My experience at GenesisCare Surrey was amazing. I chose to have private MRLinac radiotherapy for my prostate cancer in order that my treatment would have the minimum impact on my life and I was not disappointed. I was given an initial appointment within a week of getting approval from my health insurance. As my partner and I were travelling from some distance and staying in Guildford during the 11 days it took for my five treatments, the radiographers were very flexible in arranging the dates to suit us. GenesisCare offered to pay taxi fares for us to travel each time, but as the distance was too far we chose to stay and were amazed when they offered to contribute to our hotel bills, The building was modern and purpose built and the reception area was pleasant, bright and the staff friendly with tea, coffee and snacks on tap. Parking was easy and right outside. The MRLinac suite was similarly well done and the radiographers were friendly, helpful and keen to make things as easy as possible. It was nice to be taken into the control room to meet the team rather than them being shut away behind the glass. All of my treatments started on time and the last two appointments were rearranged so we could leave a day early. The whole experience felt more relaxing than attending a normal medical establishment, in fact more like being at a high-tech research institute. There was a follow-up call from a radiographer after we had been at home for a week to check how I was doing. The MRLinac treatment gave me very little in terms of side effects during the treatment or afterwards and meant we able to explore Guildford and the surrounding area when I wasn't having treatment. The whole experience was much preferable to the standard radiotherapy which would have involved 20 treatments over 4 weeks with months of hormone treatment. I felt confident that the use of MRI scans during treatment ensured the radiotherapy was precisely targeted to give the best results and to limit any damage to other organs. It did require me to lie in the machine for 25-40 mins and to ensure my bowels were empty and my bladder was half full at the time which was a bit tricky. The radiographers were very patient in giving me advice and support to help me achieve this although some more advice at the beginning would have been useful. If you have the option to have treatment at GenesisCare then I can thoroughly recommend it.

Having already had my right hip successfully replaced by the NHS, when my left hip began to be seriously debilitating and painful I was told that there would be a considerable wait for the operation. Therefore I turned to the private sector. Mr Dehne had excellent reviews and impressive qualifications, so I choose the Practice Plus group Hospital Birmingham where he works. I was well looked after by the team at the hospital, the private room and on suite was very comfortable and clean. My operation went well, first day recovery was difficult due to my very low blood pressure. However this was carefully managed and subsequent recovery was slightly quicker than my previous hip replacement. Now ten weeks after surgery the hip feels strong, pain free and I am able to return to an active life style. It wasn’t straightforward because I had previously had laser eye surgery and an infection on one of my eyes that left a scar, so Rohit and his team had a challenging task having to work with that and having to do the refractive procedure ! Not only did he and his team fit me in promptly , the whole experience was stress free and I felt relaxed and comfortable throughout , they did everything they could to help! Came across Southside Medical on FB ....my own GP practice has no online appointments for all of November and December. I had mine booked and completed in just a few hours. Doctor took time to understand what was up (sciatica) and what he could do to help. Did a complete check to make sure it was sciatica and not something else and gave me advice should my symptoms change. Then after a discussion he arranged for me to get some medication which is certainly helping with my sleep. Can't fault the timeliness and the expertise of the doctor. Very warm and empathetic and can't recommend highly enough.

I was very apprehensive about getting both of my eyes done at the same time. I cant believe how easy and painless it was ,all of the staff were amazing in looking after me and putting me at ease. Having 24 hr support was amazing ,my concerns were addressed quickly . If only everything was as easy as this ,within 3 days i could see perfectly ,i never realised how much of a difference it would make . From my consultant ,nursing staff, opthamologists, domestic staff and receptionist they went above and beyond in their care. Nothing was too much bother. Dont hesitate to go ,you will be amazed .

I have received a Pacemaker and undergone an AV node ablation. Dr Srinivasan made the whole thing understandable and almost anxiety free. It was amazing to watch Dr Srinivasan and his team working together like a well oiled machine when the Pacemaker procedure took place. As a result, I am always happy to put friends and acquaintances at ease when they are facing such procedures after my excellent experience. Dr Srinivasan is a caring doctor, and this shows in his interactions with his patients. I am grateful to him for his care and attention.

Very useful. As I was anxious ,having driven from Worthing I did forget to ask Mr Anderberg about alternative medicines to relieve pain. I am taking curcumen, CBD, and have ordered chilli pepper cream . In the hope these products will help relieve pain. Also I missed completing the registration form sent with your initial letter . I am not IT ‘savie” and struggle with my I Phone and I Pad on occasions when I do not understand instructions . I had a consultation and mould made and the experience was very straightforward. I went back after 6 weeks and had my actual chrome guard fitted. It has transformed my sleep and I don’t wake up groggy anymore or snore as loudly as I did. It took a while to get used to but am very happy with it. I’ve been back to the practice to have it tightened and adjusted and they did it without charge and very quickly. Thoroughly recommend anyone with sleeping disorders to try it.

The Spire has excellent facilities (car parking, waiting area, consulting rooms etc) and the reception staff are very attentive and helpful. The “formal check in” using an iPad is an unnecessary hurdle for patients to negotiate. The earlier system of just checking in with the receptionist was much better. My appointment with Dr. Balerdi was on time and a very useful session. Re. Dr. Balerdi himself, my very postive comments are in an earlier section.

Highly recommend the advice and treatment provided by Miss Thompson. As a runner I was suffering from persistent ankle pain for which rest and physio made no difference. Miss Thompson recommended an ankle arthroscopy at which she found scar tissue and was able to surgically remove on the day. Always sceptical if surgery is the right option however a correct diagnosis and skilful treatment has seen a huge improvement

Mr Tadtayev explained clearly and carefully the outcomes from my histological report, and my progress in recovery from surgery. He also explained clearly the next actions for dealing with my leiomyosarcoma and the plan for addressing my kidney disease. Throughout the appointment Mr Tadtayev answered my questions and addressed my concerns clearly and with a great amount of tact and realism.
