I had been living with severe osteoarthritis in both hips for years and once I had made the difficult decision to go ahead with surgery I became extremely concerned about the risk of hip dislocation after surgery, because I have very loose connective tissue. That’s why I specifically asked for the anterior approach hip replacement, which is well known for offering less risk of dislocation, less pain, and quicker recovery. I was referred to Mr. Emeka Oragui, and from the very first consultation I had a very good feeling about him. There was a sense of humility that gave me confidence in his capabilities. For me, it was an overwhelming decision to have the OP, to trust someone with my body and my future, but I felt I could surrender to the process, knowing I was in the care of a skilled and thoughtful orthopaedic surgeon. The results were far beyond my expectations. The next day I was walking short distances indoors, just four days I was walking short distances outside with crutches, and by the fifth day I no longer needed painkillers. An additional benefit was the “Bikini” anterior approach incision, where the scar is hidden in the crease of the leg and is already fading to the point of being almost invisible. After the OP Mr. Oragui told me I had full range of motion and encouraged me to move as I felt able, letting pain be my guide. Now, at 24 and 9 weeks post-op on each hip, I have regained about 90% of my pre-arthritis range of motion in the first hip, and the second hip is progressing nicely. A couple of months before surgery, I was diagnosed with osteoporosis. This meant the prosthetic stem had to be cemented to reduce the risk of fracture during the operation. I was deeply worried that this would limit my mobility, but to my relief, I have not noticed any restriction at all. I feel someone was looking out for me when I was referred to Mr. Oragui. Words cannot express the gratitude I feel that he was sent my way. His 20+ years of experience with the anterior hip replacement approach has given me freedom of movement, confidence in my hips, and after 14 years I am able to walk without pain.

Last year I had the cataract in my right eye removed in Moorfields Private Eye Clinic. The consultant, Mr Vincenzo Maurino, was calm, professional and very kind. He immediately put me at ease. I felt strongly I could place complete trust in his care. Everything was explained clearly, and the whole process was handled with such skill and reassurance. A few months ago, when my optician told me that I needed the cataract removed in my left eye, I didn’t have any hesitation and booked an appointment with Mr Maurino at Moorfields. Once again, the care and professionalism were outstanding. Everyone on the staff was so good and helpful. The nurses were very kind, efficient and thoughtful. They even offered tea and biscuits afterwards (perhaps the best biscuits I’ve ever had)! Very soon after the surgery, my vision has improved so much that the world has become clearer. I am very grateful for the wonderful treatment I received.

Very professional friendly and explained everything. Was not a 5 min extraction as he had to cut out my deep roots and my rear root was holding on. Afterwards he was scraping cleaning bone cavitations for a long time before cleaning and using ozone to sterilise the debrided socket. Applying PRF, membrane and bone graft was quick. Unfortunately I'm not sure it has got all the infection though as today Saturday it's been getting worse and I smell the fecal smell from gum.. I will be calling 111 to ask for dental antibiotics if it gets worse. Dr Pitamber and his team were great, but I fear my failed root canal has festered undiscovered far too long. Root canals are not a good idea. My root cracked and festered for years making me ill. At least I'm feeling better energy wise, if still in pain. Hopefully my body will overcome the residual infection.

Car parking can be a problem. There are some local side streets with the odd space or Sainsbury is about a 20 minute walk, think you get about 3 hours. I had my operation on a Saturday and the place seemed very quiet and peaceful, one member of staff said it's more chaotic in the week. Parking was easy at 7.30am on Saturday but I had been dropped off anyway. There are buses that stop nearby from Macclesfield bus station but I haven't tried them. It's lovely to have your own room, particularly if you're a very sensitive person. The staff on the whole treat you with respect.

Now I look at the cost as very little in comparison to the fantastic results I have had! very kind manner and was informative about my surgery , he completely reassured me and I felt very confident in Mr Kim, I had a total knee replacement and with no complications or issues i was walking after 5 weeks without my crutches the wound has healed quickly and the scar is fading my range of movement is getting better as time goes by and I don't have the pain I had with my worn out knee , I would definitely go back to Mr Kim if I required any surgery on my hips or remaining natural knee.

The spire Elland was a lovely, clean hosptial. My room had recently been renovated, which meant it felt clean and comfortable. The staff were all nice, regularly bringing me hot drinks and heat packs for my symptoms. A particular shoutout to the team conducting my anaesthetic, I was quite overwhelmed/concerned and they really supported me and put me at ease. I would definitely consider spire elland again for my treatment.

I attended the Centre to have a procedure to remove a cataract. The staff were so friendly and efficient,I was immediately put at ease. The procedure was carried out and I was taken to the recovery room to have a cup of tea ,followed by an explanation of use of eye drops. The receptionist also contacted my nephew who was coming to collect me. I had a follow-up call the next day. Thank you to everyone who looked after me.
