Mr Raghu Prasad

Mr Raghu Prasad is a Consultant Upper Limb Surgeon specialising in conditions affecting the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand. He has worked in Trauma and Orthopaedics since 2001 and developed a particular interest in upper limb surgery in 2007.

His practice encompasses sports injuries, soft tissue injuries, joint instability, fractures and arthritis of the upper limb. Mr Prasad's specific clinical interests include tennis and golfer's elbow, biceps repair, stiff elbow, frozen shoulder, clavicle fractures, acromioclavicular joint surgery and shoulder stabilisation. He also performs procedures including shoulder arthroscopy, rotator cuff repair, shoulder replacement, carpal tunnel surgery and trigger finger release.

Mr Prasad undertook dedicated fellowship training in both Shoulder and Elbow Surgery and Hand and Wrist Surgery at the Avon Orthopaedic Centre in Bristol. His interest in upper limb surgery has also led to involvement in cadaveric and clinical research, with his work resulting in presentations and publications.

Teaching forms another part of Mr Prasad's professional activities. He is a faculty member on courses providing practical skills and examination preparation for surgical trainees and has experience teaching medical students.

His professional memberships include the British Elbow and Shoulder Society, British Orthopaedic Association, British Indian Orthopaedic Society, British Medical Association and Medical Protection Society.
