I waited over an hour to be seen for my pre admission appointment. After being admitted and been shown to my room I was left for 5 hours in a cold room without anyone checking on me or giving me information about when my operation would be. Staff only turned up when I called and was then able to get some water as I was then advised that my operation was being delayed for a few hours. Short staffed. Slow to respond to buzzer calls. Staff always seemed to be busy doing something else other than looking after patients. Quite noisy ward during the day with people’s loud voices/laughing. Outdated facilities, no overhead bed light so had to have the main big room lights on all the time, which I could not control. I was moved to a different room after my operation as the first one did not have sufficient heating. The en-suite bathrooms are very outdated. Very short shower hose. In my second room there were 2 Rentokill boxes in shower. 50% of staff were friendly. I had major abdominal surgery. My night nurse was very compassionate and took very good care of me for 2 nights. I was discharged with the insufficient amount of painkillers to take home and without a physio assessment or much information about what symptoms to look out for and how to help recovery. I had to contact my own GP to get enough painkillers. Once discharged I had to walk with my husband all the way to the car at the pickup parking as there was no porter or wheelchair available. I had given 1h notice and then let her know again 10minutes before my husband arrived to collect me.

He explained the options to me very carefully, he gave advice and allowed time for me to ask questions which he answered fully. However, I was over weight and he explained very carefully the risks posed in surgery by the extra weight I was carrying. We decided a way forward together; we set a date for the operation, allowing time for me to lose some weight. I was very grateful to him for providing me with a clear focus and for his encouragement. By the date of the operation, I had lost a substantial amount of weight and the operation was performed successfully. I have a great deal to thank Professor Shaikh for - in addition to his surgical expertise, I am grateful for his advice, encouragement and support. I have the utmost confidence in him and I have no hesitation in recommending him, unreservedly.

My daughter has been seeing a physiotherapist since she was a toddler and has carried on once we moved from London. Her physiotherapist in Central Bedfordshire requested that we have a consultation with Dr Verma and his team in 2023. We had a meeting with the physiotherapist, Dr Verma and his team to review what could be done to help my daughter. Her feet were turned in, her legs were turned in and her hips are turned in. We decided that we would correct the right foot first, then we would move on to the left foot and then when she is in her late teens her hips. We have been fully informed of the procedures and the recovery time throughout the process. After having the right food done, we can see that when my daughter walks her leg is actually straight. So, we are hoping that after she has her physio on her left foot the same will happen. This will help her a great deal especially with her posture and being able to do things a peer her age would be able to do.

Mr. Tsepov explained the plan clearly, set realistic expectations, and answered my questions without rushing. His calm and confident manner helped me feel safe, especially during moments where I felt anxious. Vicky, the nurse, was outstanding. She was attentive, warm, and reassuring. She noticed what I needed and acted quickly. That kind of care matters when you feel vulnerable. Nadia, Mr. Tsepov’s PA, was organised and responsive. Communication was clear and quick, and the admin side ran smoothly. That reduced stress at a time when I had limited energy. Thank you to everyone involved. I felt respected, listened to, and cared for as a whole person, not a task.

Both myself and my daughter have been patients of Dr Bakshi for over a year and he has helped us hugely. Recently my 18 month old was suffering from back to back viruses and worsening rashes. I contacted Dr Bakshi in desperation just before Christmas as the treatment advice from the GP was not working, and it was looking like we would be unable to travel and see family while she was so unwell. Dr Bakshi identified 2 types of skin infection and was able to advise the correct regimen of creams to use, and we were able to see our family at Christmas. Thank you so much for your kindness and empathy, and for always going above and beyond. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr Bakshi for both adults and children; he is one of the kindest and most helpful and knowledgeable consultants I have come across, and his secretary Rahul is also lovely and very responsive and helpful.

Arrived fifteen minutes before the agreed appointment time as requested. Waited a further 20 minutes before being taken into the pre Investigation booth. Advised to remove certain clothing and jewellery which I did. Ifudbt catch what the nurse ? Assistant quite says as she spoke so quickly. A reversed to this a that. I waited in the booty a further 10 -15 minutes. I opened the door. No one around. I went back into reception as I didn’t know where I should be. Wondering whether I should have returned to the reception. An assistant checked my details. Then a further assistant arrived and took me back to the booth. Scan itself. Could not understand the therapist heard part but again so quick. But held in there. Need more clarity clearer instructions. Speak slowly.

I had a check up and cleaning from the dentist Sonia. What a marvellous professional and friendly person. I am extremely nervous at dentist but Sonoa went above a beyond to make me at easy. She transmitted me calm and I'd never ever thought to feel calm at the dentist. I only hope she will not leave as well. I am so tired of OSD turnover of staff it's very stressful for me getting used to someone and than change it. Everything from pre op to post op was and has been fantastic and put me at total ease. This was my first operation and first real experience being admitted into hospital and i couldn’t have been more comfortable. The surgery couldnt have gone better and i’ve had minimal pain to date and recovering well. I’m very happy with the care i received and want to thank Mr Dehne and his team.

The consultation started more than 10 minutes late and I felt rushed throughout the entire assessment, which was extremlely disappointing because BUPA had authorised a number of sessions if needed. I was left with a number of questions and core issues that I had no time to address. It felt more like a tick box exercise than a thorough patient led assessment. Given that further sessions were authorised, this rush felt counterproductive and was a missed opportunity to address the complexity of my situation.

I noticed the cleanliness of the office and waiting rooms. A very polite gentleman dealt with our car parking charge and wished us well - this was noted too. We were also kept informed of why the appointment was slightly late - this too was most appreciated since others in the waiting room were going ahead of us despite having later appointments. Simple things do make all the difference. Appointment itself was efficient as was the subsequent X-ray test downstairs. All in all - very pleased.
