During my recent experience at Cleveland Clinic London, I was under the care of Professor James Teo and Dr. Dipesh Patel for my diagnosis of myelitis. I’d like to share a review of the care, diagnosis, and treatment I received during my short inpatient stay and subsequent outpatient follow-up. Diagnosis: The professionalism and expertise of both Professor Teo and Dr. Patel were evident. They took the time to thoroughly review my medical history, listen attentively to my symptoms, and conduct a series of comprehensive tests. The diagnostic process was meticulous, involving advanced imaging and laboratory analyses, all explained clearly, which left me feeling confident about my care. I was admitted as an inpatient for a couple of days, and my stay was exceptionally comfortable and reassuring. The modern hospital environment and top-notch facilities contributed to a positive experience. The nursing staff was attentive and highly trained, providing outstanding care around the clock. I appreciated their responsiveness to my needs, ensuring I felt comfortable during my brief stay. Daily visits from Professor Teo and Dr. Patel allowed me to discuss my progress and any concerns I had, reinforcing my sense of being valued and cared for. Following my inpatient stay I transitioned smoothly into outpatient care. My follow-up appointments have been invaluable, with thorough evaluations of my ongoing recovery. The clinic’s proactive communication, including test results, appointment reminders and prompt responses to my queries, has greatly supported my journey. They also provided me with educational resources to help manage my condition effectively. In conclusion, my experience at Cleveland Clinic London, particularly under the care of Professor Teo and Dr. Patel, has been exemplary. Their dedication to providing personalized and compassionate care, paired with their expertise, has made a significant difference in my ongoing recovery journey. Mr Brew came in to see me on the morning of surgery. I also saw him briefly in the anti room before going into theatre, and then again in my room, post surgery. He said all had gone well and that he would pop in to see me the following day. The physio came to see me several times the next day, so I was up and about with the physio and using the walking aid. Mr Brew popped in again early evening to see how I was, and said he would come and see me the following day. My physio came the next morning and we had more intensive exercises throughout the day. By late afternoon, I was doing well with the exercises and the physio said she was more than happy to discharge me if I would like to go home. So I didn’t see Mr Brew again until Friday this week, when he confirmed that he was happy with the way my knee was looking, then we looked at the X-rays with him and everything looked good. In actual fact, I was just recovering from a migraine on the day of my appointment, and wasn’t confident in asking the questions I had written down. My fault of course, but it is my intention to phone Mr Brews secretary and ask her if she would be kind enough to ask them on my behalf, and let me know the answers. He did say he would arrange to see me again at the end of the year.

I had a very good experience with Visio Health when I had recent laser treatment following cataract surgery on both eyes with Ms Sandhu. The cataract surgery, which took place in hospital in July and October, has been very successful. I no longer need glasses after having vision corrective lenses. And I hadn’t realised quite how blurred and sepia my sight had become. My vision is now very clear and bright. It really has positively impacted my life. Everything looks like it did back when I was young. It’s so much more cheerful than that blurry, yellow sight that I had grown so used to. And I am so much more confident when driving. No more night glare. I was really apprehensive and anxious about cataract surgery. So much so that it was decided that I would have the procedure under general anaesthetic. But I can honestly say that despite all the worry the end result is better than I could have imagined. The laser treatment at Visio to improve my sight further with one session of laser treatment was totally painless, very straightforward and uncomplicated. The clinic was very well organised and the staff were all lovely. A very good experience.

After enduring increasing pain in my left knee over a period of 15+ months with associated sleep deprivation I consulted Mr Winston Kim, who, after investigation, confirmed that the issue was more than likely with my badly arthritic left hip, which could impact the knee with resultant pain. I consequently had a full left hip replacement carried out by Mr Kim at the beginning of August. The pre and post operative process was very well organised and the surgery was undertaken extremely professionally. Mr Kim was very empathetic and understanding, explaining what would happen during and after surgery. He rang my family as soon as I was in recovery to reassure them that all had gone well. I was encouraged to stand up out of bed in the evening following surgery and was discharged with very little pain after only two nights in hospital. Five months after surgery, with support from the physiotherapy team, I am now able to walk without any mobility aids. I am extremely grateful to Mr Kim for resolving my issue and for his reassurance and guidance during post operative reviews. I would highly recommend Mr Kim and his team.

I had an initial consultation for varicose vein treatment (following a flyer in the post) and following further investigations/diagnosis I went ahead and had an operation. The whole experience from beginning to end was first class. Everything was fully explained to me and all my questions were answered before deciding on the most appropriate treatment. The operation (under local anaesthetic) went well with a nurse talking to me all the time and explaining everything which was happening as as well as distracting me! My recovery went as planned - and as explained - and a follow up visit to see the consultant was very reassuring. All in all I was very pleased with everything and would not hesitate in recommending Shepton Mallet Hospital.

I had an online ADHD assessment with Bernhard Kelley-Patterson. Bernhard was very friendly and professional, I felt at ease throughout the appointment and would happily talk with him again. So far my experience with Skylight has been very positive, the wait times between communication emails are generally 3-5 days and it took approximately 8 weeks to get my first appointment after the registering my interest. Considering the NHS waiting list for an ADHD assessment is 4 years, I’d say that pretty damn good. I would highly recommend opting for Skylight through the ‘Right to Choose’ pathway via the NHS. Main reception lovely and consultant was great. Imaging receptionist was blunt and frankly dismissive. Now paying invoice for consultation the original price was quoted on phone I found it’s £20 more which isn’t much but when you are self funding every £20 counts! When I complained I was directed to the fees as outlined on my original appointment letter which state it would not exceed £150 which it obviously doesn't but it wasn’t explained that the figure quoted on phone was only an estimate. Pricing should be communicated more clearly for those who don’t have insurance. So far, apart from consultant, a disappointment.

I had a breast reduction and uplift with Parkash Lohana in December 2025 and I am delighted with the results. All the staff here are so kind and friendly. Special shout out to Roslyn for how well she looked after me (and my very anxious mum!) on the day, Bernadette, Lisa, but everyone has been amazing. I'm still healing and had to come in for a same day appointment to have something checked and Belinda totally put me at ease and gave me really clear information. Honestly couldn't fault a single element of my experience!

I went to Dr Al Chalabi for a fistula which I had been living with for several years and he operated on, performing a lay open procedure. He explained everything incredibly well beforehand and put my mind completely at ease. After surgery I was almost pain free and in way less pain than expected. I had forgotten that I had an appointment today; however, Dr. Milan called to remind me about it and to conduct the consultation, which was supposed to be face-to-face, via phone. Afterward, I inquired if I could still attend in person, and he graciously permitted me to do so. This demonstrates excellent practice, as many consultants might not have allowed me the same opportunity.

The waiting area is quiet and spacious. The reception and admin staff are friendly. The nurses/technicians similarly genuinely interested in you and remember your last visit. Dr Smith also knows his patients, is thorough in his assessment and forward treatment plan and open to questions. Follow up administration is prompt. After a visit I know I have properly been examined.
