Mr Michael M Sabetai

In December, Mr Sabetai carried out complex surgery to replace my Ascending Aorta and Aortic Arch. From my initial consultation to my follow up appointment, Mr Sabetai was extremely professional, explaining everything clearly and patiently. His manner was very reassuring throughout which gave me confidence and reduced my anxiety. I very much appreciated his daily visits whilst in hospital and I am extremely grateful to him and his team for the success of my surgery.

My surgery process was very professional and thorough . I had some post op bleeding but that was corrected before I even k ew about it . My time in ICU was tougher than I had expected . I think I would have benefitted from more advance information about what would be involved . Sleeping was especially difficult. My main problem was with the food - the standard menu was not very appealing to me but after a couple of days the chef came to see me and I discovered that I could ask for things off menu - this was very impressive and a great improvement . All of the nurses were wonderful and Michael was brilliant .

Mr Sabatei always had time for me at any stage of the process either at the pre or post op consultations. He brings calm and empathy which is very important when confronting such an operation. During my time at London Bridge Hospital for the Op he visited me more or less every day while I was there to see how I was, even in ICU which was very nice and appreciated. A triple by pass is a major operation and difficult experience but I always felt that I could fully trust Mr Sabatei and the team behind him. I am happy to say that I am now 1 year post op and back cycling with my club. I am very indebted to Mr Sabatei and cannot thank him enough. I would of course recommend him to anybody needing such an operation.

Dr. Sabetai’s impressive CV is clearly matched by a deep, practical experience and a genuine commitment to his patients as people. I am deeply grateful for his skill and dedication.

His manner was reassuring and exuded a confidence throughout, from explaining the procedure I was about to experience, being a triple heart bypass which resulted in being a quadruple, the daily visits following the procedure to explain how it had all gone and checking on my wellbeing and monitoring my recovery, to the final consultation to confirm the success of the procedure and that all was well.
