The hospital was very clean, staff were very friendly and helpful. The procedure staff were particularly nice and professional. I was very happy with the procedure and the level of professionalism and also good bedside manner. One/two areas which could be improved if you are interested : 1. Pre-procedure information suggested an overall time from entry to release of approx 2hrs. With a 6pm admission time, I assumed I could arrange a collection for 8.30pm with some time to spare. However, on arrival, after approx 1hr 15mins it became apparent that the admission time of 6pm was a general time for 3 patients to be admitted and seen that evening between 6-9pm. I happened to be patient no.2, so was seen around 7.30 and released around 9, meaning I could not use the lift arranged (my wife &kids were ok til then, but not after). This then presented me with a choice of either taxi home or to ask someone at short notice to come and collect me. Had I known the range of procedure/release times in advance, I would have arranged a different, more appropriate, lift from the start. This leads to point no.2 2. I was not made aware of the choice on whether to have sedative or not. The literature states "you will be given a sedative" not that you have a choice. After the delay above, this then created a difficulty whereby if I took the sedative, I could not legally be released to an unknown taxi driver and would have to arrange another lift at short notice or not take the sedative. I opted to not take the sedative. Had I known this option was there, I could have driven myself to and from the appointment. It also would have saved my wife and kids spending time in the car on a busy evening. In connection with this, during the appointment, it sounded like release/recovery after the sedative was likely to be several hours, so release before 10-11pm was unlikely from the start and it was always probably going to be later if I took the sedative. Please don't take the above as criticism, just highlighting that making the choice on sedative clear would have allowed me to more easily plan both my transport. Also providing a bit more detail on the admission/procedure time range and release time range would have allowed me to more easily arrange appropriate transport. Basically, more information would have made things a bit easier is all

I had an open rhinoplasty with Duncan over the summer and would absolutely recommend him to someone considering the same procedure. I had been considering a rhinoplasty for a few years because of the slight droop in my nose that I've always disliked, but was also slightly terrified of picking the wrong surgeon, or it going wrong. So I must have looked through dozens of surgeons online, and spoke with a handful in person before deciding on Duncan. The pictures of his work always stood out to me because the results always looked so natural, and I knew I didn't want a copy-and-paste nose that I saw so frequently on Instagram. He was very realistic about what was achievable and really listened to what I wanted (a conservative rhinoplasty that wouldn't be hugely noticeable to anyone but me). I was really pleased with the result when I got my cast off at one week, but even more so four months down the line as the minor swelling has subsided. I can see a huge difference, especially to my side profile, but no one else has noticed I've had anything done. The droop has gone and in its place is a ever-so-slightly upturned tip that I'm thrilled with. It's already made me feel so much more confident when I have my photo taken. The slight bend in my nose has also been straightened which has improved my breathing during yoga classes. The recovery was very gentle - I was expecting so much worse. I had one night where learning to sleep in an upright position was a bit awkward, but there was very little pain and minimal bruising throughout the whole thing.

The initial consultation was an evening appointment and I considered it to be expensive. The consultants fee (Dr Kadhim) was £250 (equating to £1000 per hour) Administration fee £35 (for what) and an e.c.g which took all of 5 minutes was £111. Total £396. I was promised by the consultant that Cardioversion would happen before my holiday in mid December but received excuses from admin staff why this could not happen. I kept pestering and eventually received notice at 3.00pm the day before that Cardioversion would occur at 07.30 the following morning. The actual Cardioversion went without hitch, the consultant Dr Menown and his staff were excellent, facilities were good, food was ample and all went well. So do not take no for an answer.

To charge the same fee as that charged for a face to face is not defendable or reflective of the standards of integrity I expect from practitioners of this level. The letter that follows simply restates the facts that do not merit a charge of£450 for 27 minutes. The next steps then advocated are those which could be asked for without this money harvesting exercise. I found it insulting.

I saw a private GP a couple of hours after phoning for an appointment, as I couldn’t get an appointment to see my regular GP. She has a lovely bedside manner and did a thorough check-up. I was very happy, as I always am, with the service at Centennial Medical Centre. The pharmacy on-site is excellent and very handy.

There was a delay in my appointments... taking 3 months from being referred and filling out relevant paperwork. After initial diagnostic appointment it took 4 months to actually get my diagnosis. Apparently there was a back log. But overall much quicker than NHS and very happy with the experience.
