Mr David George

Mr David George is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in Hip and Knee surgery, musculoskeletal trauma and sports injuries. He sees private patients at The Rivers Hospital, Sawbridgeworth, and NHS patients at The Princess Alexandra Hospitals NHS Trust in Harlow.

He graduated from the University of Birmingham and pursued advanced surgical training in London, earning a place on the Specialist Orthopaedic Registrar training programme at Imperial College London. During this period, he gained experience at some of London’s leading hospitals, including the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore.

Following his specialty training, Mr George completed a further two years of Fellowship training in hip and knee surgery at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford and Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in London, where he developed his expertise in managing complex orthopaedic conditions.

Mr George has also completed prestigious International Fellowships, working alongside world leaders in hip and knee replacement at the Helios ENDO-Klinik in Hamburg and the Galeazzi Orthopaedic Institute in Milan. In 2020 he was awarded the EFORT Robotic Travelling Fellowship, visiting leading centres in London, France and Germany that specialise in robotic-assisted joint replacement.

Mr George treats both acute musculoskeletal trauma and chronic conditions affecting the hip and knee. He prioritises non-surgical treatment wherever possible, including Arthrosamid injections for knee osteoarthritis. When surgery is needed, his procedures include cartilage, ligament and meniscal repairs for knee injuries, partial and total knee replacements, robotic-assisted knee replacement, total hip replacement and revision joint replacement.

Mr George takes a patient-centred approach, recognising that every individual’s needs are unique. He emphasises open communication and involves his patients as active participants in their care, developing personalised treatment plans to support them through their recovery.
