The hospital was very clean, staff were very friendly and helpful. The procedure staff were particularly nice and professional. I was very happy with the procedure and the level of professionalism and also good bedside manner. One/two areas which could be improved if you are interested : 1. Pre-procedure information suggested an overall time from entry to release of approx 2hrs. With a 6pm admission time, I assumed I could arrange a collection for 8.30pm with some time to spare. However, on arrival, after approx 1hr 15mins it became apparent that the admission time of 6pm was a general time for 3 patients to be admitted and seen that evening between 6-9pm. I happened to be patient no.2, so was seen around 7.30 and released around 9, meaning I could not use the lift arranged (my wife &kids were ok til then, but not after). This then presented me with a choice of either taxi home or to ask someone at short notice to come and collect me. Had I known the range of procedure/release times in advance, I would have arranged a different, more appropriate, lift from the start. This leads to point no.2 2. I was not made aware of the choice on whether to have sedative or not. The literature states "you will be given a sedative" not that you have a choice. After the delay above, this then created a difficulty whereby if I took the sedative, I could not legally be released to an unknown taxi driver and would have to arrange another lift at short notice or not take the sedative. I opted to not take the sedative. Had I known this option was there, I could have driven myself to and from the appointment. It also would have saved my wife and kids spending time in the car on a busy evening. In connection with this, during the appointment, it sounded like release/recovery after the sedative was likely to be several hours, so release before 10-11pm was unlikely from the start and it was always probably going to be later if I took the sedative. Please don't take the above as criticism, just highlighting that making the choice on sedative clear would have allowed me to more easily plan both my transport. Also providing a bit more detail on the admission/procedure time range and release time range would have allowed me to more easily arrange appropriate transport. Basically, more information would have made things a bit easier is all

Perhaps for the first time in my life, I'm beginning to meet myself, and learning to accept myself for who I am. The transition to Mourne Private Clinic has been seamless. The staff are warm, organised and professional, creating an environment that supports the therapeutic work beautifully. I would highly recommend Dr. Urquhart and the clinic to anyone seeking thoughtful, skilled and compassionate care. And, finally, there is no shame in therapy. On the outside I look like anyone else, living a seemingly ordinary life, but reaching out for support has been one of the most life-changing decisions I have ever made.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Honestly blown away by this service I’m nearly 80 now, and I can’t even count how many doctor visits I’ve had in my life, but MyDoctor by Northern Health honestly left me a bit blown away. I wasn’t expecting much — you get used to being rushed through at my age — but I came off the call feeling like someone had finally taken the time to actually explain my own health to me. It felt different from the moment it started. No rushing, no talking over me, no making me feel like I was being dramatic. Just calm, proper care. I felt listened to in a way I haven’t in years. I actually felt like… well, like a person again, not someone they’re trying to hurry out the door. For the first time I understand what’s been setting things off, and what I need to do next time before it all gets too much. That alone is worth gold to me. I’ve been muddling along for years without this clarity. I’m honestly amazed. At my age you don’t expect to be surprised by much anymore, but this really did it. I’ll absolutely be using MyDoctor again — I wish I’d found it sooner.

Annette is not only a lovely, personable professional, she is also a highly skilled gynaecological surgeon. Seeing Annette has truly transformed my life. When I first had the pleasure of meeting her, she could tell I desperately needed HRT due to my symptoms & family history. She referred me to an HRT specialist consultant & my body wasn’t dealing very well with the bio identical progesterone, so I was referred back to Annette to have a Minera coil fitted by herself at Mount Alvernia hospital. The whole team were absolutely fantastic. Annette completely put me at ease with her warm, friendly charm & explained everything to me in great detail. The anaesthetist.was also lovely as were the whole team which made me feel welcome & valued. I’m delighted to say everything went smoothly & my recovery was comfortable & quick. If you’re looking for a gynaecologist for whatever reason, I could not recommend Annette & her team highly enough.

Some unfortunate circumstances meant I had to change surgeons a few weeks before my surgery was booked in. This was quite unsettling and it took me a few times of meeting Dr Agha to feel comfortable. What I realise now is that whilst I was initially put off by his questioning I now realise that this was part of his thorough approach to his work and part of ensuring that I was provided with all the information. Taking so much time to explain the procedure, this risks and uncertainties and asking questions was part of a transparent approach which allowed trust building. Dr Agha changed the plan I had with my original surgeon (fleur de lis) to an extended tummy tuck and I am so happy he did. I am thrilled with the results. My scar is very thin, well placed and I had a very smooth recovery process. I would recommend Dr Agha to anyone wanting a transparent, realistic and honest surgeon who wants the best results achievable for his patients.

Recent visit was ok. My Nurses could have been better organised. On arrival no one was there to greet me despite being told to be there at 7.30 am I wasn’t told no one could come up and wait with you or be present after my procedure. The room for pre theatre and after theatre was far too small for 3 beds to be in it. It was also flat too hot in the room making me feel worse.. Unprepared for someone feeling unwell after the procedure. I did feel very rushed after my procedure despite feeling unwell! The doctor on shift however was very good. Nurses rushing to finish their shift in theatre to hand me over made me feel uneasy. Nurse looking after me rushing me out the door as it was past 8pm. I was worried about leaving as still felt pretty unwel. Overall was not tailored to my needs Surgeon & anaesthetist very good can’t fault them at all. Made me feel very at ease before my procedure.

Ms Shikha did my surgery for full hysterectomy. It all went very well my recovery wasn’t that smooth after but soon after I got better with the help of shika and team constantly checking in on me and me being able to reach out. At a very stressful time. I haven’t really got words that praise shika enough. Her efforts for diognoses and the care since have been priceless. Already (and only a little after a week) I am seeing life changing results , having suffered 27 years day in day out. If I hadnt have gone that day for my consultation we would still be in the hellish life limbo dead end… thanks Shika my life ahead is looking brighter and the care and support from her is overwhelming. He made me feel incredibly confident I was in the right hands with him, both from seeing the results of his work and him being clear he’s a real perfectionist but also because he’s very upfront about realistic results, what is possible, recovery time etc. The whole process from start to finish with him has been a great experience. He’s made it clear he’s only a phone call or message away if any problems arise now I’ve been signed off. She is always keen to involve my family and ensure I am fully supported. She has helped me navigate several gynaecology conditions that I have recently been investigated for and diagnosed with. She continues to follow up with me and ensure I am well looked after. She looks at me from head to toe and listens to each of my concerns, no matter what they are, with compassion. She is a true angel who I was blessed with to have as my doctor. I will always sing her praises she is truly phenomenal. I am beyond lucky to have her looking after me. She is my inspiration for when I graduate and become a doctor.

I reached out to TCM after I was told that I had a very low AMH and AFC and that I would likely go through early menopause. This caused me a lot of stress as I had always had regular periods and had never considered that I may have fertility troubles. Prof Au talked me through my results and educated me on AMH as a poor predictor for menopause. He advised me that I would need further bloods to fully assess my fertility and I was able to request them from my GP. Following this he reviewed my bloods with me again, without charge, and advised me that everything was normal and I did not need to be seen at TCM. I am very grateful for all the help, support and education. Thank you!
