Arrived early Saturday morning for a small knee operation. Taken to my room by a lovely friendly porter. Was invited immediately by catering to make a choice of food from an excellent menu. Then seen by nurses, anaesthetist, surgeon, who all explained exactly what was going to happen, in a relaxing manner, giving me complete confidence in their care. I was soon taken to theatre by the lovely chatty nurse & porter, that had been with me from my arrival. They obviously had a happy working relationship, including me in their chat to make me feel more relaxed. The anaesthetist was lovely, chatting about Christmas whilst calmly letting me drift into sleep. I woke up feeling well & refreshed, taken back to my room for a cuppa & delicious sandwich. The nurses continued their careful monitoring of me & I was soon seen by the physiotherapist who explained about the importance of my post-exercise sheet & use of crutches. Then a visit by Mr Slack, my amazing surgeon that had previously done my hip replacement, who explained what he’d done, that all had gone well, discharging me to go home & it’s only early afternoon. My painkillers arrive, my home instruction booklet is completed, I can go home. What fantastic care from all the staff & medical team, many thanks to you all.

Being a medical doctor myself, I am able to really appreciate the presence of a kind and empathetic doctor so much more when I find myself at the patient end of a consultation. Dr Ali has previously treated me very successfully over 10 years ago for my very severe hay fever with desensitisation therapy. Understandably, after such a long period of time, there has been some mild recurrence of my symptoms and I was able to get more incredibly helpful advice from Dr Ali again on how to manage this. She is very thorough in her approach and listens carefully to all of your symptoms whilst checking in along the way. She is also very good in helping you weigh up several options whilst letting you decide on which way forward would work best for you. I would strongly recommend Dr Ali to anyone with significant allergies.

Thanks to his outstanding surgical skill and expertise, my operation was a complete success: the cancer was entirely removed with clear margins, and I have experienced no incontinence and no impairment of sexual function. Dr Bajwa put me at ease the moment I went into the theatre for the removal of a BCC. I asked for him to confirm surgery was still needed after having had a biopsy previously and he said he could still see it but would check with Dr Brass to ensure a 100% which it was he showed me what would happen reassuring me constantly and give me the opportunity to ask questions he also had a manner that didn't make you feel just another day in surgery and that he was the doctor and you just the patient and this is what I am doing . I would think he would adapt his bed side manner to each and every individual patient making you feel relaxed about the procedure

Arrived at diagnostics centre and was just expecting a consultation with a further appointment for procedure was feel anxious but was made to feel welcomed and reassured by all receptionist was really pleasant as was my nurse Eileen I believe her name to be. I then met Mr Muen who was very polite, reassuring and empathetic. To my surprise my procedure was carried out within this appointment saving me further anxieties, travel and time. I was absolutely taken back by the complete professionalism of all at Kingsbridge Thank you from an extremely happy patient.

It has been both therapeutic and diagnostic, giving me much clearer insight into my condition as well as meaningful relief. The only reason for giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that this was a relatively minor procedure. I’m sure if I were to undergo surgery and receive the same level of care, it would easily be a 5 star experience. Overall, very professional, reassuring, and effective care.
