I recently completed a course of CBT sessions with Dr Sharon Pettit, focusing on managing my anxiety, worry, and rumination. When I first began, I struggled significantly with social interactions, often feeling socially awkward and fixating on past conversations. My mind would race with worries about things entirely beyond my control, pushing my anxiety levels to an all-time high. It felt like I was in a constant state of fight or flight, from the moment I woke up until I went to bed, leaving me completely drained. Now, almost six months later, I've gained valuable tools to help manage my thoughts and emotions. While I wouldn’t say I’m completely cured, I feel about 75% better and am now enjoying a much happier life. I've decided to take a break from CBT for the time being, but I'm committed to returning if I notice my anxiety levels rising again.

After many months of difficulties prompted by the sudden loss of my husband, I can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel. Communication with Kernow Psychiatry has been very responsive and I booked an initial appointment to discuss my mental health difficulties. Dr Reid welcomed me into a comfortable room at the wellness hub, she immediately put me at ease and took care make sure I was settled and ready to start. After the hour, Dr Reid summarised what she saw as the key priorities to getting me back on an even keel, suggesting a clear approach to addressing my intersecting issues. I am looking forward to my follow up appointment and the start of my recovery treatment plan. I only wish I’d followed my instincts sooner and booked in months ago.

After the first right eye cataract removal Mazen Tahhan gave me his telephone number and said to call him if I had a problem. I am a very keen insect photographer and found with the distance lens I could not see the camera screen clearly. I became worried about the impact on my ability to focus close up on insects. About 8 p.m. I sent him a text briefly outlining my concerns . He called me back immediately and listened carefully. I was even considering other options than the NHS lens and he kindly sent details of these. However he advised me to I stay with a close-up NHS lens to get as much light into the eye as possible. I followed his advice and am very pleased and very satisfied with the result. Sabina George

Steve is excellent. Personable and very professional and clearly knows his stuff. He operated on our son following a shoulder dislocation playing rugby. Throughout the process, Steve was clear with the surgical options and very thorough in his explanations, particularly understanding with the emotions of a teenager and his desperation to be back on the pitch again. He has a friendly manner and was always quick to answer extra questions we had between consultations. He did an excellent surgical job on our son and we’d have no hesitation in recommending him. I was very impressed with my consultant but the hospital care was terrible. I had a 2 night stay and it wasn’t until the day I was leaving that I managed to have a shower and get out of the surgical gown into my own nightdress. I felt that the anaesthesiologist was very rushed with her consultation and did not listen to my concerns and as a result I had a bad reaction to the anaesthetic. After leaving the hospital I has 2 weeks of feeling very dizzy and sick then a rash appeared all over my body. My initial consultation was very positive and everything was explained well but the hospital experience and the aftercare were not so good.

When undertaking base line assessment prior to the procedure, this was conducted in the reception area. During this taking place, 3 other people arrived and seated themselves in the reception area. We were unclear if they were members of the public, staff or other appointments. They were not introduced to us as observers for my treatment. The introduction didn't occur until Prof Zveorov arrived, then introductions were made and my family was made aware they were from other institutions to learn and observe. The support and treatment were excellent.

I went to see Emma for help with scar tissue damage after a recent calf tear. We also looked at IBS help and sleeping and also regulating my body tempreture as I naturally run warm. By the same evening after one session there was a marked change in my stomach and temperature control. I’ve booked in to see Emma again. I would highly recommend this knowledgeable and experienced lady.
