Admin efficiency Things didn't get off to a great start when there seemed to be an issue regarding what my insurance would cover, even though I had received two confirmations from the insurer over the phone and one confirmation by email. I felt a bit like a criminal and that I was lying about the treatment being covered. In the end, the insurer had to phone Practice Plus direct to sort it out, because no-one would believe that I was telling the truth. I've never come across this problem before at the Spire or the Nuffield. Usually the admin trail works very smoothly. Cleanliness The carpet in the waiting area is dirty and is covered in tea/coffee stains. There were pubic hairs on the toilet seat in one of the toilets by the waiting area. Not great at all. Waiting Time I am a private patient and I usually use the Spire in Bristol or the Nuffield, which run to time. My appointment for an injection was 30minutes late. Unacceptable. Staff To be fair, some of the staff are lovely. But some of the staff are downright rude. When I went to speak to one of the receptionists after waiting for my appointment for over 20minutes, I simply asked to check that I was on the system. The answer "yes". Oh I said, it's just that I haven't been called yet. Is there a delay? The answer "yes" - and a roll of the eyes to say "yes and your problem with that is??" I have to have another appointment at some point, so let's hope that my next experience is better.

I was diagnosed with a carotid tumour, and after reading and hearing about the risks of surgery, I initially decided against it and planned to proceed with radiotherapy instead. However, every specialist I consulted strongly recommended that I speak to Mr Rupert Obholzer, who is widely regarded as an authority on carotid tumours. From our very first consultation, Mr Obholzer impressed me with his calm, patient, and thorough approach. He took the time to explain everything in clear, understandable terms and answered all of my many questions without ever making me feel rushed. He was honest about the risks involved, but at the same time his confidence, experience, and professionalism gave me reassurance that I was in the best possible hands. In the end, I decided to proceed with surgery, and I am so grateful that I did. The operation went extremely well, and I experienced no neurological or other side effects. The care I received before, during, and after the procedure was outstanding. I will always be grateful to Mr Obholzer for his expertise, his compassion, and the life-changing care he provided. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone facing a similar diagnosis.

I went privately for a hip replacement. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. I was met in reception by a lovely man who took my bag for me an led me to my room. I was admitted by staff who each came to introduce themselves and explain what they would be doing. The room was lovely with a view onto the woodland just outside where a herd of small deer ran past one morning. The food was excellent and the staff were plentiful and friendly. If I had not been there for surgery, I would still have been happy to stay in that room! The surgery was fine and the aftercare was very efficiently handled by all concerned. When I did need to press my buzzer for attention, someone responded promptly and fetched the relevant staff members to help me. I felt safe and well cared for. It was the first time I have had surgery and I was apprehensive but the staff were all calm and reassuring.

I first attended Miss Satherley's clinic six months ago. With a family history of breast cancer, I was left feeling very concerned when my GP sent me for investigation. I am so grateful to have found Miss Satherley. She has managed to calm the deep seated fear I have regarding my family history and spent no end of time listening to my questions and worries, taking time to explain everything to me in such a clear and concise manner, and even took the time to teach me a self examination technique. To know I have Miss Satherley to turn to should I find anything I'm uncertain of has made no end of difference. I cannot recommend Miss Satherley enough to anyone who may find themselves in a similar situation to myself.

Great! Excellent overall experience. Facilities in general good, room, cleanliness, staff and procedure. I really am a fan, and if necessity arises would return with a lot of confidence that things would go well. Two small items of feedback : Negative - situation of the centre is not ideal and some patients get a view of a dingy disused courtyard . This is a minor point ! Food could be a little more interesting. Positive - its both reassuring and positive that the whole experience, especially the excellent staff, are so personal. The patient feels that care is tailored specifically to them. Little danger of removing the wrong leg! Warm human interchanges throughout, which is very, very good!

I had a check up and cleaning from the dentist Sonia. What a marvellous professional and friendly person. I am extremely nervous at dentist but Sonoa went above a beyond to make me at easy. She transmitted me calm and I'd never ever thought to feel calm at the dentist. I only hope she will not leave as well. I am so tired of OSD turnover of staff it's very stressful for me getting used to someone and than change it. Sonia is precious if I was OSD boss I'd do whatever I can to keep this kind of empathetic professional with me. Doc Sonia thank you from the bottom of my heart to make me feel special. At my recent follow up appt I was able to show him my range of movement so much so I was able to give him a hug and am truly grateful for his expertise, compassion and kindness.
