I had done lot of research prior to my initial consultation, upon meeting Mr Hoo, I knew that Mr Hoo would be my surgeon of choice. Mr Hoo answered all of my questions, showed me before and after photos of previous surgeries and I felt reassured with my decision. I meet with Pauline (Mr Hoo’s nurse) who answered any further questions and discussed post operative restrictions etc with me. On the morning of the surgery, I met with Mr Hoo to answer any questions and complete markings. I was not nervous at all as I felt in very safe hands. Mr Hoo’s professionalism and caring nature was evident from the onset which I feel contributed to my calmness pre theatre. Mr Hoo came to see me post surgery and to answer any further questions. From my initial meeting I knew that I would be in safe hands, I would highly recommend Mr Hoo.

The thought of Cataract Surgery was for me a daunting prospect…so I undertook some research and this led me to John’s website which I found informative and reassuring. I was surprised to learn of the range of interocular lenses available which gave me cause to consider the outcome I wanted - in my case to be glasses free. I settled on the Rayner RayOne Galaxy IOL and confirmed this choice during my pre-op examination with John. The surgery (bilateral) was pain free with both eyes completed within an hour. The result was spectacular! … excellent close up vision for reading and distance vision significantly better than 20/20. All in all an extremely successful procedure with precisely the outcome I had sought. I have no hesitation in recommending John and the excellent team at Tetbury Hospital.

I had a video consultation with Dr Kallis. In the previous months I had a abdominal ultrasound scan and a CT abdomen and pelvis dual phase scan which appeared to show conflicting results. Dr Kallis explained the purpose and limitations of such scans as the reason for such conflicts, which I found understandable and reassuring. He also outlined the appropriate tests to take to clarify any remaining issues. Dr Kallis was patient and clear in responding to any questions I had. The organisation of the video consultation was very efficiently handled by his Medical Secretary. I would certainly recommend Dr Kallis

Daniel was with us from early on in the pregnancy. He was patient with our questions, taking all concerns seriously and providing informed views (even going to do further research when we had a very specific niche question). When it came time for the birth, there were some complications- Daniel acted very quickly to ensure the least amount of intervention and to get my baby out safely. The 2 and half hour waiting time for a 5-minute test was severely dissatisfying. The endoscope tube was much too thick, thicker than it is necessary perhaps. Nowadays the medical technology is much advanced and I truly believe a thinner tube can do the job sufficiently as well as improving patient comfort.
