In Feb 2025,I had same day cataract surgery ( in 50 mins) ,with multi focal implants, at Shirley Oaks hospital. Both the surgeon and another colleague advised that there were no fundament problems with the outcome of the surgery. On 19th April Purley Specsavers advised that there was no stability at all with his left eye. After further refractions and other glasses-single lens and multi focal glasses- there was still no improvement in short distance vision and problems in driving at night time. On 20th October, Director of Specsavers, on 2/10/25 , advised that glasses could not improve beyond N8. I appointed Mr Harsum, 29/9/25, as an independent advisor and reports were written on 14/10/25 , 22/10/25 and 8/12/25. The reports concluded: still very significant astigmatism, despite a left Toric lens. Possible outcomes : refractive error, astigmatism, lens exchange or refund of costs. I am meeting Mr Harsum 8/1/26 to agree outcome required on the basis of NHS treatment . Mr Harsum has provided me with confidence that he has been able to potentially propose a lens refund solution and hence a return to 20/20 vision. I am very great full in having located his professional service, in S London.

I am transformed! I came to see Mrs Langton Hewer because I had suddenly gone completely deaf in one ear. She listened to me when I explained my anxieties and then examined my ears. She diagnosed otis externa which was causing pain and there was water behind the wax causing deafness. She then very carefully removed wax and debris from my ear and my hearing was immediately restored. I am so grateful that this was diagnosed so expertly and then sorted out immediately. Prompt, on time. Comfortable waiting area, convenient parking. Filling out the details on paper seemed a bit inefficient, couldn’t this be done online before the appointment and have paper as a back up? The on site pharmacy did not stock the prescribed medication, which was a little disappointing.

I was able to get a same day appointment for a bladder and kidney scan. When I arrived I had a helpful and friendly reception. My scan was completed in a relaxed and informative style. I was also give feedback there and then. I can't fault the whole process from start to finish.
