I would like to begin by acknowledging the excellent care I received from the doctors during my first visit. Both clinicians went above and beyond, and I felt genuinely supported by them. Unfortunately, this high standard was not reflected in my interactions with the reception and administrative staff. After my consultation, the doctor provided me with a ticket for my next appointment and advised that, in the meantime, I should attend the imaging department for an ultrasound. When I arrived at imaging, the staff were dismissive and informed me that, because I was an NHS patient, they would need to write to my GP for a separate referral. I explained that the doctor had instructed me to have the ultrasound the same day. The staff member responded that if I waited in reception, she would speak to the doctor, adding that “quite often they don’t know how things are done.” I waited for an hour with no update. When I approached the desk to ask for news, the staff member replied, “I’m sorry, I forgot all about you,” and said she would speak to the doctor immediately. After she finally did so, the situation changed dramatically: I was suddenly offered an ultrasound appointment for 11:30 a.m. that same day — just an hour and a half later. It was clear that once the doctor became aware of the issue, the department acted quickly and efficiently, which I appreciated, especially as I live only ten minutes away. The ultrasound itself was carried out professionally, and the doctor performing it was excellent. He explained everything clearly and asked when my next appointment was. When I told him it was scheduled for six weeks later, he advised me to return to the main reception and request an earlier appointment, as his report would be completed that same day. However, when I approached reception, I was dismissed outright and told, “Doctors make appointments six weeks in advance — it is what it is.” Additionally, there was no record of my attendance on their system, only an appointment dated 23 March 2026, which, by their own admission, belonged to a different patient entirely. On reflection, while staff may appear polite on the surface, the reality of my experience was the opposite. The inconsistency, dismissiveness, and lack of coordination created unnecessary stress and undermined the otherwise excellent clinical care I received.

I arrived circa 15min before my appointment time as requested and was greeted courteously by the reception staff before being lead to an examination room to undergo a basic check of my eyesight and health check/questionnaire. On retuning to the waiting area I was almost immediately greeted by Mr Bhargava. The consolation was just 5min after the appointment time, which is excellent. The consultation was thorough and very professional, Mr Bhargava has a very good manner and following questioning and examination explained all the parameters relevant to my condition. Mr Bhargava then went on to detail treatment and advice in a concise but detailed way covering all aspects very well. I left feeling that the visit was well worthwhile and that I had been treated well in all aspects of the consolation. I would have no hesitation in recommending Mr Bhargava to friends and colleagues.

I have recently had cosmetic surgery at Sancta Maria and i genuinely would not want to go anywhere else…. I may be biased as I work at the hospital but for me regardless of who I was the staff were very professional and gave outstanding care. I always watch how every staff members provide this incredible service to other members of the public but honestly they showed me so much care and compassion throughout my surgery. The staff in all departments - especially recovery and ward as that’s where I spent my time mostly. Also Ashley in outpatients for providing me with an appointment for dressing clinic to put my mind at ease when I accidentally got my dressings wet. Honestly I would not want to have had my surgery anywhere else. Thank you all so much. I am very proud to work within such an incredible team.

At the initial consultation Dr Whitaker took the time to explain the condition and procedure in laymans terms to make it easier for us to understand. His compassionate and reassuring manner towards myself and my wife showed what a dedicated and gifted clinician he is. Dr Whitaker came to see us the morning of the procedure his calm and reassuring manner helped to disperse some of the anxiety I and my wife were feeling. Dr Whitaker took the time to speak to my wife once the procedure was complete, he reassured her about the success of the procedure, another example of his compassion by acknowleding my wife's anxiousness. His commitment to his patients is clear , he visited me after the procedure and then several days later. An expert in his field .

I was recently referred to The Alexandra hospital as an NHS patient for a left hip replacement. I was very nervous as I have a rare genetic condition called 'Nail Patella Syndrome' which affects my bones and my previous, right hip replacement was complicated when my femur broke during surgery. Mr Phaltankar was wonderful. He explained everything to me and was a real gentleman. The surgery was a huge success using a different, smaller prosthetic. I would highly recommend Mr Phaltankar. I cannot thank him enough for sorting out my very painful left hip. I would also like to add that being at 'The Alex' for this surgery was a fabulous experience. The care I received throughout was second to none. I could not have received better care.

Dr Mowat listened to my concerns and explained small changes to help relieve my symptoms meantime (which worked pretty quickly). My upper endoscopy was performed only a few weeks later- again all was explained well and results given straight away along with any instructions going forward. Biopsy results were returned within two weeks and Dr Mowat called me to discuss. He has a great manner and put me at ease which helped lessen my worries. He explained exactly what was to happen during the procedure and made sure I understood the results. All the staff involved were very professional and caring. Reception staff also, being very nice and professional, help make this clinic a pleasant place in which to have diagnostic procedures.

We got a private referal to see Dr Khan after being treated very badly by the NHS system. They had failed to identify after many tests my condition. Dr Khan immediately set about finding the root cause of the problem and thereby decide on treatment. Thanks to him installing the latest hi-tech diagnostic monitor It was quickly established that I needed a pacemaker, which was subsequently fitted successfully. Through all my consultations and treatments Dr Khan has been reassuring,, knowledgable, gentle and very kind. He has given me peace when I was in a state of extreme anxiety not knowing what was wrong. I owe a great deal to Dr Khan and regard myself as very lucky to have been under his care throughout my experience.

From start to finish, the care I received was outstanding. Miss Pissanou was professional, compassionate, and extremely thorough throughout the whole process, and her team were equally supportive and attentive. The hospital staff made me feel comfortable and well looked after at every stage, and the standard of care was exceptional. All staff, from reception to nurses and surgeons, I found to be friendly, courteous, helpful and professional. I was generally rather nervous about the whole process, this being the very first time I experienced any form of surgery or a stay in hospital. However, I was treated with the utmost respect and understanding and felt well advised at all times, allowing me to make informed decisions at my own pace, without being pressured. I had to wait a bit longer than I had anticipated for surgery but by comparison to the NHS, it was efficient and slick. It is early days to comment properly on my shoulder replacement but things are progressing well although slowly and I am hopeful for the future.

Once Again Dr Chiraush Patel was outstandingly professional and kind. I was fortunate enough to get an appointment within an hour of calling. It cannot be overestimated how important it is to patients to have a well trained Doctor with exemplary bedside manner to help the patient to recovery. This is true of all the other GPs at One Stop, but I am lucky enough to see Dr Patel mostly. My standards are very high but Dr Patel exceeds them by miles every time I visit (I only visit sparingly). This is medicine at its very best and reminds me of when GPs were true family Dotors back before fundholding. I am fortunate indeed to have such excellent GPs. Thank you Dr Patel and OSD!

I arrived early, as I was expecting to be seen in time, but my appointment was late ~45mins. I had discussed on the phone that I wanted to see someone who is going to be helpful with discussing menopause and other related issues. I was paying for the appointment myself, so I had high expectations. Unfortunately the time with the doctor felt rushed and I felt not heard. I had done a lot of research on holistic menopause care, and I felt that the doctor wasn’t in the same wave length with me. I was just advised to go and read more on menopause in two different websites. Examination was fine and straight forward, but to be sure of the diagnosis I will need futher procedures.

Pretty straightforward experience overall. The receptionist on the first floor (the Somali lady wearing a hijab) was extremely kind and helpful. My phone was about to die and I asked if there was any chance of a charger- she went out of her way to help me, which I really appreciated. It’s the small things like that which leave a lasting impression, and that’s exactly why I wanted to leave this review. The only small suggestion I’d make is having oat milk available at the coffee machine for those who don’t have dairy, it would be a thoughtful and considerate touch.

I attended my first appointment in a high level of pain, and Ian was very thorough in his approach. After a comprehensive investigation, we were unable to determine the root cause, so Ian referred me to other specialists; however, these consultations were also inconclusive. Following further discussion, we decided to proceed with exploratory surgery. This proved to be the best option, as Ian was able to identify the issue and release the affected nerve, fully resolving my problem. I am very pleased with the results and grateful for his proactive approach.

I had severe osteoarthritis in my right hip and I knew I needed a hip replacement. From my first consultation with Gavin he explained everything and his manner was calm and reassuring. I have a terrible needle phobia and all the nurses and staff were so kind to me. I must thank Gavins anaesthetist Alastair he calmed me down and my whole procedure was carried out very professionally. I cannot recommend Gavin and his team enough I am looking forward to my recovery and going back to my everyday activities with my brand new hip.
