The surgery itself was great and completed successfully, however, the wait time and ward care was not good. I was phoned around 7pm the evening before my appointment to come in earlier in the morning for the surgery (the first slot at 7.30) but by the time I was called for surgery it was after 2pm. I was given one glass of water to sip at approx 9am which wasn't refilled so by the time I went into surgery I was dehydrated and my vein had collapsed. When returning from surgery I had a reaction to the drugs where blood pressure dropped when sitting up, the nurses wouldn't listen and kept trying to make me stand when I couldn't sit up all the way. It got to the point where my partner had to intervene and speak to the registered nurse. They told me they had to get me out as it was a day surgery (which I understand) but as I physically couldn't sit or stand they ignored what we were saying so they could discharge where it may not have been in my best interests to do so. I ended up staying the night after my partner intervened and the night staff were great and I experienced a significant raise in care.

I made an online appointment to see Dr Lach which was a very easy process. Dr Lach was very professional and listened to my concerns. Dr Lach was kind and explained every detail fully and ran some tests. Dr Lach came up with a treatment plan which had put my mind at ease and I am very happy with. The ACE facility was very impressive with sleek and modern finishes, and sensitively designed for allergy with all shared areas wipable and allergen-free. As a mother of a young baby, it was also great to see the centre ideally set up for kids and babies with easy pram access everywhere and multiple baby change facilities. The centre also offered all allergy-related support services (blood tests, pharmacy, dermatology) under one roof, saving me from having to run around to get my child everything needed.

I was seen late because apparently they'd fitted somebody else in before me . . . My Consultant had specified an Echo with Contrast but when I mentioned this to the member of staff, who was just about to start the treatment, he said it wasn't necessary to have the Contrast I didn't see Dr Kennon that day but it was him who requested the Echo with Contrast at a previous appointment
