I had two excellent experiences at the Cleveland yesterday. First Norman did the most thorough and careful echocardiogram. He took endless trouble so as to give the cardiologist views of my heart and its valves from every angle and perspective. The cardiologist was most impressed and helped by all the additional information this gave him. Dr Sam Dawkins, my cardiologist told me and showed me by using these images how well the TAVI and the reduction of the septum are working as they have not only hugely improved flow through my aortic valve but also through my mitral valve. Dr Dawkins is a brilliant cardiologist and an amazing thinker. I was faced with open heart surgery to replace two valves and excision of thickened areas of heart muscle; a very risky operation with a long and maybe unsuccessful period of recovery. Dr Dawkins devised the novel procedures he carried out on me on 24/10/24. The success of this is totally down to his skill and the trouble he took. He was excellently supported by the doctors and staff of the Cleveland during the operation. I hope he is able to share the knowledge of my operation with other cardiologists so more patients can avoid open heart surgery and be given back their health the way I was. Thank you Dr Dawkins

Professor Plaha is an incredibly rare human being. Within 24 hours of my MRI scan being sent to him, he took responsibility for my care. The subsequent week, he met with me and guided me through my condition with a clear prognosis and a plan for treatment. He referred me onwards to other neurologists who were able to adapt my medication accordingly to ensure pre-operative stability. Along with his expert team, he operated to resect my tumour in a highly sensitive location with precision and success. He followed up after surgery with histology results and I have recently met with him at GenesisCare in Oxford, which promptly took place after my 3 month post operative MRI scan. In clinic, and as always - he exuded true warmth, humility, professionalism and integrity. He is a true specialist in his field and I am gracious to be under his care. Where anyone is looking for a true expert in his field in difficult and challenging circumstances, you must go no further.

Dr James Thing is a miracle worker—I am now walking almost completely normally for the first time in almost a year. I had a Baker's Cyst which he drained and injected. I had limped into his office, barely able to walk and I (almost) skipped out. He did a scan on my foot but wouldn't do an injection until I had an MRI. This is good medicine as he wanted to be sure he was injecting in exactly the right place, and indeed, he wanted to make sure an injection was the right thing to do (which it was). The foot is so much better. I am back to walking my normal 4 ½ -5 mile routes without much difficulty. Dr James Thing is a brilliant doctor! What I like is that you go in, he does an ultrasound to make a diagnosis, and if appropriate, he carries out the procedure there and then. No waiting for additional appointments at additional costs. Treatment and relief are immediate. That is amazing to find in this day and age.

I saw Mr Lim today in a follow up appointment. I came out very happy and satisfied with the consultation. Mr Lim has excellent bedside manners which make a patient feel at ease and encouraged to ask any relevant questions about the condition. He is also a very humble consultant who is caring and supportive. I felt very confident in him as a knowledgeable consultant making me feel assured that he gave me the best advice in a timely fashion. His encouragement to me as I followed his instructions to the letter resulted in a good outcome so that I now can progress with other medical issues such as a knee replacement which was delayed due to the vascular issues now means that I can get on with my life. Mr Lim was very thorough in his investigation of my condition leaving no stone unturned to get to the bottom of the matter and see to it that it is resolved satisfactorily. I confidently recommend him to others.

Dr Deepak Parasuraman made both my daughter and me feel welcome from the moment we arrived. We were attending for a children’s ADHD assessment, and I was very anxious as my daughter is excellent at masking her symptoms. Before the assessment even began, Dr Parasuraman took time to build rapport with her — making her laugh and helping her feel comfortable — which allowed her to be her true, confident self. He is clearly very knowledgeable and experienced. The room felt like an open, safe space to talk, and he explained everything clearly while thoughtfully observing my daughter. Dr Parasuraman was professional, understanding, and genuinely empathetic throughout. I highly recommend MUMS for this service, particularly with Dr Deepak Parasuraman, and will be recommending them to anyone who needs similar support. What stood out most was his attention to detail and genuine care. I never felt rushed, and the consultation felt very thoughtful and patient-focused. I was going to e mail anyway to pass on my thanks so it’s nice to be able to leave a review. How lovely all the staff were that I met on NY eve. Dr Aziz was amazing! What a kind, considerate, empathetic and professional individual. I felt really unwell that day and concerned about some test results. She was so thorough, talked everything through with me in such a kind and understanding way. I left feeling so reassured. I want to thank the two lovely ladies on reception for helping with a couple of issues, a lovely lady who advised about which tests/appointments to approach first and another lovely lady who took my blood tests. I am sorry I did not get any names. But I want to say a huge thank you to all five individuals I met that day. You really helped me so very much. Five star rating all round from me! I am so thrilled with my experience at Weymouth Street Hospital, London, after having had cataracts removed in both of my eyes, by Mr Hove of Blue Fin Vision. I can see clearly now, both distance and close up, reading, computer etc, etc.. ; no need for any glasses. Mr Hove is truly amazing - so caring, kind and professional. He explained everything to me in my assessment on Monday 8th December, in Chelmsford and actually had the operation in such a short time - Thursday 11th December! I am a new person now ! Doctor Carlos, the anesthetist, was also so kind and caring. I felt thoroughly at ease for my operation. Many, many thanks to everybody, including the kind nurse. My husband and I were both given a delicious meal afterwards, which was really appreciated - so welcome. Thank you very, very much for everything, everybody

I did not have a great experience at my consultation with Dr Ramia Mokbel. The consultation was very rushed- 10 minutes, then I was passed on to talk with a nurse ( speak to the nurse for a £300 consultation!!!!) , as Dr Mokbrl was rushing between patients in various rooms. Dr Mokbel was not keen on history taking, I felt she was dismissive of whatever I was saying and she did not even have a close look at my skin ; but just from across her desk. Dr Mokbel only recommended a treatment costing over £2000, which I was later warned that it is CONTRAINDICATED for me as I have Aspitin ( salicylates) allergy!! I was never sent any cliic lettr or written plan after my consultation. Definetly would not recommend Dr Mokbel to others.

There was no sense of being rushed, and everything was explained clearly and calmly. Mr Haslam completed my first full knee replacement in 2019 and this has been very successful. Prior to completing the first knee replacement Mr Haslam identified a skin lesion on my leg and referred me for further investigation. This was invaluable as the lesion was confirmed as a melanoma which was successfully removed prior to the knee replacement. I had not noticed the lesion myself so this was a critical intervention that may otherwise have gone undetected. The knee recovered well after surgery and has been a total success.

My appointment with Mr Philip Ahrens was convenient and went smoothly. All the reception staff at Portland Place were friendly and efficient. Dr Lee who and his assistant (Ahmed?) who carried out the ultrasound scan of my shoulder and the delivery of the steroid injection were first class. I have been treated by Mr Ahrens on two previous occasions - 2005 and 2010 - so I knew that he was the specialist I wanted to see on this occasion. Almost one week on and I am feeling the positive effects of my visit last Tuesday.

The procedure was so quick from the start to finish. Very pleasant staff. The good thing is I wasn't waiting too long so I was straight in & out within an hour & a half. Dr. O'Donnell is very efficient & brilliant at what he does. He is a very nice person very down to earth. Highly recommend him if you're thinking about going to get any type of bein treatment at all. Nothing was awkward at all & I was made to feel very comfortable.
