About Mr Raghu Prasad
Mr Raghu Prasad is a Consultant Upper Limb Surgeon specialising in conditions affecting the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand. He has worked in Trauma and Orthopaedics since 2001 and developed a particular interest in upper limb surgery in 2007.
Mr Prasad undertook dedicated fellowship training in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery as well as Hand and Wrist Surgery at the Avon Orthopaedic Centre, Bristol. His interest in upper limb pathologies led to involvement in cadaveric and clinical research, with this work resulting in national & International presentations and publications.
His practice encompasses treating various upper limb conditions like sports injuries, soft tissue injuries, joint instability, fractures and arthritis of the upper limb.
Mr Prasad's specific clinical interests include tennis and golfer's elbow, biceps repair, stiff elbow, frozen shoulder, clavicle fractures, acromioclavicular joint surgery and shoulder stabilisation. He also performs procedures including shoulder arthroscopy, rotator cuff repair, shoulder replacement, carpal tunnel surgery and trigger finger release.
Teaching forms another part of Mr Prasad's professional activities. He is a faculty member on courses providing practical skills and examination preparation for surgical trainees and has experience teaching medical students.
His professional memberships include the British Elbow and Shoulder Society, British Orthopaedic Association, British Indian Orthopaedic Society, British Medical Association and Medical Protection Society.

I was a patient of Mr Prasad’s two years ago when I underwent surgery, and I cannot speak highly enough of the care and professionalism he showed throughout the whole process. From the very beginning, he took the time to explain everything to me in great detail, answering my questions and reassuring me at every stage. Naturally, I had concerns about the procedure, and my biggest worry was being left with noticeable scarring. Mr Prasad understood this concern and did an excellent job, leaving me with minimal scarring.
