I visited the hospital to see an orthopaedic surgeon after having a fall at work and damaging my knee. I have had issue with it since the accident I suffered at work.I was advised to lodge a claim with my employers insurance. This I did because of the problems I am having with my knee. I was sent to see this gentleman so he could assess the damage to my knee. I was treated as if I was only there because I was lodging a claim and to have recompense for the damage I suffered and still am. He seemed very abrupt and I felt as though I was cross examined over the form I had filled in regarding my injury. I left the room feeling like I had done something extremely bad and wrong. I have never had to go through this scenario and very much hope not to have to go through another. I am a patient who has an injury that I am advised my a consultant needs an operation yet I was treated though I was feigning injury. I do not feel valued having attend at the one hospital.

I have been under Mr Orlans’ care for almost a year now and have undergone multiple complex surgeries due to an unfortunate recurring retinal detachment. My most recent surgery being the 19th of January for a left cataract, Vitrectomy and removal of silicone oil. Despite the worries and concerns I’ve had, especially given my young age, my mother and I have continuously felt reassured from my consultations with Mr Orlans that every decision made was in the best interests of my health. My appointment with Dr Millar was on time and not at all rushed. She was very approachable and took the time to run through my results in detail. She gave in depth explanations that were correctly pitched to my level of understanding and she was incredibly patient with my long list of questions. In fact instead of seeming frustrated she appeared empathetic. She was very thorough, explained what would happen next and ensured I was clear on follow up. I honestly couldn’t be more grateful for her persistence with testing and for her help with the understanding the outcome. The diagnosis made all the pieces of the puzzle fall in place and Dr Millar seemed to recognise the importance of that.

Mr Yu performed successful glaucoma surgery on my eye 2 months ago. He is highly skilled and knowledgeable, taking the time to clearly explain the procedure to me beforehand, patiently answering all my questions fully. He is very calm and reassuring, (as is his whole team) so I felt relaxed and confident on the day. His continuing aftercare has been excellent, and my eye recovered more quickly than I expected, with much less pain than I had anticipated, all down to his high level of expertise. I will definitely choose him for future treatment and have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone considering this type of surgery. I am so grateful to him and his team.

I have recently had two procedures within two months, plus outpatient appointments. All members of staff, from receptionist to nursing staff to consultants, were extremely polite, and nothing was too much trouble. I have had two separate consultants, and they were extremely knowledgeable and put me at ease, as I was quite nervous. Their secretaries were very friendly each time I rang through, and nothing was too much trouble. The outpatient department is very modern and spotless. I was very impressed and grateful that so many different eye examinations were performed on me. The in patient department is also spotless, and my meal after my operation was delicious!

I injured my back the week before Christmas — I could not even walk with the pain. I emailed Dr Swan over the weekend not expecting a response until Monday. I should’ve known from my previous experiences that he really cares about his patients and their outcomes so I was not surprised when he called me at home in the evening to discuss what I could do to immediately to relieve the spasm and a plan of next steps for investigations and treatment. I could not think of a safer pair of hands to be in when you are in severe pain and dealing with a spinal injury.

I came to see Dr. Augustin Hadonou with a classic case of tennis elbow that had been bothering me for a while. What impressed me most was that he was the only specialist who could accurately reproduce my pain during the examination — which finally gave me confidence that the problem was correctly identified. He prescribed a set of targeted exercises, and within just a few weeks I noticed significant improvement. Now my elbow feels great — no pain, no discomfort whatsoever. Highly recommend Dr. Hadonou!

Everything went incredibly smoothly. As I had had a colonoscopy before I roughly knew what to expect, so there were no surprises. But what I particularly value is that Mr Ferguson, apart from being a thoroughly nice person, has an air of confidence which is reassuring. Not overconfidence like some Consultants, which can be irritating, or intimidating. One feels that one can ask him anything and you'll receive a considered, informed response. Very lucky to be in his care.

Always very friendly, attentive, a well-stocked childrens waiting room. On this latest visit we did have a slightly bizzare situation where we arrived, were checked in, weighed and measured, and put into the waiting room. We then received a phonecall - from the next room - explaining that we were late for our appointment. They were very embarrassed and there was no harm at all. Funny though!

The stay at Bushey spire was so efficient. I attended at 7.15am, was shown to my room immediately, received regular visits from the nurses, care staff and Mr Iranpour during the next hour. My procedure took place at 8.30am and by 1pm, I was on my way home. Everything was explained to me clearly and concisely and the level of care I received was second to none.
