickly determined that ill-fitting lenses were causing Conjunctival Prolapse and advised how best to proceed. Essentially the lenses used by my Hospital were not appropriate for my eyes and, since the Hospital will not use alternative lenses, Drew was able to fit and supply better lenses. These new contact lenses give excellent vision and comfort, even though I have a particular eye condition which makes it very difficult to fit contacts, despite lenses being the only solution for me. Thank you Drew and Team!

Was a little confused and concerned with all the last minute changes for surgery, then to be told and left waiting in a room for surgery to then say ur appointment was not the appointment time when u came in on our computer so they did change my appointment time! Other than that surgeon was fantastic brilliant and friendly After Care - as given a bag of meds and a latter and cards for the doctor with no sore dressings for wound area.

Royal mail consistently mess up on deliveries especially on my area, and it's impossible to get through to customers service (which is non-existent really at Royal Mail).
