I have visited St Joseph’s a number of times for consultations and have always had a good experience. However as a day case today there was quite a wait for the appointment to begin. It was uncomfortable in the waiting area with a cold draught blowing in through sliding doors. The letter stated the admission was at 5pm but were only called in at 5.40pm. The procedure went well and the nurses/assistants were very friendly. The facility was clean and clutter free. However the consultant then went into this busy waiting area and informed my relative, who accompanied me, with the results of the procedure in front of other patients and staff. This was highly inappropriate and the hospital needs to ensure there are private areas to discuss medical information in future. For a privately paying service one would expect there to be better controls and more discretion to be provided for medical procedures.

The whole experience was very welcoming, and I left feeling informed and reassured. I can’t recommend him enough!

I attended MWH Clinic and had consultations with Ms Latthe & an ultrasound scan performed by Dr Balogun. Ms Latthe was fantastic and thoroughly addressed my health concerns - I felt very reassured. I would definitely return to Ms Latthe if I required any surgical treatment in the future. Dr Balogun was so lovely and very kind. I was made to feel very comfortable throughout & her assistant made my feel totally at ease. I cannot fault the service I have received. Received excellent feedback after thorough review and feedback before receiving a final decision on the best way forward, I had considered going overseas for the treatment however, I do not believe I would have achieved. the same outcome as the level of detail and prep including contact lenses to establish the best option took time which I would not have been afforded by the overseas company as it was only a week long process. Service was good when I had the appointments Long wait times where I had no info at times, had to chase replies to my emails, particularly once where I got an email saying i would be able to book my appointment 'very soon' and then nothing for weeks More info before appointments would have been nice, what to expect / prepare, my second appointment I assumed was going to be the diagnosis but turned out to just be another round of questionnaire questions not with the psychiatrist

I felt like I left with more questions than when I arrived, but didn’t have the courage to ask as our time was up. I appreciate your time is precious and you have lots of patients to see, but unfortunately my expectations were not met and I left feeling upset and confused.

Dr Cockbain is an amazing man, from first meeting him i felt reassured things would be ok. Dr Cockbain explained everything in detail regarding my surgery and making this horrible cancer journey a lot better, the sensitivity and compassion he has for his patients is second to none. 8 months now since I’ve had a partial gastrectomy and you wouldn’t even know, I’m back to being healthy. I cannot rate Dr Cockbain and his team highly enough.

I had a raised spot on my arm which was diagnosed as actinic keratosis- precancerous cells. GP recommend cream but didn’t want to use due to side effects. Dr Gupta was very professional and had a very caring and kind disposition. She used cryotherapy on the area which was only mildly uncomfortable for a few seconds and then checked the rest of my body for me. Thoroughly recommend and have booked my husband for a body check! Thank you ☺️

I arrived at 9.05 for an appointment at 9.30 am. Checked in and waited approx 3 minutes and was called by Mr Sapare and escorted to his room. After an examination and explanation of my before and after surgery he gave me advice on how to proceed to full recovery. I was back in my companions car by 9.20. I would recommend any one if offered the the chance to attend the Spire Hospital to go and get treated there.

Private care at the Western Eye Hospital

For private treatment it was very disappointing. The overall building and facilities were shabby and rundown. There was no reception or anyone to direct me as where to go. If your Trust is to offer private treatment, it has to be more professional and provide better quality facilities otherwise it is taking money under false pretences. It is not want private treatment should be.
