5 months ago, in July-2025, Jonathan Webb and his team performed a Total Knee Replacement (known as a TKR) on my left knee. I could not have wished for a better experience and outcome. If anyone reading this post is considering a TKR and is choosing a surgeon I honestly don't think you will find a better option. I'm 65 years old and have had a pretty active and sporty life - but nothing hugely out of the ordinary. A year ago my [old] knee was beginning to give up - I was walking with a limp, stairs were getting difficult and cycling / other activities were getting so difficult that I was doing less and less. My life was being heavily impacted by my knee and it felt like my world was getting smaller and harder. An MRI confirmed that my knee joint was at its end of life - the cartilage was gone and arthritis was active. The NHS, for all the good that it does, was going to be a long wait and I also learned that you, the patient, don't get to choose your surgeon. So I decided to go privately. I met with a few surgeons and made an easy decision to work with Jonathan. He was engaging, caring, deeply experienced and had even had a TKR himself (do read the blog on his website... it's a good representation). Recovering after the operation is quite testing. The knee replacement is a major bit of surgery - it takes quite a long time to recover and there's quite a bit of pain during the first month or two. But if you take the painkillers properly, use the ice packs, elevate your leg and do the physio exercises (which make a big difference to your recovery) then you should come through it with a new knee and, speaking for myself, a new life. So, 5 months on from the operation, I'm doing all the things I did 10+ years ago. I'm back to taking the dog on long remote walks, long cycle rides and doing all the things I thought I'd never do again. Honestly - having the TKR has transformed my life. Most importantly, I believe that Jonathan Webb (and his team) is largely responsible for my hugely positive outcome. I've spoken with lots of people who've had a TKR and the ones who've been treated by Jonathan all seem to have had a better experience and a better outcome. Quite apart from the physical side, meeting and working with Jonathan was also superbly enjoyable and, at times, great fun. He's a great bloke as well as the most highly skilled surgeon (IMHO). I did and would again trust Jonathan with my knee and also, in fact, my life. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

When booking the consultation with Nick Panay, the earliest available date was 2 months in advance. I was required to pay the full £395 under pressure at time, being told that the consultation would be lost unless I paid by 5pm. My understanding that this appointment would be for specialist, in-depth input tailored to a complex clinical history. Given that context, I was disappointed that the consultation felt limited to a reiteration of guideline-based recommendations, with little opportunity to explore causation, individual nuance, or the specific questions I had prepared. At several points during the consultation, I felt that my questions were closed down rather than explored, and the overall tone felt more directive than supportive. Given my long and complex medical history, I had hoped for a more compassionate and collaborative approach. Instead, I left the consultation feeling unheard and dismissed, which was distressing. I had hoped for greater depth and collaborative discussion, particularly in light of the significant upfront cost. I was given no additional value beyond what I already knew and was told in any case, that I required a further consultation to finalise a treatment plan. I have been in contact with the practice and explained that the consultation did not meet the reasonable expectations set by the cost, structure, or positioning of this service. I appreciate that since, I have received a considered response from the Practice Manager and the consultation and fee are being reviewed.

From my initial appointment with Mr Hoo, I felt all my questions were answered and felt at ease, from the onset I knew I would choose Mr Hoo as my surgeon. I had done a lot of research for my procedure and felt reassured from my initial appointment. Pauline (Mr Hoo’s nurse) was also very informative and patient regarding any questions which I had. My surgery was booked and due to unforeseen circumstances had to rescheduled, Brenda in appointments was very helpful and offered me a cancellation slot which I was very thankful for. On the day of surgery, I was admitted into the admission pod and here all staff were attentive, I met with the anaesthetist and Mr Hoo and thereafter went to theatre. The theatre nurse and anaesthetist were so lovely, talked me through everything and I felt reassured. Thereafter, in the recovery ward, the nurse was excellent when asked about pain, I was immediately given pain meds which eased the pain and brought upstairs to a room which the excellent care continued. Mr Hoo came to see me and answer any further questions, truly 5* service from the onset. The hospital was spotless and attention to detail by all staff was exceptional.

I had a great experience with Dr Cappai at Diverse Minds Clinic. She listened to all my concerns and gave me good advice on therapy and pharmacological treatment. I conducted some research before booking with Diverse Minds Clinic, and I was reassured because the clinic is registered with the CQC (unlike some other popular services in London), and Dr Cappai also works in the NHS as an ADHD specialist. The building in central London, Harley Street, is very elegant, and I felt comfortable during the long assessment (I had a 3-hour ADHD and ASD assessment), and Dr Cappai allowed some breaks and ensured I was at ease. The appointment started on time, and the report was very thorough. I am happy with the service. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

The staff were incredibly helpful, understanding and supportive. I explained my concern and was given an urgent appointment. Vanessa S is the perfect person for her role and puts people at ease immediately. She secured me a hearing test and a consultation appointment on the same day. She also helped me with some of the administrative elements of using my private healthcare as the process has changed since I last used it. Very helpful, friendly, professional and reassuring. I was greeted on arrival, immediately shown to the waiting area and taken straight through to my first appointment, even though I was a few minutes early. Cannot fault the service I received and the care and professionalism was consistent throughout.

We first went 4 years ago with our first son and had 4 scans. We are pregnant again and just had our final scan which would be our 3rd/4th this pregnancy and every time we go the ladies are just a pleasure. So kind, so thorough and just lovely lovely people. We had Lisa today asked she is so nice, patient and a lovely person. There is usually a young girl at reception who is lovely but today there was a different lady who possibly was having a bad day as she was not welcoming not friendly. Possibly didn’t want to be at work and she had the impression she couldn’t be bothered. But it wouldn’t stop me from going as everyone else is always great

Prompt, on time. Comfortable waiting area, convenient parking. Filling out the details on paper seemed a bit inefficient, couldn’t this be done online before the appointment and have paper as a back up? The on site pharmacy did not stock the prescribed medication, which was a little disappointing.
