I’m writing this after having my 12-week scan yesterday, where we saw a very active little baby, something we once weren’t sure we would ever experience. After a very long IVF journey, including multiple operations due to severe endometriosis, we made the decision to switch clinics and come to Guys under Professor Khalaf’s care. He performed one final operation that resolved the recurring issue I had been facing, and now, incredibly, I’m 12 weeks pregnant. During a time when we were truly in the depths of our IVF journey, a process that can be gruelling, exhausting and emotionally overwhelming, he gave us hope when we needed it most. We will always be incredibly grateful. I cannot recommend Professor Khalaf highly enough. He is incredibly approachable, positive and reassuring, and he gave me such a boost at a time when I needed it most. I also appreciated that I didn’t have lots of unnecessary, expensive scans; everything felt focused and purposeful. He is extremely responsive and always available to answer any questions. His manner is not only professional but also warm, making you feel safe, supported and completely comfortable throughout the entire process. Thank you so much, Professor Khalaf.

All seemed to be going well and at the close of my appointment the consultant asked me to have a blood test done outwith the Cathedral Also he advised that I should make an appointment for the operating procedure downstairs at reception. Circa end of April When I went to the desk I was advised that the member of staff was off that pm and I would receive a call tomorrow Next day I contacted my surgery about the blood sample and test. Late on my surgery called back to advise they were not willing to arrange the test as they were not treating me I received no call from Cathedrai that day The next day I waited to on and called Cathedral Spoke to Clare a few times and essence of conversation was that all was on hold as consultant on holiday and not available till 17th February Also no progress can be made with blood sample and rest even although I asked them to read my consultation notes !!! So I could comment more however this is the essence of a mot disappointing situation after my consultation

Mr Seb Sturridge

While no surgery is ever welcomed or entirely risk-free, the skill, care, and attention provided by Mr Sturridge were, I am in no doubt, a major contributing factor to my successful recovery.

I can’t recommend Dr Emily Cary highly enough. She has been absolutely amazing in supporting me through the early stages of perimenopause. From our very first appointment, she made me feel listened to, understood, and reassured during what can be a confusing and overwhelming time. Her knowledge, calm approach, and clear explanations helped me make sense of my symptoms and feel confident about the next steps. She took the time to tailor my care to me as an individual, rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. Thanks to her support and guidance, I feel far more informed, supported, and positive about managing this transition. I’m incredibly grateful for her care and would wholeheartedly recommend her to any woman at the start of their menopause journey.

Fitzrovia Suite

Overall, I had a good experience at the Fitzrovia Suite. The midwives were supportive, kind, and readily available, providing good care following my c section. I was particularly grateful for the overnight support. The team helped look after my baby, ensuring I was able to get much-needed sleep and rest, which was invaluable for my recovery. However, The handover process between midwives during shift changes could be better managed, as there were some gaps in communication between team members. Additionally, the catering was fairly average and quite rigid in terms of meal timings and available options, which could be more flexible.

Professor Tony Kochhar

Professor Kochhar was superb. Despite arriving in immense neck and shoulder pain, Prof. Kochhar immediately made me feel at ease, clearly listening to my symptoms but moving swiftly to ensure I was out of pain (or as much as was possible prior to a diagnosis). He instilled a level of calm and reassuring professionalism during our initial consult that gave me confident moving forward to understand the diagnosis and next steps. Further, he personally walked with me to ensure I had a same day MRI appointment amid a back to back schedule. Between his clear expertise and his care for seeing patients recover, I cannot recommend him enough.

I cannot recommend my consultant highly enough following my shoulder operation. From my very first appointment, he was incredibly kind, approachable and genuinely took the time to listen to my concerns. The care I received before and after surgery was exceptional, and I am extremely grateful for their professionalism, reassurance and support throughout the whole process. The consultant was very reassuring throughout. The teams, medical and physio, came across as calm, competent and professional. The nurses and reception staff at the hospital were friendly, calm and professional not just to me, the patient, but to my wife as well. Recovery after the procedure was less daunting than I feared it would be, the pain experienced was less than I feared it might be, and the rehab process has been every bit as easy as I was told it might be. So, thank you to everybody concerned.

I think Dr Perry is outstanding. He has been my neurologist for nine years. My case has evolved gradually and he has been there with the right level of information, diagnostic tests and treatment options at every step. He is well up on recent clinical science and brings that into the consultation in a way that is well calibrated and effective. I think he is a terrific doctor. His office has been terrifically responsive helping me coordinate treatment between different locations.

He took a real interest in fixing the issues I had been suffering for well over 2 years and the personal touch made the experience feel all the better. Came for a pre op, lovely staff and lovely pre op Nurse, however I was sent for bloods, I wasn’t asked if a trainee could take them, she tried twice which was painful, before the nurse then took them on the third go in my other arm. Totally understand the need for training however, I had made it known that I hated needles and was not a good person to practice on, I unfortunately got up feeling very dizzy and sick, which for me was unnecessary.

I couldn’t recommend the clinic more highly. The time between diagnosis and treatment was impressively short. I received excellent support from the doctor throughout the process. My surgery went smoothly, and I recovered very quickly, returning to full health in no time.
