The iGP - Private Doctors - Newport

Phoned in morning. Had an appointment with doctor in afternoon. Receptionist was wonderful Dr. O’Neill was great showed interest in me and my problems. Within 2 days I had blood taken. Again lady that took blood was good friendly and I didn’t feel anything. My first 2 visits to Newport could not have gone any better. Thank you

The consultation was online, but the doctor was excellent. It’s nice to be listened to and for empathy being shown when you’re explaining the issues and difficulties you’ve been experiencing.

I attended the clinic twice in two days - once for a consultation and then for a comprehensive blood test. I will get my results in another couple of days. It was like going back in time to how the GP used to be - plenty of time to discuss things fully, to be listened to and understood, allowed to raise more than one thing etc. It was truly a lovely experience (and I can't tell you how much I hate going near clinics).

I was unable to have half of my tests, as they are time-sensitive; they need to be carried out as late in the working day as possible. My appointment was at 10am. My options were half of the tests now & half tomorrow or come back tomorrow, at 4pm, for all of them. I chose the latter. I'm not impressed.

I had an appointment with Dr Ryan O'Neill who was quite frankly the best GP I have ever seen. He took the time to check for all possibilities that were making me feel poorly and to also understand all my pre-existing health conditions that could weave into my current issue. I usually find some Dr’s just jump straight to a conclusion without considering how my other health conditions can be confounding the current issue or vice versa. I also found he had a genuine bed side manner where he seemed to actually care about my well being where as other GP’s are very robotic and don’t seem to care. Even down to little things like helping me sit up after being examined. I suffer quite badly with anxiety and meeting new people but I was put at ease immediately because of all of this and how friendly he was. It was so refreshing to meet a Dr who is exactly how you expect a Dr to be, someone who cares about their patients and wants to ensure they do their best to make them feel better and I wish all Dr’s were like this. The price I felt was extremely reasonable, if not cheaper than the service was worth. Given how thorough my examination and appointment was. I just want to express my thanks for looking after me as I have no doubt had I not been seen today I would of very soon ended up in a&e. Instead I am at home resting with my kids and on the right path with antibiotics.
