I am at Kingsbridge Hospital for partial knee replacement surgery. Surgical Ward 1 - 28/11/2025. I am writing to express my deepest and sincere thanks for the outstanding care I am receiving during my stay at Kingsbridge Hospital, Ballykelly. The professionalism and kindness I am receiving during my care is outstanding. Sarah, Kerry, Laura & Kim (night staff) from Ward 1 have all been wonderful, nothing was any trouble and I want to thank them for going above and beyond to ensure my well being. Unfortunately, I can’t remember all the names of the staff on ward 1 when I booked in, but again these staff were amazing (Keavsa/luke). I have felt very at ease during my stay and that has come across naturally from you all. You deserve recognition for all your hard work and care you have provided. Please convey my heartfelt thanks to all the staff involved in my care, including the doctors Mr Acton, Dr Brian OG McLary and their team who showed exceptional expertise. Not forgetting the physio. My initial consultation was friendly and efficient but the X-ray was not available owing to a powercut that suddenly lost access to the computer! I was overwhelmed a few days later when I phoned to ask if I could do anything to chase up the X-ray, as I was more than eager to be offered a date for the operation, and your team went above and beyond the call of duty to reach Mr Weitzel on the phone despite his being on holiday and to call me back to offer me an operation of 5 August, the date that I was thrilled to accept. During my stay at Blackheath Hospital I was given exemplary care by every member of staff and my recovery has been steady despite my attempting to return to work perhaps rather earlier than was entirely wise. The difference is transformational, and I'm now bouncing around once again after a period when I was having difficulty even walking across a room. Thank you for making so much difference to my life!

Dr Runa Ali

Being a medical doctor myself, I am able to really appreciate the presence of a kind and empathetic doctor so much more when I find myself at the patient end of a consultation. Dr Ali has previously treated me very successfully over 10 years ago for my very severe hay fever with desensitisation therapy. Understandably, after such a long period of time, there has been some mild recurrence of my symptoms and I was able to get more incredibly helpful advice from Dr Ali again on how to manage this. She is very thorough in her approach and listens carefully to all of your symptoms whilst checking in along the way. She is also very good in helping you weigh up several options whilst letting you decide on which way forward would work best for you. I would strongly recommend Dr Ali to anyone with significant allergies.

I saw Alex Townsend for a running injury on my foot/ankle via Bupa. He was very professional, provided great care, and was excellent at communicating his thought process as he inspected my injury. He was efficient and determined in getting me the necessary follow ups booked timely when I told him I had an upcoming race. He referred me to Dr. Burdon who was also very professional and provided great care. After our follow up, Alex provided me with useful training resources for foot taping and running. He performed walking and running gait analysis on me. It was insightful to hear his analysis, and it formed the basis for him to refer me for additional foot physio appointments to strengthen my foot and minimize chance of future injuries.

After almost a year of tests under another organisation, Dr Woodland was almost instantly able to pinpoint what my problem was and create a plan of action for my treatment going ahead. He also told me I was unlikely to need the tests that I was booked in for elsewhere, which would have saved me a lot of money had I been paying for them privately. Although I am still on the road to complete health, Dr Woodland was very good at putting things into perspective for me, which has given me hope!
