Mr Aadhar Sharma

Mr Aadhar Sharma is a highly skilled Consultant Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeon, currently consulting patients at The Runnymede Hospital, Bishops Wood Hospital and The Clementine Churchill Hospital. He began his medical journey at Guy’s, King’s, and St Thomas’ Hospitals, followed by basic surgical training in Essex. After a year of research at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, he secured a place in the prestigious Imperial North-West Thames training programme, which is centred at St Mary’s and Charing Cross Hospitals.

During his training, Mr Sharma gained significant experience in spinal surgery, spending two years at the major trauma centre at St Mary’s Hospital, where he honed his skills in both orthopaedic and neurosurgical techniques. He also worked extensively in the high-volume spinal unit at the Royal Free London. His senior registrar year was at the internationally acclaimed Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, where he further specialised in managing adult and paediatric spinal deformities, as well as complex and revision degenerative spinal cases.

Mr Sharma's advanced fellowship at Frimley Park Hospital allowed him to perfect his techniques in adult spinal surgery, focusing on minimally invasive and microscopic methods, as well as handling a variety of spinal instrumented cases. His expertise also covers emergency spinal surgeries for conditions such as cauda equina compression, spinal tumours, infections, and fractures. He served as a locum consultant at Frimley and St Peter’s before his permanent appointment.

In his extensive practice at Ashford and St Peter’s, Mr Sharma performs a broad range of spinal procedures, including injections, microdiscectomies, decompressions, and fusions, covering the entire spine. His dedication to the field is evident in his numerous publications across trauma and orthopaedic surgery and his presentations at international conferences. A recognised trainer for the KSS and London deaneries, he frequently lectures to higher surgical trainees and postgraduate students.

Mr Sharma holds a master’s degree in Surgical Innovation from Imperial College London, which has instilled a deep understanding of quality improvement, ensuring that his practice is both cutting-edge and evidence-based.
